Mirabelle is a hidden GEM! You would never know this place existed. It’s located next to a really sketch car wash and gas station. Like, really? YES. A gas station. Once you walk into this place you totally forget where you are. To put it simple, Mirabelle is an oasis. It has a great outdoor patio that is covered in really cute umbrellas and lots of plants. It’s a whimsical garden that makes you never want to leave. THEIRTABLESTHOUGH. Omg the little kid in me came out. They have a wide variety of tables that fit 2 people and some that fit up to 6 people. THEYARESWINGINGTABLES. Why is this not a thing everywhere?! You can enjoy a crafted latte and delectable cake whilst swinging. I know this sounds very odd but let me tell you… it is the most unique and amazing aspect I have ever seen at a restaurant/café. Also, if you try these tables and don’t really care for them, there is normal patio seating and seating inside. The desserts. WOW. They have a huge display of different cakes, cookies, eclairs and macaroons. I have been here several times and have tasted something different each time. I have never been disappointed — EVER. Each cake is unique in its own way and is beautifully crafted by hand. The colors, the love and thought that was put into every cake is completely mind blowing. My family and I love this place so much that my cousin ordered her wedding cake here and mini replica cakes for each guest. They have a lot of specialty cakes and so they really put a lot of detail into each and every one. They have a full lunch menu and a lot of people come into Mirabelle for a bite but sadly I have not yet. I usually come here to relax and sneak away from reality –which means stuffing my face with a piece cake in silence. They have different coffee options that are placed in huge coffee mugs. I recommend lattes if you want to sip slowly and relax. The service here is always great. There is usually one or two people at the front helping. I’ve never had an issue when I’ve come in where it’s been too busy or overcrowded. I always ask a ton of questions about each cake I’m interested in because I like to try something new every time I come in. The staff is very helpful, smiley and more than willing to help. Mirabelle is the place for any occasion! I’ve come here alone to study, I’ve met a friend here for an afternoon catch up, I’ve taken visiting family here, I’ve taken my grandma here for some quality bonding. Each time I come here it has been a real pleasure and I can’t wait to try many more cakes!

Three stars is about right for Mirabelle. Previous reviewers have commented on the spotty service, and I would have to agree. No one acknowledged us when we walked in, so I went to the counter to ask politely if it was a «seat yourself» sort of place. Then we were seated and given menus. It took a bit of time to get coffee and water. I tried ordering one dish and they had run out of it even though it was a regular menu item. My second choice was also a regular item and also all gone, so I got the breakfast croissant. The flavors were good, but my over-medium egg came out over-hard and the croissant was way overdone on the grill. It was mostly very very dry. It was difficult to appreciate the buttery, flaky layers. My sandwich was supposed to come with fruit in lieu of potatoes but it didn’t come out with either. We did let the server know about the croissant sandwich being overcooked, but I had forgotten about not getting the fruit until after we left. We were offered a free pastry due to my breakfast being unsatisfactory. That was nice, and although I don’t eat sugar, my husband did enjoy this pastry later. My husband ordered smoked salmon benedict and enjoyed every bite. He also appreciated that he could get the accompanying potatoes without peppers and onion. Coffee was good. Would have liked more water, but all told it was a lukewarm experience. We might go back to give them another try. We will probably go before 11:00 next time with the hope that they will have all of the menu items in hand.

It took 45 minutes for a menu. That should be the end of this revue because I was pretty annoyed and I wanted to leave, but my Freind was hopeful the food would be good and so we stayed. Then, we Had to flag someone down to make the order. Annoyed again. So far there has been no «sorry about that». That morning I drank 3 cups of coffee, that would be nice to have gotten topped off but I would sit there w an empty cup for about 5 minutes and give up, so both of those refills I got I had to go inside to the counter to get. They also did not bring cream I asked for twice and the third time, they gave it to me in a Dixie cup! We never got a water refills either and There was several girls working. The place wasn’t even a ¼ full I’d hate to see the service if it was a full house! I also found it odd that They brought a shaker of pepper after breakfast was served but no salt shaker. But to add salt to the would, as we finished eating my freind finds a hair UNDER some of the fruit in his cup. That means after he ate some pieces. He pushes his plate aside and he says to me «So when I first got my food there was a hair in it but I didn’t want to make a big deal so I just set it aside and ate, but now this hair was UNDER the fruit so it had to have come from wherever they dished this food.» So that means two hairs in one persons food! And incase you might wonder, he is bald! Even besides the hairs I would NEVER go back here even if someone offered to pay. We checked our text messages from the time I arrived to meet him to the time we finished eating, and it was 5 minutes short of two hours, and we left as soon as we finished eating. No «camping out» it was mostly all waiting. We are Extremely disappointed in the service. Makes me wonder how they are still in business, especially enough business to have such a great looking place with great looking desserts and the uniquely made outdoor seating. We Will never be back.

Very disappointed! The last time I ate there I ordered a salad which was very expensive and the smallest salad I’ve ever seen. That was about a year ago and I haven’t been back. My daughter ordered a birthday cake about 9 days ago for my grandson’s 10th birthday. She ordered online and received a confirmation. She ordered a 10 inch red velvet cake, which is my grandson’s favorite. She ordered this cake on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016. She called on Saturday, the 28th of May and whoever she talked to said there would call her back in a few minutes. They never called back, so I called, I talked to a very rude woman and told her I needed to know if the cake was ready. She said she would check. I heard her talk to the baker(???) and he yelled to her that they don’t even make red velvet cakes any more. She came bake to the phone and said«well too bad» we don’t make that cake anymore and hung up on me! Yikes! I immediately called Pastry Heaven, and they saved the day. Not only was their cake delicious but it was half the price of Mirabelle’s! Very, very disappointed that this place has gone downhill soon much!

Brunch review– My group was sat right away and the server was super nice. After ordering it took an hour to get our food and my $ 15 eggs Benedict was incredibly overlooked. I was going to send it back but no one came by the check on us and I didn’t want to wait anymore. The food just isn’t good enough for the price. Too many other brunch options!

Wonderful cakes & pastries. They aren’t overly sweet, the frosting us delicious & the place is super cute. I’ve called them 5 times. Left a message and even drove down to the café but can’t seem to get anyone to call me back to make 2 cakes for my daughters 1st. Seems like they have young people working for them who don’t take their job all too serious. And the Manager is not involved. Unfortunate for them because they have potential, but lack of service seems to be a common theme in their reviews.

Horrible service. Came here on 5⁄18 at 12:30 in the afternoon and it took over an hour to get our food. The food came out once but my medium rare burger was well done, there were no utensils on the table, my friend I came with waited 23 minutes for their mimosa to come out. We also never got our ranch that we asked for twice. The server kept saying they were busy but there were only two tables on the patio and the indoor seating isn’t very big. Horrible customer service. I’ve been here a handful of times and this is by far the worst.

I was in Sacramento a few weeks visiting family. Had lunch at Mirabelle Café. This is a charming place. I like the outdoor seating area. It is a very European café. I started with a very food Tomato Soup with Roasted Bell Pepper. One of the specials was a Cajun Chicken Sandwich. Very good and spicy. Real good flavor. For dessert I had a very had chocolate cookie. It was not good at all, which is strange, because they pride themselves on their bakery items. The waiter told me that the kitchen starts baking at 5 a.m. every morning. The Mirabelle Café is very French. I was so surprised to find a bidet in the men’s restroom. I use to live in Germany and have seem them in European restrooms, especially in France. But, never in Fair Oaks or even Sacramento. There is a sign on the wall, that if you have any questions on how to use, then please ask. What a great idea!!! Food is very good and so is the wait staff. Please visit this charming café when you are in Fair Oaks. I look forward to another visit

So iv started a new tradition with my daughter to do breakfast 3 to 4 times a week so youll be seeing alot of us sacramento. Anyhoo to the café, lets start with all the positive. This place is gorgeous and the swinging benches outside are a great touch. I got the bourbon french toast, not even much of a french toast fan but this sounded and WAS amazing! Service was amazing until the last moments but ill get to that and the coffee was great and came as a nice big cup. For my negatives. The price to size ratio is a little off. Presentation is great but 12 $ for 2 slices of toast is a little much considering the side was a“fruit salad” consisting of 90%honeydew and cantaloupe. Also after i had clarified i needed nothing else i was left unchecked long enough to finish eating clean my own table and come inside to ask for my check and togo box. Also the comments about desserts being heavy whipped cream based is very true. Cream cream and more cream everywhere Illdef be back for a second try tho

So much to be disappointed about. Service was very mediocre and everything took forever. Food took forever and came out cold and bland, I got a savory crêpe and my husband got eggs benedict. My crêpe was not fully cooked and I had to send it back and that was very upsetting since I waited for some time to get it. Everything would have been better, since things happen but the prices are just not suitable for the place overall. My cappuccino was more expensive than Starbucks and nothing special, everything there is way overpriced especially for the quality. Pretty sure I won’t be coming back.

You know that feeling when you are sitting at a stoplight and you get skipped? It seems like you’re children will have finished high school by the time you get to turn left? That’s how this restaurant made me feel. A party of three came in after my party of three, ordered ate and left before the waitress even came out to inform us that they’d run out of lemon pancakes. And even when the food came out after a spritely 40 minutes, they left both peppers and sausages on the plate of my mother, who specifically asked for neither. Other gripes like bland potatoes(and I mean«overcooked rice with all salt for a five mile radius obliterated» bland), 35 minutes between coffee refills and openly poor manners by snarky servers(one of whom I watched complain about us in front of us) equate to an experience similar to what prison inmates might receive on the warden’s bad day.

Oh the place is just too cute! The outside and inside is wow! Their display is so yummy! Who wouldn’t love to look at dessert displays? I could just eat a bite of everything. ok, so here’s my negative review. You know I usually include a negative review, but man this place just made me so mad. My friend and I met up for brunch and NOONE refilled our coffee or water. They had at least 3 staff working on that day. I flagged the waitress twice, and she still didn’t refill anything. Oh, get this! I had ordered fresh fruits on the side and they brought back thawed strawberries! That’s gross! I just let that by, as I will definitely not be coming back. I tried so hard to like the place because I wanted to come back for dessert, but due to the horrible service, I refuse to come back.

I usually never give negative reviews, but this one had me wondering if I should get one or two stars. I gave two stars because I have been here several times to pick up pastries and I’ve loved them. The two star rating is for today… The first time I have ever eaten here. Met a friend for breakfast. It took her about 25 minutes to come over and take our order even though it wasn’t that busy. We both ordered egg white omelettes. After another 25 or 30 minutes, she came over and told us that they were not able to offer a whites today. We were a little confused, being that most of the breakfast menu is composed of eggs. We asked her if they had any eggs in the back. She said yes. We were very confused about why they could not separate the yoke from the whites. She said the chef was not familiar with egg whites.(??) It would not have been a big deal if she would have told us that right away, as absurd as it was, but she waited almost a half an hour to come and tell us that. So after about an hour of sitting there, we left having not eaten at all. I am still confused about this…

Just found additional info about Mirabelle on Unilocal site. While the description of the new owner, Mohab, as a «maniacal»(def: wildly disordered) engineer might be correct given our dining experience, I suspect mechanical engineer is the correct description of his training.

I thought the food was very tasty but the prices are very high. I took my 4 kids out to breakfast and the tab was over $ 60 without tip. I would go 5 star if the prices were lower. The food is also not your typical fair, the portions are small and the quality is very high and expensive. I had a custom crêpe and for 13 dollars you would think that it would be a decent size. I could have had 2. If my daughter was with me the portion is spot on but for a large boy or a man you are going to have to order an additional item. Luckily my younger son 7 years did not finish his breakfast so I finished it for him. The service is great and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I especially like the outdoor patio with swinging tables.

Not overly impressed so far. We opted to sit in outside seating and someone advised us that it would be 10 minutes until ordering. We saw several servers come and go from the area and we had to flag someone down a few times to clear the dirty table and be able to place our order. Also menu is very overpriced for Fair Oaks. $ 14 for a crêpe? I know there aren’t many crêpe places in Sac, but the average crêpe is $ 8 – 10. French toast and pancakes were $ 13. Honestly these prices feel like resort pricing. Food is good, but portions are pretty small for the pricing. Meh. Won’t be back. $ 13.95 for my crêpe and $ 12.95 for my husband’s french«toast» which was really one small cresent.

Great food, friendly service, reasonable prices. They have a bidet in their restrooms, how cool is that? A great way to start your week with a coffee & pastry. Better yet, sit outside on one of their glider booths with your favorite companion & a coffee.

I used to LOVE this place but over the past 6 months or so I have not enjoyed this restaurant quite as much as I used to; the quality of service has declined & many items I loved are no longer on the menu. I have had experiences of the waiters/waitresses/management being unwilling to accomodate my friends & I when we’ve called to give them advanced notice of a large group so they could be prepared. Management was unwilling to save tables so we could sit together & when we arrived we had to sit apart from each other. When we arrived, the staff was very flustered about the amount of people(which is exactly why I called ahead of time). Also, I have gone there since with a couple friends. We had no idea they discontinued dinner & the manager replied with«Uh…we don’t do dinner.» Me: «Okay. I wasn’t aware you didn’t serve dinner, anymore.» Manager: «We haven’t for MONTHS!» Is that the kind of response I deserve? Also, they were out of coffee & were flustered because they were trying to close up. They forgot to ring us up & gave us a guilt trip about making coffee for us so I cancelled the order & the owner(I’m guessing he is the owner) insisted it was not a problem & served us. Lastly, I went there very recently with a friend who came into town; when we arrived we let the waitress know we were there & where we would be sitting [outside]. I’m pretty sure she was the only waitress there & it took her 15 minutes for us to order coffee & it took another 15 minutes just to get our coffee. We saw her walk outside to take orders or being food & made a deal that if she didn’t bring our coffee then we would just go elsewhere for breakfast… and, of course, she came out with our coffee next. Haha There have been a couple times where they compensate for the lack in customer service, but I don’t want to be treated like I’m an inconvenience or talked to like I’m less than. All of the free pastries in the world won’t make up for it. I hope for the best for this place & will give it another chance in a few months. I hope this is just an unsavory phase & look forward positive changes & refinement.

I’m a sucker for desserts with alcohol in it: King’s Hawaiian’s Havana Square, Dolce Monachelli’s Italian Butter Rum cake & Haagen-Dazs’ Rum Raisin immediately come to mind. My mom picked up desserts from Mirabelle and I was impressed with the selection of cakes that she picked up from this café. I liked them all especially the hazlenut, but the Amaretto cake was the one I’ll get the next time I am in town! It was creamy and flavorful without having an intensely almond taste that can taste fake(like extract) if done incorrectly. I love almond and the flavors here were perfectly balanced. Their lemon cake also gets a shout out as the one everyone wanted to get a bite of, lol. Mirabelle is a great find in Fair Oaks.
