Best Mexican in Ewing/West Trenton. So good, and super authentic! This is a must-try!

Super delicious fish tacos, friendly staff, inexpensive great food, love the flan. Can’t wait for them to open by TCNJ.

Food is very good but ambiance of the place is nonexistent. I’ve eaten there while the staff cleans tables with Lysol. Stinks-up the whole place.

Everytime I visit my friend in Ewing, I make it a point to stop by Mexican Mariachi. It’s a small family business that serves authentic Mexican cuisine. The lady at the front is always so friendly and polite! I’ve been here three times and have tried the tres leches cake, steak tacos, chicken nachos, spicy pork burrito and beef burrito. The tres leches cake is enough for two people to share. It’s sooo good– super moist and just the right amount of sweetness. At first i thought my two steak tacos wouldn’t be filling enough but I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a small side salad, rice and refried beans topped with cheese. The chicken nachos were to die for! The chips were crispy and not soggy. It came in a very large portion topped with refried beans, cheese, pico de gallo and jalapeños. The contrasting textures and flavors were so addicting I almost neglected my tacos. I also tried the spicy pork burrito stuffed with lettuce, sour cream, rice and beans. It was simple but so good! The shredded pork was tender and had a smoky flavor. I couldn’t detect any spiciness but that was quickly resolved with their medium volcano salsa. The beef burrito was a little disappointing. I expected it to be barbacoa but it was bland ground beef instead. The white rice was also very plain. I had to drown my burrito in spicy and green salsa to compensate. They have complimentary chips and salsa on the counter so you can munch away while waiting for your order or ask for a small bag to take some to go. The prices are very fair for the quality and amount of authentic Mexican food. I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m in the area!

I love this place! I’ve been coming here since they opened and I always get a great meal. Burritos are huge and delicious. Then there is my favorite, the Speedy Gonzalez platter. They make it extra spicy with habanero peppers for me. It’s HOT and delicious! Chips and salsa are great while you wait. Plus they are the nicest people. Very friendly and they even remember my name!

Big burrito, free chips and a spicy salsa that was actually spicy. I just had the Adobo Pork burrito and it was packed solid with tasty pulled pork. The volcano salsa(advertised as very, very spicy) was tasty and had some kick. Loved the free tortilla chips. Definitely headed back

Its the best Mexican I have had in a very very long time. There is usually a line because it’s that good. The place is low on décor, and they call you to the counter to pick up your food. But it is some of the best ever! I also did takeout and they got the order spot on. Their fresh trio of salsas are rich in flavor, and the chips are perfection!

I have been to Mexican Mariachi grill before but today’s visit finally sealed the deal for me to leave a review. The Mariachi platter is a ridiculously awesome amount of food and is perfect if you can’t decide what to get. Everything tasted so fresh and a great mix if beef, pork and chicken. Even the mild salsa was super good. Mariachi grill has definitely stepped it’s game up in my book.

Mariachi is my go-to spot for delicious, authentic Mexican food on my way home from work in Trenton. I’m borderline addicted to their carne asada and chicken burritos in a shell and recently suggested that they start selling their salsa by the jar. It’s just that good. My husband alternates between the chicken tacos and fajitas and has always enjoyed both. The fresh avacado in the platters is a nice touch. The employees are some of the nicest I’ve met in customer service positions — you’d think you had just wandered onto Disney property from the smiles and greetings. Don’t go expecting anything fancier than an awesome $ 8 meal, a chair and a napkin to clean the drool off your chin and you won’t be disappointed.

In town for a week of business. Came here twice for lunch and both times it was delicious. The first day I had the mariachi trio tacos which were so well done. The second time I had a surf and turf burrito which has shrimp and beef in it. Each was so good. Glad to see truly delicious food served by hard working and clearly caring people. Congratulations on having a wonderful business

Best Mexican in the area… nothing fancy if you are not into mex but just good all round ingredients and simple food with a side of tasty rice and beans. Fish /steak /chicken are all good with the corn tortillas. Personally I liked the chicken chimichanga, but the highlight is surely the impossible cake — half flan and half wet chocolate cake. I wasn’t too keen on their chicken adobo but everything else were solid.

Best Mexican your going to get in the area. I usually make the trip to Tortugas Mexican Village in Princeton but I decided to check this place out when I moved here about a year ago. The staff is so friendly and nice! You can tell it is authentic Mexican food. The surf n turf burrito is THE BEST-every time. I also don’t mind the complementary chips and bomb assorted salsas

I think this is my new favorite local ‘greasy taco’ joint for two reasons: 1) the food — great touches like some chunks of pineapple on the pork tacos and fresh avacado slices on all the platters. I didn’t even try the«warning: very hot» salsa from the self-serve appetizer bar(next time) 2) I don’t have to go into the bowels of trenton to get to it(as I did for my previous favorite). I had passed this place dozens of times and only just had occasion to stop in(very unassuming road signage). Great find and great value!

this is a good place for some cheap and authentic Mexican food. the staff are SO kind and the service is quick. we went on cinco de mayo when it was fairly packed and our food was out in under 10 minutes. I’ve ordered both the fish and chicken tacos — the chicken tacos were way more flavorful in my opinion. Love the rice and beans you get on the side with the tacos. Salsas are pretty bland and not very spicy, which is disappointing!

I literally don’t know what I’d do without this place. It’s right down the road from my school, serves authentic, delicious Mexican food, decently priced, and so nice! Whenever I crave Mexican I immediately go to Mariachi. Today, I decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Mariachi and I’m so glad I did. It was packed but service was still quick and friendly. There was music blasting outside as well as outdoor seating for the day. They had a special menu for the occasion and I gladly indulged into the adobo chicken. It was dreamy. Omg. I wish I could eat it for every meal for the rest of my life. I normally get the chicken burrito bowl here, or if I’m extra hungry, the Mariachi plate. And I always love the free chips and salsa you get with every meal.

Mariachi is quick and authentic Mexican food and it’s 800x better than chipotle in my opinion. The staff is always really friendly. It’s also reasonably priced and everything I’ve had on the menu is delicious. My favorite is probably the enchiladas. Their chips and salsa are also really good, but their hottest sauce isn’t really that hot.

Disappointing. After reading most of the reviews here on Unilocal my partner and I decided to try these guys out tonight. Why anybody would go here is beyond me. This place is a 14 minute drive away from the Chambersburg Area in Trenton which has some of the best Latino Cuisine available in Central Jersey. The interior of this restaurant looks like it just barely passed the Health Inspection test, the counter is on wooden blocks and has a month worth of dirt under it. You order at the counter which also has the chips and salsa bar. The chips are heavily fried and you get two tiny cups of salsa with your order. Anything beyond that cost 40 cents extra. We ordered the Enchiladas and Tacos. Both dishes were lukewarm and tasted as if they were warmed up in the microwave. The Enchiladas had a funky taste to it. The food comes on plastic plates and you have to help yourself to plastic fork/knives. Portions are small and we paid $ 23.50. No free water, you have to purchase a bottled water. No condiments on the table either and our dishes needed some. Oh and this place does NOT honor Unilocal coupons! Maybe evenings are not the best time for this joint but as I said, drive less than a quarter of an hour and you get some of the most amazing, fresh, high quality, seasoned, Guatemalan, Ecuadorian, Mexican food in many places in Chambersburg for less money, with table service, on real plates and as much Aqua as you want.

In my 4 years at TCNJ I hadn’t been here but came here recently with friends and was regretful I did not discover it earlier. Very home-like feel to the restaurant. Good prices and people. Free chips with dip(their spicy isn’t that spicy). 2 tacos with steak — meat was delicious and plentiful, gave some avocado, lettuce and radish. Good quality for the price(~$ 10). Overall, I’d come back for a local bite of mexican food.

This was my first visit to Mexican Mariachi Grill and it won’t be my last. Sitting in a nondescript mini shopping strip across from the old GM plant, this joint is a bright and pleasant spot for lunch, and probably dinner. Once inside it is a long, narrow space with a wall of tables on one side, and the kitchen prep area on the other. The menu is simple with the usual suspect tacos, burritos, quesadillas and the like, but as soon as I saw they had grilled pork Tortas, I zoned in on that. The Chips and Salsas are self-serve on top of the counter, with a choice of hot and hotter green/red dippers in small plastic containers. The chips are extra thick and crunchy. The lunch special includes a drink, smooth Black Bean mash, and mildly spicy Rice with kernels of corn mixed in. Both, tasty and textural accompaniments. The Torta arrived — an oversized fresh roll stuffed with Grilled Pork, Lettuce, Tomato, Melty Cheese, Hot Sauce, and Chipotle Mayo dressing, half-wrapped in foil to hold it together and allow for pick up without mess. Under $ 7. The chew was a robust mix of hot and cold, sweet and spicy, chewy and compliant; a very tasty and intriguing eat. The only note of caution is when removing the foil to attack the rest of the sandwich, remember that the sauce inside can leak and drip, and even dampen the bread. You don’t want that causing a trip to the cleaners. Otherwise, a totally satisfying experience that I am very likely to repeat.
