First off let me say this: I lived in Chinatown for over twenty years. I was trained to cook Chinese style ducks, pigs and chickens. My wife is Chinese and I have eaten here many times. So I kind of know Chinese food pretty well. Well today I ordered a number 29 and spare ribs on the bone(yup, American food). My family had restaraunts in Boston(Chinatown area) for over twenty years as well. I have worked as a fry cook, short order cook etc. since high school. Back to today: I received the worst meal I Have had in thirty years and I am in South America five time a year. It was from Jade 3 in Everett, MA. The number 29 is Egg Foo Young, Chicken Wings and fried rice. I also ordered the spare ribs with the bone in. First view of dinner(remember I know how to cook this stuff) the chicken wings were almost chestnut brown. This means they have not cleaned or changed the fryolator oil in some time. I couldn’t tell you what they tasted like but I’ll explain that later. Next the rice. The rice was clearly reheated over several days dried out and splitting. Symptomatic of reheating. Next the Egg Foo Young: the brown gravy had a strange consistency and an almost grey pallor. It was the second bite when I realized it was rancid. Yup, rancid most likely from age apparently they had a slow weekend and thought they could get away with passing this stuff off as food. Next the spare ribs: I love spare ribs but these too also appeared to have been reheated several times. Burnt and tasted like burnt wood. The following statement is made after I finished vommiting(sorry for being gross) I remember when they opened, the food was great. I ave eaten here several times a month and I don’t know of they have new cooks or new management but if I wanted to be bulimic I would rather it be my choice.

Jade3 is one of at least three chinese takes places within about 2 – 3 blocks of Glendale Square. Based on our experience Saturday, it’s currently running in last place. The good: It’s in a great location. The staff all seem very nice(the cashier is a teen, who appeared to be relatively new on the job; she was very quiet and a bit shy, but very pleasant); the pricing is decent, and the portions are extraordinarily generous. The bad: The food mostly was very bad. The plain white rice was decent as was the chicken chow mein. However, my wife got the chicken pad tai, and said it was not only horrible, but it was the worst she’s ever had anywhere. It was very sticky, overcooked, and the chicken tasted slightly burned. The meat in the eggroll, was burned, as was the beef in my beef fried rice. Nothing we got was especially tasty. Even the«good» stuff was nothing extraordinary as far as taste and quality are concerned. While they do have a few tables, this is primarily a take-out restaurant. At the moment, I can’t imagine going here again.

Jade 3’s five dollar plate specials come in handy. I’ve never had a complaint about the food, and get it almost every time I Chinese food. The prices are cheap and the food is pretty good. Delivery usually doesn’t take long to get to my house which I love. Overall this is a pretty good Chinese spot, I don’t eat at any other Chinese food place in Everett.

They have super specials for 5.50 and its a great meal and for me is enough for two meals. I do have a small appetite. But the food is great for the money. Fast service. Always get the orders correct. I would def recommend.

I’ve ordered here only once. I got a pupu platter for 2. Much to my disappointment the chicken fingers, crab ragoons, chicken wings, egg rolls were all old, dry and looks like they had been previously cooked then put back in the fryer when I placed my order. This concerns me because practices such as this can cause severe food poising. I noticed when I picked my order up that they had mounds of already cooked chicken fingers, crab ragoons, chicken wings, boneless ribs, and egg rolls. With items like these that take less than 5 minutes to cook, I don’t understand why they feel the need to put customers health at risk by precooking and leaving food to sit out on a counter.

I never go out of my way to eat Chinese food, as I have had many many bad experiences of overly greasy and unfulfilling Chinese food. However, today my boyfriend and I decided to stop by and give Jade 3 a try. Normally, I expected a Chinese joint to have the typical all Asian staff, which often times leads to a huge language barrier. What I came to wasn’t that, there was a girl working who looked Hispanic and was very attentive and sweet, I was surprised seeing a non-Asian employee but I was happy none the less because I knew that if I had a question or problem she would be able to fully understand me. Alright so let me start of by saying this place is VERY clean, almost spotless which is surprising. The restaurant doesn’t feel hot or steamy and it didn’t have an overwhelming smell/humidity of sweaty, old Chinese food. The tables were wiped clean and the kitchen was spotless and organized. I was impressed. The menu was reasonably price(mostly everything under $ 10), my boyfriend and I ordered a Super Special which are entrees with pork fried rice and two sides for only $ 5 each!($ 5.35 including tax). I was so surprised with how low the price was so I was skeptical on the quality of food. I ordered chicken wings, boneless spare ribs, and pork fries rice and my boyfriend had the boneless ribs, pork fried rice, and crab rangoons. The food came out fairly fast and… *drum roll* it was delicious! I must say that this was the first Chinese place I have eaten at where the food didn’t taste overly greasy. You get a huge mound of rice, soft and fluffy. Other reviewers commented on it tasting old, but I didn’t have a problem. The spare ribs were full of meat and not fat +1 star! The chicken wings were juicy and moist, very exceptional for a Chinese place. Overall, this place is super sanitary, cheap, fast, and delicious. I enjoyed this place a lot and it was worthy of being my weekly cheat meal tonight. I will be back.

I live close by this place and it smells amazing. The scent of Chinese food comes up through my open window. If the food was as good as it smells my review would be much better, sadly it wasn’t. I ordered a large beef dish, which was very short on beef and loaded with green peppers. They seem to have a decent following showing people like their food, but I prefer beef in my beef dish and not a bunch of vegetables with a small mount of beef.

Where do I begin with Jade? KNOWTHISPLACEISAFFORDABLEANDDELICIOUSANDWORTHITIFYOUREADNOTHINGELSE! In my previous experiences, takeout(particularly Asian ones) are efficient but frazzling experiences The people behind the counter often seem to be in some state of pressure. This is not necessarily a negative comment as I work in Starbucks and understand the perennial state of frazzled-multi-tasking-pressure. Imagine my delighted surprise when the owner, Patrick, was friendly, took his time to answer all my annoying questions and even initiated a conversation with me about the business and highlighting our similar interest. Furthermore, my experience was not unique as he spoke to everyone that was waiting for their delivery. The cooking area looked particularly clean, and while a simple set-up, and did not leave me wondering whether the board of health would have any reservations about the place. FOOD: It is really great tasting food and truly my favorite. I love that it is affordable, I love that they actually have scallion pancakes and that they deliver. My one irrelevant quibble is that they do not have brown rice as their is not(yet) enough of a demand Even the delivery man is personal as I have also ordered the food to my house. He had been waiting outside for twenty-five minutes(who even waits that long these days?) and had been given the wrong apt number and cell phone number. Even while explaining his frustrations he was still so nice and I found myself leaving a generous tip which I NEVERDO. All in all, my first few encounters at Jade have been amazing. No wonder why they also have locations in Amesbury and Chinatown p.s: The food is good enough for John Cena, he’s a fan and his picture is on the wall with the owner!
