The food wasn’t bad, and was even cooked well and warmed perfectly. The only reason I gave it less than 5 stars is because the service was not as good as it could have been. The hostess at the front was a little bit rude and she even skipped over us. We were a little taken back.

This has bothered me for several months only to find it has happened to others, so now I am speaking up. Our server was awful. My husband asked for something after several attempts to get her attention, it was clear she was avoiding us. She immediately got rude and she started going off on him. Belittling him, calling him names, just being flat out rude. So we asked for a manager. Things got worse. The manager was making excuses for why it was ok for her to treat us like that. I got increasingly frustrated and he told us to «just not sit in her area next time if it bugged us so much». Then he stormed off. No apology or anything. I decided I wanted to finish my meal, but when the server came back she started talking about us very loudly to the tables around us and saying such passive aggressive things. As well as «kids like us» acting like we deserve things. Kids like us? We are 25 yr olds with very established careers(and make good money!) and we always try to tip well and treat others with respect. I honestly think it is because we are african american, and its not ok to be racist or prejudiced towards others, especially in your work place. We left without finishing our food and never returned. So sad, since this use to be our go to friday night dinner. But I refuse to deal with people who don’t care about others(racist or not. We most definitely will never be going back!

Have you ever done something you knew you shouldn’t, even before you did it? I did. I did a thing I don’t want to do again. I ate at a Golden Corral. If I were to rate this like other restaurants, it would definitely get a lower rating. Since this is a buffet I’m going to be generous. What was good? The rolls! The rolls were very good! I just wish I could say that about the rest of the food. It is food, and I ate it, but I didn’t really enjoy it. The only item with any noticeable flavor was the meatloaf. Check that. The chicken did too, it just wasn’t great. This is definitely a reminder that I’m not missing anything by not going to a Golden Corral. What’s worse is that I was left with a head scratcher. Not lice. I mean a puzzle. I had the buffet and a Dr Pepper. However, my receipt shows tea as my drink, and it was over $ 2. I went back to look at their menu board and couldn’t find any drink prices. I don’t know if all drinks are the same price or if they make easy money by over charging. I didn’t feel like asking. I just wanted to get out quickly before my body realized how it had just been violated. Lots of options nearby. Surely most of them must be better than this.

The serving staff has always been nice. Management, however, is another story. My husband was skipped over in the line by a manager this past Saturday. The people around him pointed it out to the manager and his response was it happens. My husband politely asked him if it was because he was black. The manager went into an arm flailing tirade shaking his finger in my husbands face screaming he didn’t do anything to him. Needless to say we will never darken their doorway again. The world has no place for racist behavior whether it was intentional or not.

Ate here once. Never been a golden corral fan; some of the food could be better. But everything at this location was well prepared, and I was well taken care of. The employees were giving it their all and having fun

Brought one of the kids I work with here. I’ve never been to a Golden Corral. I asked if it was okay if I didn’t eat. I said it would be okay if I just paid and still didn’t eat. I was there for my kid, not myself. The manager came out and was very rude to me. Hostile and rude. I had stated that I didn’t mind paying even if I didn’t eat and he continued to be rude.

This was one of the better Golden Corrals I’ve ever been to. There was by far a much better selection and for that matter a larger selection. I was also impressed with our server Veronica whose pleasant attitude brought a general feeling of home to our dining. At the request of a fellow Unilocaler I am going more in depth with this review. As I explained, it is a larger Golden Corral and this particular location does a good job utilizing their space. You may have noticed that some Golden Corrals merely put out the same identical items on both sides of their selection area. The«better selections» included regular items that they had«Jazzed Up»! They had macaroni and cheese as usual but for example this location carried Mac-n-Cheese with Bacon in it as well. While I can’t remember everything they had, I can tell you that dishes were served at this location I haven’t seen at Golden Corrals I have ate at before. Which seeing as how I am fat and love a buffet, I’d say I have been to at least 10 other Golden Corrals in my lifetime.

Visiting my Grandma and she loves this place. While my Dad, who was paying for the meal, slid the card across the counter with 6 of us between him and the cashier, «Hamalama Ding Ding»(on name tag) said you play frisby golf pops?” I am manager for a rental car company and deal with rude customers all the time, and while this would irritate me, never would I make a remark like this to a customer nor tolerate it from any employee. If it were up to me we would have left. When in line for food another customer told him to kiss his a$$ after walking from the cashier, and I assume more trash spilled out of his mouth as he smirked at the guy. How is he in a customer facing position, let alone still employed? I’ll never eat at any of these chains again.

Y’know, I’m not big on chains. My girlfriend had never been to one of these though and upon hearing that my mom was a big fan, decided to give it a go. I ate a lot. One of everything, I believe. Nothing was really«good». There was enough grease to have me out of commission for 3 or 4 days. As in not-eating. Dude, why does this place exist? It’s evil. It shouldn’t. The food is bad and the unlimitedness of it is far too tempting. I’m convinced that it’ll make you sick no matter how much you eat. But those rolls. They’re alright. Go for it. Whatever. Ugh. Still sick.

Not bad for the price. I will go back just because I like an unlimited amount of food

Dirtiest GC I have eaten in. nothing was clean. Food stations not attended to the least bit. Restrooms dirty. Just unacceptable.

When your not sure what you want to eat this is the place to go. Where else can you have pizza, steak and taco on the same plate.

Almost all Golden Corrals crackle with the static of polyester clothing. It is where most man-made, flammable materials go to die, usually stretched beyond their useful life after a couple of visits. I call it cruelty to spandex. Now if I can walk in a restaurant and consider myself the thinnest person in the place, that is almost worth the $ 10 charge for my meal. However, as this has to be a restaurant review rather than any kind of personal self-congratulation I will demur to Unilocal’s remit, simply remarking that GC’s cramped tables and small chairs are not… er… entirely suited to its clientele. So, anyway, it’s $ 10 for all-you-can-eat with a selection from limp, dry salad to overcooked tasteless slabs of steak. There’s a Mexican food selection, a minimal Asian food choice, greasy chicken pieces, warmed up frozen vegetables, pizza slices, shredded BBQ ‘meat’, mac & cheese, a ridiculously large dessert counter(now including a ‘chocolate fountain’) and lots more besides. If there’s a shortage of food on the buffet just look to the carpeted floor, because that’s where — seemingly — a large percentage of it ends up. I am always amazed in these kind of places by the sheer ‘towers of food’ people build on their plates, presumably forgetting they can visit the buffet as many times as they want and don’t really need to create a one-time Everest. Presumably, people who can cram as much as this in their face in a single sitting don’t really want the exercise from walking the line a couple more times? Good luck to ‘em if that’s their plan… I guess their doctors do have a champagne lifestyle to maintain. Let’s face it folks, Diabetic and Cardiology specialists should be lining up to sponsor the Golden Corral, the return on investment massive. As with all restaurants, you pay your money and you take your choice. Your choice at Golden Corral is carbs, carbs and more carbs. Walk in, waddle out. Never EVER visit again.

I’ve been to Golden Coral many times in the past, but not nearly as much as I used to go. This year we decided to go for Thanksgiving because, well. if I tried to cook a bountiful feast, my friends and family would break up with me and I’d probably burn the house down. So yeah, probably just better that we ended up here. Well we walk in and it’s a full house, which is to be expected. When I used to think of Golden Coral it was like a food playground for me to enjoy. There was the salad bar, the dinner type of stuff bar and my personal fave the dessert bar. Oh, what damage I used to do to all that food. YUM. Having not been in awhile though, I was disappointed a bit. I feel like everything is coated with salt. I mean it’s a buffet. I get it. it’s not healthy or even supposed to be remotely healthy… but I’d like to taste the food before the abundance of salt. I ended up eating two plates of a mashed potato mountain with corn and turkey mixed in so I was pretty happy and in a food coma still. They have a new chocolate fountain and it’s neat, but I didn’t feel like waiting in line for it. I opted for the ice cream instead. All in all still a good place, but I just don’t get excited to go here anymore. If they bribed me with their yummy dinner rolls and butter though, I may have to change my mind.

Not bad, but as with all places like this it depends on when you arrive and what you choose off the buffet. The roast is always a safe bet, as are the mashed potatoes. Chicken okay, stuffing just a wet lump of bread with a bit of sage. Deserts are horrible, but kids will eat anything sweet so probably okay for the young ones. Rolls are hot, the other veggies leave a lot to be desired, but as hog troughs go this one will fill you up for a decent price. If on the other hand you want something better, though not as big, hop in the car and drive to The Hearthstone in Metamora, Indiana. Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, but worth the trip.

Where else can you get steak, fried or roasted chicken, and multiple types of fish on one buiffet? Golden Corral is the place. Their commercials are accurate for showing a variety — from a fully-stocked salad bar through a tantalizing dessert spread — that is sure to please someone of almost any taste and will almost assuredly not leave you walking away hungry. The current promotion is a seafood lovers’ delight, which includes tilapia(baked and fried), whitefish(grilled), and cajun baked perch. In total, multiple shrimps(jumbo, butterfly, and dinner).
