What happened here? The pizza has been awesome in the past here… Maybe because it was a Friday night and they were too busy, but there were way too many people in the kitchen tripping over each other. They rushed my pizza after I waited for 10 minutes after the time they said it would be ready. What I got was a burnt Margherita pizza with no basil. Terrible! Although my dogs ate a piece of it, I couldn’t eat more than one!

I come here a lot for different things and no matter what I get, its fresh and tastes good. Their sauce is excellent. I’ve tried their pizza, pasta dishes, wraps and panini’s and everything is very good. The only thing is that I wish their pizza was bigger. It tastes so good that you want more! They are quick when it comes to picking up or delivering. Go give them a try if you are ever in the Fair Lawn, NJ area. Tell them Benito sent you. just kidding :-) They won’t know who that is.

This spot has been a pizza place for a while but this iteration is by far the best. Pizza is good. Grandma pie is great. Pasta is a great value. Bread is off the hook and they always have a great variety available if you want to grab a slice.

Their food is all pre-made and frozen, and their«Grandma’s slice» is overrated… it was doughey in the middle, which is something I would expect not to happen in a place named after it. Don’t bother.

The other night I wanted a grandma pie so bad(I no longer eat«regular» pizza). My usual spot was crazy busy and I just couldn’t wait. I had seen good reviews for Ray’s. So I ordered their«FAMOUS» grandma’s pizza. I’m not a mean person Ray’s, so please take this as constructive criticism. When I think Grandma pie, I think nice thicker than regular crust that’s light and airy, almost like sicilian. A rich, homemade tomato sauce plopped all over. And gooey, stringy, creamy fresh mozzarella sprinkled with some out of the garden basil. Something I imagine a little old grandma in Italy would whip up for her family. Nothing but fresh ingredients. There’s a distinct difference in a Grandma pie from a regular pizza cut into triangular slices. This pizza was a rectangle bar pie. The crust was super thin and crunchy. So crunchy I couldn’t even bite the edges. There was NOFRESHMOZZ! It was like eating a regular boring pizza but in a different shape. I was very disappointed. I’m sorry to say I will not return. If you’re going to say your Grandma pie is «famous» please make it something that I can’t live without, something that I’m so addicted to that I’ll never eat any other pizza but yours as long as I’m alive on this earth. :(

Ray has been in the pizza business for over 22 year. I am happy that for 6 years he has settled down in Fair lawn. Love the soups and fresh salads. Outdoor seating is a delight. Frank. Sinatra music inside upon request. Two TV’s for sports and courteous servers Hearty entrees and of course desserts and zeppoli’s. Thanks Ray.

Not sure how this place has a 4 star average. Ordered the chicken parm wrap and a stromboli with a side of sauce. The delivery was quick for a Friday night, but the food was lackluster at best. Everything tasted like microwaved or canned food, the only saving grace on the meal was the mozzarella sticks. Grossly overpriced for the size and quality of the meals.

This place really sh** the bed, pizza really greasy. Tried the chicken roll and was more like a CHICKENSTUFFEDBREADROLL. Their cold Subs really were cold, cold hearted and plain, simply“turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. lite OV lite mayo… how the f**** do you mess that up. more like 2 slices of turkey paper thin tomatoes where the f** is the meat and ov. damn this was the Sadest thing I have ever eaten. never again rather risk my life and go to Paterson corner store bodaga… Smfh

Great food and good service. I love the chicken lasagna and the penne vodka pizza. The cheese steak pizza is yummy. I like that I can bring a bottle of wine and enjoy my meal.

I grew up in Fair Lawn and havent been back to visit for 15 years. I went this past weekend and Ray’s was our second stop.(after Hot Bagels) I remember this place as a kid and it still has great pizza! My husband, who is not from New Jersey, had his first slice of real pizza and he loved it! Traditional New York style pizza! Gotta love it! The crust is thin and crisp but a little chewy. The sauce is simple and a little sweet and and cheese is in perfect proportion. Amazing!

Ordered sandwiches for take out as I have many times before. The regular staff was not working and got my order wrong, but when I called to let them know, the phone was passed to a couple people before a gentleman finally listened, I asked to have a new sandwich made and said I would go pick it up, he told me 10 minutes. When I arrived, no one knew about my order, it was not yet prepared, I waited for the new sandwich, and then the cashier tried to charge me again! ! Very disappointing service

The pizza here is wonderful! I’m a transplanted New Yorker and this place is far and away not only the best pizza in town, but even out does NYC. Still don’t believe me? Try the Sicilian. The best Sicilian I ever had was over 20 years ago in Soho, and never found another, since they’re usually heavy and doughy… At last I found my Sicilian heaven! One bite and you know this owner/chef knows his Sicilian; light and airy with a nice crunch. We ordered a simple regular topping that was fresh, and the tomato sauce had just the right amount of sweetness. We also ordered a veggie pizza. The crust wasn’t too thin or heavy. The toppings were finely chopped and didn’t overwhelm the taste of the other ingredients or make it mushy. Every bite was a delight. We’re lucky to live right down the street, but that shouldn’t stop pizza fans from visiting this local jewel.

I am a little biased towards Rays since I live in walking distance to the restaurant; however, in my mind, their pizza is the best in the area. Their margherita pizza is ridiculously good; and while they are known for their Grandma’s pie, which I like, I am not a huge fan. If you like mushrooms, be sure to ask for FRESH mushroom’s, otherwise you will get the canned, rubbery stuff. The antipasto salad is chock full of goodness. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. You will be happy with a sub, pasta dish, or pizza. ENJOY!

Best grandma pie in the area! If only they put some fresh basil that would be perfect! Just found this place recently and I love it!

Kinda shocked this is not ranked higher. Some people are claiming that Ray’s in New York is the best slice of pizza in New York. I think this is the best slice in New York and its in Jersey!(were talking about the New York foldable stuff here not in the Brick Oven Brooklyn style. The regular slice is terrific and they have really cool creative toppings. The have a solid Margarita slice and their Grandma slice is mind boggling good. I watched the world cup here before hopping a place back to LAX. My last few minutes in Jersey having pizza. Nice.

I have been here many times and I have been to the establishments that were here before Rays(all which were crap – there is a reason they went out of business) Rays is hands down my favorite pizza place in Fair Lawn and there are a lot of pizza places to pick from. True to their name they have the best grandmas slice I have ever had and great sandwiches/paninis/wraps. Service is great and very friendly. I have also ordered out for delivery and never had a problem with quality of food on delivery. Pastas are hot and cooked properly and pizzas are hot and fresh. Everything arrived Ina timely manner as we’ll. Honestly, my only compliant is that their garlic knots are not great, but I am a garlic knot snob and have an intricate rating system for good garlic knots Go try it, you won’t regret it.

Update: ok so ray is good for eating in only DONOTORDERDELIVERY. All of the food is always cold and taste very bland. The seasoning is missing. We orders wings and they are a joke. They look like Tyson’s frozen wings that are served to kids at a roller rink. The Pizza was so cold and they are less then a mile away. We asked when calling if they could deliver it hot somehow and they said«of course». We stopped using Rays a long time ago because the quality is poor. Anthony Franco’s on 17 is by far the best around. It makes sense to order from a pizza place that is Italian owned and operated rather then Rays were they don’t even understand you on the phone when you call back. $ 29 for 5 slices and a sampler app. Rip off Skip Rays

This is the take out place we get when we go to grandmas and our favoriteeeeee Italian place in fair lawn… last time I got the buffalo chicken salad(small) for $ 7.95, big enough for me to eat for a dinner… and was great the buffalo sauce wasn’t too spicy it was just right with big mounds of fried chicken and hunk of blue cheese. I’m drooling thinking about it Omfg… My daughter whose 15 months old got 3 huge meatballs for $ 4.95. To be honest I wasn’t a fan. The sauce was good but It didn’t compare to mine or my moms meatballs… not even close! My bf got the chicken finger appetizer and fries. The chicken was good could of used a little more seasoning but the fries were great. All in all you cant go wrong with rays !
