We in the big daddy’s with my husband and toddler, we seated right by the bar where an African American guy was talking to another guy about«doing time» all the while repeatedly dropping the f bomb among all the other swear words in front of my family so we got up and went to move across the restaurant and he came over to help us, HEWASTHEBARTENDER!!! He was at work, talking about committing crimes and doing time and swearing up a storm in front of my 1 year old!!! We were absolutely disgusted but once we moved decided to stay and eat. The food was extremely disappointing, my cheesesteak was literally like a soupy sloppy joe. Over all, staff was horrible, food was awful, won’t be going back.

Stopped here for lunch. USAF function was happening. Love being in a military friendly establishment. Service was 5 star. Fast and friendly. Beer selection was 4.5 stars. I had the Morning Wood IPA and my neither had the Twisted Creek IPA. Both were awesome 5 star beers — downgraded ½ star only because there were not more IPAs… but still great. Food was 3 stars average. Being from Texas it would be hard to get a higher rating for BBQ up here. It was accepatble. The collars greens were actually the best thing I ate… they were very tasty. All averaged out to 4 stars. We will visit again for the beers and staff.

True confession here. I did not expect to love the barbecue at Big Daddy’s. In fact, the first two times I came here, I got the ribs on $ 1 rib day(they were okay, on the dry side by 1 pm), and wings the other time.(Warning, the Buffalo wings are spicy. Get the medium spicy ones unless you are a glutton for pain!) The third time I came in planning to order a burger. I’m hard core North Carolina-style barbecue, where the word«barbecue» means pulled pork, and nothing else. It is basted with a vinegar-based sauce, slowly and should taste good enough not to need more barbecue sauce, unless you want it. Restaurants outside North Carolina ruin barbecue with tomato sauce, or the pork is so dry you have to use sauce. This was not the case at Big Daddy’s. I broke down and tried it, preparing myself for disappointment. But I was beyond impressed. The meat was moist, it was smoked and the vinegar sauce just right. It was actually better than some I have had in North Carolina! The staff is also great at Big Daddy’s, and I can’t wait to have more barbecue(and try the chicken and brisket, too! LOL). I might even have room in another four hours…

We lived in Kansas City so we are back big fans of barbecue. We have previously been to places featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and not been impressed. This place was an exception to that. We ordered the Pig Out Platter. It was a ton of food. We easily had enough for another meal for two. They give you a variety of sauces to choose from. Naturally, our favorite was the Kansas City sauce. We would recommend this place. It is billed as the«Northern most Southern Barbecue». It definitely is! It is some of the best barbecue we have eaten anywhere!

Had a great time at this place both eating dinner here one night & coming back on another for drinks! Got the pig out platter the first time I came & it was delicious and a large amount of food! A great way to taste a little bit of everything as it includes: beef brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, smoked sausage, pork loin, St Louis spareribs, choice of 2 sides and Texas Toast! Highly recommend! For dessert their bread pudding in bourbon sauce was amazing!!! OMG! Taste buds exploded! Also Maureen was an amazing server and forgot the name of our bartender but another example of great hospitality!!!

I’m a foodie, me n my family likes checking out new places wherever we go, our first time in Big Daddy’s…we waited for bout 30 min, a group just sat beside us and they got their food first. Busy place, but if you know you have such a place, having more servers would probably best satisfy your customers. They forgot an order of fries, otherwise they had good food.

We drove by and the smell lured us in. The smoker is set up in the lot across from the restaurant. The food was good. We started with fried pickles but I think our sever forgot about them because the meal actually showed up first. The Arkansas baby back ribs were flavorful. A variety of sauces available to select from and sample. The Mac & Cheese was good — a very peppery flavor. No room for dessert.

The food was just great and the service is nice too… a little bit on the pricey side of things… but you do get what you pay for after all… please try out the fried okra and sweet tea is awesome… my family and I will for sure be a regular visitor to the Big Daddies Bbq in Fairbanks AK and I would recommend that you don’t miss out on the awesome food either.

When you first walk in you assume your at your nephews chuckie cheese party. The tables look awful, but luckily, I wasn’t going there for the tables. I finished my first beer and the waitress took about 5 mins to get me another. This is Alaska for Christ sakes, I’m trying to get hammered!!! I can’t wait 5 minutes or I might start sobering up. Food was good and the 4 sauces were even better.

The Cowboy Bowl is very good. Mustard sauce is very tasty. I like this spot and will be back. New owners have done a nice job. *Cowboy Bowl*

Top notch BBQ! I was surprised to find some real smoked goodness this far north. I go at least every time I’m in town; the ribs and brisket are both fantastic. The brisket was moist and tender with tasty smoke flavor. The ribs($ 1 a piece on Tuesdays #bargain!) have a great flavor. For appetizers try the smoked sausage and dessert the peanut butter pie!

Excellent food… Possibly the best BBQ I’ve had! However! And I say this with deep regret, because the food was so awesome, the customer service sucked. Got our food before our drinks, got our own side plates and BBQ sauce, and no water. Big daddy is not so big on the service side of things. Check your wait staff and we will be back in hopes of seeing improvements!

The place wasn’t very busy but service took a long time. The nachos I got were overpriced $ 14 for store bought chips flooded in canned cheese, I got the steak with it and there were barely any pieces of dried out steak on the nachos. My cousin got the pulled pork sandwich which tasted good.

We were in Fairbanks for a short visit and wanted a taste from home. As Texas natives, we were really looking forward to some good food. We shared the brisket dinner plate and got a side of frings(split of onion rings and fries) and Mac n’ cheese. The plate also came with Texas toast. The sides were delicious. The Mac n’ cheese was creamy and peppered. The frings were great — the fries had a delicious seasoning. We didn’t know this side would be an additional charge but they were worth it. The Texas toast was incredible. I could have eaten a whole basket of them. The meat was alright — nothing great but definitely not bad. The four different BBQ sauces at the table helped a lot and were delicious. Ranging from a honey mustard BBQ to a smoky sweet, they really made sure you got what you wanted. Because we were in Alaska, we wanted to drink Alaskan beer. The beers were a great price and were delicious. I highly recommend trying some local brews. The service was great — very attentive. Our food came out very quickly and our waitress kept checking on us which was perfect.

We saw a commercial for Big Daddy’s on TV and I loved the slogan«The Northern-most Southern BBQ». That just makes sense to me. So we dropped in for a bite while downtown last night. The place was packed which meant it took a bit to get seated and then to be served but once we were given our drinks and our orders taken, I was surprised at how fast the food came out. I ordered the Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich but was shocked that no sides came with it. Really? I decided to pay the more than $ 4 charge for the handful of limp, seasoned fries that came in the basket and almost $ 2 for the cup of coleslaw. The coleslaw was worth it but the fries were not. The sandwich was the real deal however. It was loaded with tender, pulled pork, piled high on a toasted bun. YUM! I chose the KC Sweet Spicy sauce to top it. My partner got the Brisket plate. It seemed minuscule compared to my sandwich, a few strips on a plate with a chunk of bread(Texas Toast) and two cups of sides — Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens. The Mac and Cheese was a HUGE disappointment. It’s boxed Mac and Cheese. Yuck. You have to have great Mac and Cheese to even utter the word«Southern». Yeah, the BBQ is good but it’s nothing without great sides. The collards were edible once I added some salt and pepper. They should be greasy, salty and spicy. None of that was happening. After eating the giant sandwich, I couldn’t handle dessert. We’ll be back for BBQ and hope that they learn how to make better sides but I guess with customers coming back the BBQ, they don’t need to. I won’t be paying extra for them next time however!

This place is my go-to BBQ place in Fairbanks, AK. Located right downtown it’s easy to access via walk or short drive. Their pork ribs are fall off the bone tender and they provide plenty of various BBQ sauces(traditional and vinegar based) table-side so you can customize ‘em just right! Their sides can be a little hit and miss but their baked beans are always a winner! On Tuesday night, it’s $ 1 a rib!

Southern BBQ in AK. It’s good to have a good southern style place up here. Overall good marks. The staff was attentive and friendly. The pork was moist and tender. The sweat tea was good. The spicy mustard sauce was one of the best I’ve had. But, it wasn’t without issue. The slaw could be sweater and the fries less salty.

Good pork ribs, service was good also. Tuesday’s special is $ 1 per rib, good deal. I had the cole slaw & beans. I recommend the slaw.
