I drove all the way to try this place and when I got there they jacked the price’s up on me .the online price for an 8 piece was $ 25.50 but they tried to charge me 4 dollars more. When I told them about it they told me «oh our prices just went up yesterday«when I asked the Manager to honor the online price they said no… You just lost my business!!! i

I am not impressed. I ordered a chicken breast, small fries and cornbread muffin. I think my breast must have come off of a granny chicken who just laid down and died. This chicken breast was the smallest thing I’ve seen in my life; I’ve had hot wings that were bigger. The cornbread was dry and had an odd taste to it. Nothing about this lunch was worthwhile and I will never spend so much as another penny in this place.

I have to try hard to even give this place one star. Walked in at 5PM, and only one person working the counter, but she was also refilling napkin and paper cup dispensers, so she indicated she would be right with me. I placed my order to-go at 5:07. At 5:25 she told me the chicken breast would be at least a 20 minute wait, and I could cancel that part of the order and wait for the other food. Then she announced to the other people waiting, there were no rolls. Seriously, this is the dinner hour, your busiest time of the day, and you are out of your main foods you are known for??? The manager seemed totally indifferent to my complaint, but the poor girl working the front obviously had to do everything, take the orders, refill all the supplies, fill and dispense all the orders… she was given an overwhelming task, with incompetent management.

Noooooo!!! Send it back! Was not good. I was so excited to try it because I crave for good food in my life man!!! Driving by this place all the time too. Ommmeeeeegosssh. The chicken was blah and tasteless, Ordered mashed potatoes with gravy, it was the only decent thing there, besides the fountain sodas. The collard was … Gross. Why is it bitter and sour, leaving your taste bud a dry salt bitter taste … I don’t know, try it at your own will. Then you be the judge. Ppl have different likes. Just sharing mines. This place leaves you wanting more, not satisfied. And madsad on the hunt.

Took a half hour to get dried out chicken that had been sitting under heat lamps too long. The lady at the register gave away my boyfriends food to another customer and the lady ran out in the parking lot to get it, 15 minutes into our wait. The bag of questionable parking lot chicken sat on the counter for another 15 minutes while we waited for who knows what. My food also wasn’t what I had ordered. I guess we should have gone to the real Ezells.

Great chicken, probably the best in town! Sadly the policy on «No Free Soda Refills» is seriously lame and needs to go away. Soda is really cheap and to charge 2 bucks for a soda, have the machine facing the customer, but then have a sign saying«No Free Soda Refills». — Come on man!

I heard good things about this place from coworkers and was sadly disappointed when I went for try it for myself. The staff could use a lesson in hospitality. When I walked in instead of being greeted the person barked at me «here or to go». In addition I was asked to produce ID to pay for a $ 10 lunch which seemed very tacky to me. From there I proceeded to get a drink and on the soda machine there was a sign stating they used to have refills but no longer offer them because of abuse. Again this seemed very tacky to me. In addition when my meal was served I was doled out an «allowed amount» of ketchup, salt, and napkins. This again seemed very stingy and tacky to me. Overall this left me with the experience of freeing like a criminal rather than a customer. Now onto the food itself. The chicken looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for sometime and tasted like it as well. For the price I would prefer to wait and have it cooled fresh. The chicken itself was juicy and hot however it was completely devoid of flavor. I was initially surprised when they said the fries would be cooked fresh. I was sadly disappointed when they arrived however and looked to be like they came from a freezer bag in a supermarket. Again for the price I would expect fresh cut fries. Needless to say this will be my one and only visit to this establishment!

I had heard that HSFC(run by Ezell Stephens of ‘Ezell’s Chicken’ fame) was bomb diggity, and though I am watching what I eat, I decided I had to stop in last night to try some of their goods. Being that it was past my usual dinner time, I opted to go with the kids meal: spicy chicken strips(3pcs), fries, a roll, and a small drink. The restaurant itself was underwhelming inside, and quite frankly looked a bit on the tired side — as did the employees. There was no greeting, but rather«for here or to go?» — which might be their version of a greeting(btw, my answer was ‘to go’). I was pleasantly surprised that I had to wait for my food to be cooked — and I say that because they had two shelves full of fried chicken sitting under heat lamps for goodness knows how long. Given that the prices seem pretty high for fried chicken, I would have expected something fresher than what a heat lamp would provide. Anyways, I go to fill up my drink cup at the soda fountain and notice a wordy sign that basically says that the used to have free refills, but because people cheated and took more than 1 free refill they do not offer free refills at all anymore. While I would not have needed a refill, I thought the sign was a bit tacky and scornful. Get with the times, most fast food restaurants are allowing free refills because soda isn’t expensive — unless it comes in golden vats, or something? That aside, I had to wait about 10 – 15 minutes while the staff slowly prepared the orders ahead of mine. I would expect that if their fried chicken is sitting under a heat lamp, so too would most of the other things that come with the meals(save for chilled salads). Finally my meal was ready — and again, I am NOT complaining I had to wait since my food was cooked fresh. The chicken tenders were extremely juicy and tender, but underwhelming in flavor. If that was spicy, then I don’t want to know what regular tastes like because I could barely detect any spice whatsoever. The fries were hot and fresh — and unsalted. I think the best bite was actually the tender buttery roll, TBH. 3 stars because the food was hot, it was what I ordered. Also, I can’t give half stars, otherwise I’d lean towards a 2.5 star review. Will I be back? Probably not — it was by no means horrible, but it also didn’t knock my socks off, and even for a kids meal, I found it on the pricey side.

I love fried chicken, and this is great fried chicken. I highly recommend your order is «to go». The overall facility is disgusting. The bathrooms are broken and filthy(stinky too). I don’t think that the tables in the dining area have every been washed. The cashier and staff have always been very friendly. The chicken is pricey, but worth it.

This was my first visit and it was ok. The chicken was really tasty. They don’t allow you to do any substitutions of any type. The waitress forgot to give me my drink. The price I pay in Louisiana for a personal individual potato pie you will pay for a slice there. The lighting was very dim in the entire Resturant.

I wish I would’ve done takeout. This place is as no frills as it gets. No extra sauce, no refills on drinks, no butter for your roll unless you ask. The guy behind the counter was unpleasant and rude. The cashier had a smile on his face and was trying his hardest to get customers to smile, but that’s the only upside. The chicken was decent, but overly greasy and nothing to write home about. The roll was good, as were the mashed potatoes, but I doubt I’ll be back here.

So you see a picture of Oprah with the owner on the store window and gets your hopes up. The bread rolls were nice. They were big and soft. The mashed potatoes tasted horrible and they’re fake. The coleslaw tasted really odd. It was peppered and just didn’t taste right. And the chicken… it tasted just like KFC. Yeah there was nothing special about their fried chicken. It was dry and chewy. You want good fried chicken? Albertsons. Go there. This place was a miss.

The service takes a while. The staff seemed to be not so happy to have customers come in. But, if you like fried chicken, liver and gizzard like me you’d love it here. I always pick the spicy option. The place has a new look. Gone were all the signs and pictures on the wall which makes it look nicer now.

And let me change my tune. All I ate that day was coffee and potato salad so I know it was the potato salad. I had the worst food poisoning I have had in my entire life. No good!

Had never tried this place until a few weeks ago. Learning that it is basically Ezell’s(same owner/creator), I was excited to try the food. Upon ordering, I was barely greeted or even acknowledged plus the girl taking my order seemed miserable, not to mention, I could barely understand a word that came out of her mouth. American Express is not accepted. The two people working behind the counter were extremely unpleasant. The food is mediocre and portions do not match the price paid for the food. I ordered the chicken strips; with each strip having something chewy inside as well as being only partially cooked, I will not be back. I will stick with Ezell’s. It’s safer and better quality.

Tonight we went in for dinner because I really wanted their ice cream! We got there and there was only one person waiting, we ordered our food and were told it will ready in 7 minutes. 10 minutes later someone after us got their food! Another 10 minutes later we got our food! The food was okay, the rolls were burnt! You don’t even get free refills on soda! After I ate I went up to get the ice cream and I wanted to the 7-up cake, I was told that they don’t make ice cream anymore, which is funny since it’s still on their menu, also they had only slice of cake! We told them that is okay and left! We will never go back! If you want good chicken and you don’t want to wait forever don’t go to heaven sent, go to Ezells! This is just a rip off and they should be closed down for good!

The location of the restaurant is kind of in an akward strip mall. If you are heading east on 112th you can’t turn left into the parking lot. You would have to make a u-turn up the road or turn onto 7th and attempt to get into the parking lot that way. Once you enter the parking lot there is plenty of parking spaces. Went in for dinner and I was promptly greeted and placed my order. I ordered the 8 piece spicy family meal which included; 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 wings, and 2 legs, 4 rolls, and two large sides(I chose the mashed potatoes with gravy and the coleslaw). They were not very busy, so my order was ready very fast. The chicken was the perfect amount of spicy and crispy, but the meat was a bit on the dry side. The coleslaw was very moist and almost creamy, but very delicious. The mashed potatoes were extremely dry, but a little bit of gravy took care of that. The rolls were excellent and they were a favorite of the family eating this dinner. Overall I gave 4 stars only due to the dryness of both the chicken and mashed potatoes. The flavor of the food was wonderful and the friendliness and speediness of the staff are worthy of the score. I have eaten here in the past and will return for more meals in the future.

This place is just okay and it makes me very sad. I heard this was the original owner of Ezells new restaurant because of issues. The fried chicken had a very thick crust and the chicken itself seemed very dry. The only thing I liked was the potato salad and baked beans.

The chicken is okay(most of the time, but once the chicken made all four of us sick) but the prices are not. Still a fine place to grab a bite if you’re itching for fried chicken that isn’t KFC. The chicken is made earlier and left to sit under heat lamps for a very long time, which makes the 10 $ for three small pieces thing even more weird. Being on Oprah doesn’t justify the hike in my opinion, I mean seriously 15 $ for chicken strips? The service is just like other reviewers describe, nonexistent. They don’t announce when your order is ready, they just leave it on the counter for people to sort out whose is whose. BUT sometimes you get the good manager(Better than the actual owner) who allows refills and offers to clean the trash for you. She is super cool. The combos make no real sense, especially the chicken strip ones(unless adding one small side and a packet of sauce justifies the 4 $ increase) and drinks are only free with the roll the dice lunch special(two pieces, manager’s choice, so probably the oldest under the heat lamp) They charge you for sauce packets, which is beyond bizarre, and the soda machine has a sign saying too many people abused the free refill policy — really? 3 $ for a medium soda and no refills? The décor is quite awful, but its a fast food place — does it really need THREE«open» signs? Every single window has the done-in-mspaint logo on it. It literally looks like a place from the GTA games. I give it one star to so they hopefully fix the place up or change their ways.

We walked in, it was an empty ghost town and they had trays of fried chicken sitting under the warmer, I should have left right then. But I didnt. I was incredibly hungry, having not eaten all day, so we stayed, and ordered. I got a #1 meal in original with Cole slaw. It was the wing and breast meal. Boyfriend got a la cart chicken, rolls, and two sides. $ 20, for lunch. The chicken lacked salt and flavor. ANY flavor. His was dry, mine was not crunchy at all. It was hard to eat, and usually when I am hungry a pb and j tastes like a gourmet meal. This was… so bland and boring and just ick. Collard greens: gross and vinegary, had a spicey after tatste. No ham. Also disgusting. Cole slaw was weird. Had a sweet and vinegar after taste. Baked beans and bread were the only good things between our plates. On top of that, we got small drinks and NO refills. There is even a sign on the machine th at says you can’t have any refills. It cost less than 5 cents a refill in these small cups, and with the dry tasteless chicken, you need all the soda you can get. Drive by this place and go to KFC, Albertsons, or Subway. Seriously. It is that bad. I really wanted to like this place and support a small business, but I just can’t.
