Wilkes Country Deli

If I could give this deli more than 5 stars, I would because they deserve it. My company always orders from them via fax or phone call and they have never messed up an order or forgotten anything. They have amazing specials that change everyday and range from salads and soups to beef/​chicken sandwiches/​wraps etc. If you do not like anything on their preprepared menu, you can always make your own. I recommend this deli for your everyday deli, like me.

First off let me just state that Wilkes is straight up THAT JUMP OFF. By far one of the best delis in Bergen County. Their Philly Cheese steaks on point, that macaroni w/​bacon on point. I literally never experienced a bad sandwich here. After every meal you aren’t left hungry. You literally have to unbuckle your belt and wish you had more. I pray every night blessed that Wilkes was created. Thank you… thank you Wilkes.

This small deli in the middle of a Fair Lawn neighborhood is probably your best bet for breakfast/​lunch in the area. They have classic deli sandwiches and salads, but always have creative lunch specials (although you may want to call in your order during lunch, because the place can get mobbed), and the place always looks clean. Portion sizes are on the larger side, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff is really nice, and seem more than happy to help. It’s definitely worth a try if you’re tired of the same old deli food.

My go-​to lunch spot in the area! I’m on the road everyday and whenever I need to get lunch in the area I don’t miss a chance to stop in. They have a great selection of wraps and sandwiches, including many Italian inspired choice (think fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, prosciutto, and balsamic).
The sandwiches are made to order by friendly servers, though they also have some pre-​mades if you’re in a hurry since the lunch hour can get pretty busy. Lunch will cost you around 10 for a sandwich and a drink which is a bit high for take-​out but a fair deal for the quality.
They also have a nice home-​made salad selection. If you’re up to it you have to try a side of their shrimp salad. I had never had shrimp salad before, but after a co-​worked suggested it to me I can’t visit without getting some.
Oh and don’t block the neighbors’ driveways!

This little shop gets packed for lunch, and it’s no wonder why — great sandwiches! Their coffee in the morning is tasty too.

Wilkes is a great local business. It’s located in a residential area of Fair Lawn so you know it has been there for quite some time.
The staff is always friendly, but they are not quick. We order here for work frequently and we call our order ahead so that it is ready when we get there. They give us a time to pick it up and I make sure to show up slightly after that time (so that the food will be ready when I get there since it is on a lunch break during a work day). This is never the case. It seems like they just start making the food when I get there which defeats the purpose of calling it in.
The food is OK. The specials are almost always the same (and not much special about them). Ever once in a while they get a fresh turkey from nearby Gofffle Farm and do a fresh roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce special. It is delicious and usually sells out by late lunch.
Overall, it’s a decent deli.

I work close by, I walk here sometimes to grab a quick lunch. Sometimes they can get pretty busy during lunch hours. I usually get a roast beef or turkey sandwich made as opposed to grabbing one of the specials from the case (they’re pre-​assembled, meaning if you can’t pick and choose what you want on or off the sandwich). The other day I got a roast beef sandwich and they said the roast had just come out of the oven!

Salads are not good. Sandwiches and wraps are ok
Apparently they make it hard to order, as they hung up on me 3 times… close to work but regrettably not an option as they don’t value potential business–

My absolute favorite deli. I work so close and I am always here usually ordering something delicious off their daily specials or getting one of their great salads.
