Everett Transit

Commuting with the masses, oh what a treat. You’ll see it all here, folks. If you can manage to stay out of the main building and hold your pee until you get to where you’re going, you’ll have a much better day. Don’t turn your back on anyone, especially while inside the bathroom and don’t go in the stalls to poop.
Depending on the time of day you’ll most likely be riding mass transit with sane, normal people. During non-​peak hours you’ll find the lowest of the low wandering around this area. The county jail isn’t far away so that doesn’t help keep the scum away. Most won’t bother you unless you give them a reason; try to avoid eye contact and use your ear buds! If you fail to bring ear buds, that’ll be a valuable lesson learned.
You’ll see many get on the bus and give the coach driver some sob story and he will generally allow them to ride for free. It’ll anger you and you’ll be upset about it but eventually you’ll grow immune to all the scum that gets a free pass because they’re poor. Just remember: you have a job and a good life, and they don’t.
Parking is atrocious here. The parking lots haven’t been properly maintained or the lines re-​painted so all the them are faded so people kind of park how they want when they first get there at 5:00am. There’s trash every where and homeless bums loitering on the benches. There is some sense of security when Everett PD rolls through but that’s far and few between. Transit Security is most active at night but don’t expect them to come running if you’re having problems with one of the locals. It’s probably best to carry some pepper spray or get your concealed weapons permit and pack some heat.
The coffee shop isn’t bad. Slightly overpriced but the service is good so it’s worth it. I never knew there was an unemployment office inside the main building, but I guess there is according to another review. That would explain the riff raff that seems to congregate around the area.

After years of struggling with all the garbage from a bus stop by my house we finally got a trash can. Yeah, not so much, they have now removed it and say someone was putting yard waste in it and household garbage. The yard waste came from someone else as there is NO bamboo on our block. Seriously household garbage? The can’s good far out weighed the bad. They refuse to put it back. Off to city counsel we go.

Majority of drivers are nice and dealing with leaky squeaky busses and schedules apparently not set up by anyone who has actually driven the route. The bus I used to take #3 to link up with 513 bus is scheduled to be at evergreen and casino at 6:22am which is past the stop that I catch the 6:20 513 at 79^th and evergreen. I called and was told it could be because of traffic, bus may have broken down, they may have have multi wheelchair riders. Also told not considered late unless more than 5 minutes late… with another route was advised they have a window anywhere from 5 min early to 5 min late is not an issue for them. I come from Tacoma the buses have times you can depend on. If the bus is late they can tell u what happened because it is not often.

I have driven by this place many times, however, this is the first time that I used the facility. I rode the Sounder to the Seahawks game. Purchasing tickets from the kiosk was easy, extra staff were standing near the kiosk to help those who have trouble. Boarding the train was quick and easy. I plan on doing it again.

There are other businesses here — most notably and maybe appropriately the Washington State Department of Employment Security — but the main focus of Everett Station is the confluence of Amtrak, the Sounder commuter train, Everett Transit, Greyhound, Community/​Sound Transit, Skagit Transit, taxis, police and lots of druggies. There’s a coffee shop in there; I’ve checked it out. Pass.
The skeeves perpetually shooting up in men’s room are better than cable TV. Drug transactions, arrests, syringes, stale tobacco, puking, urine, overdoses, graffiti, panhandling, the homeless, the illiterate, prostitutes, fugitives, FBI cadaver dogs, filth, addicts nodding out, blood spattered on the ceilings, assaults, the smell, debris everywhere, and the occasional death are what await you at Everett Station. If you need to use the restrooms, watch yourself. They’re publicly funded shooting galleries.
It’s nauseating, but we all have to get somewhere sometime. Sound Transit does patrol the parking lots regularly so your vehicle might be okay while you travel/​commute.
Out on the sidewalk along Smith Avenue you might encounter members of the Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee exercising their right of freedom of speech, which is a good thing since they’re the only thing standing between you and the inevitable collapse of civilization. Just have a look at Everett Station.
Of course, if you’re a drug addict you should feel right at home, with both the Everett Gospel Mission and Snohomish County Jail within five blocks of Everett Station. Directly north of Everett Station is Lowe’s Home Improvement, an excellent source of items to shoplift to feed your ever-​worsening drug habit. Broadway Avenue is two blocks to the west, an opportunity to perform sex acts for drug money. Interstate 5 is located four blocks to the east, your best bet to get run over when wandering around half-​blind in a heroin stupor. Naturally, anywhere in that vicinity would be perfect for public defecation.
It’s hard to believe Everett Station opened only about a decade ago. It feels like it’s been here WAY longer than that. Damn.

While it is illegal to smoke here, security and supervisors will only make you stop if you are under a certain age. Apparently, seniors do not have to follow no smoking law in Everett. The security here is EXTREMELY rude and (by their own admission) can only handle one thing at a time. If something is happening, all rules and regulations go out the window.

This the first time to ride Amtrak. There was a gentleman at the ticket machine to help us and this was very helpful. We rode from Everett, WA to Seattle to watch a ball game at Safeco field. The scenery on the train ride was beautiful. Ride was comfortable and bathroom was clean. This was a great stress free way to travel.

So i got on the bus at the casino road to mall station and the bus driver was quite angry. He was really rude to me I was getting on the bus and i was listening to music and instead of politely show to take my headphones off and turn music down he screamed «take your fucking headphones off while I’m fucking talking to you»

There is a pretty crazy mix of people there who will leave you alone for the most part. Unless they see you with cigarettes or realize you have change. I felt pretty safe over there. When I smoke cigarettes I always try to hid so nobody bums smokes off me.

Depending on the time of day, Everett Station seemed fabulous or frightening. This is the hangout for a lot of people who are boisterous and opinionated.
There are benches in the lower level where Amtrak and Greyhound ticket counters are, also an espresso shop fro your coffee needs. All the actual bus stops are outdoors and mostly uncovered.
Minus for having poor signage about where certain buses arrive and depart from and also for not having anyone on duty to answer questions except the security guard in the corner (who didn’t know many answers).
Long-​term Parking is free in the lot to the left of the building, just make sure to register with security if your stay is long.

I like Everett Station. :)
The station is served by many routes of many transportation agencies. The station is served by Community Transit, Skagit Transit, Island Transit, Sound Transit, Everett Transit, Amtrak, Greyhound, and taxis.
These routes include Community Transit’s «Swift», from Everett Station to Aurora Village, Skagit Transit ‘s 90X, from Everett to Mt Vernon, Island Transit’s 412C to Camano Island, Sound Transit’s 532, from Everett to Bellevue, to name a few.
The station is patrolled by a 24-​hour security guard, which I really like. There is a little bit of litter, and sometimes, parking can be tough to find.
But, in the end, I like Everett Station. :)

If they would inforce their no smoking policy it would be great. all the cigarette buts all over make it nasty. Also needs ORCA card readers south of the trains where most of the parking is.

It’s a beautiful building and right off the freeway (I-​5). Free parking for 2 hours which is great. The attendants inside were helpful, but not exactly the friendliest. But that can be explained by the people they are attending. My experience involved a loud mouthed, possibly home less guy running up on my friends and I when he thought we were stealing his newspaper he left on the bench (mind you, he was across the waiting room for some reason).
I’ve heard bad things about most citizens in this city (dubbed «eveROT») and I can see why people get that impression.
But my friend took the train and said it was a pretty ride up to Canada.

For some reason, I had a tougher time mapping out my route online recently. I was still able to get to where I wanted to though, and I’m still a fan. Freakin’ 50 cents! If only the bus service in the po-​dunk Tri-​Cities could take cues from the ET! Everytime I saw the #23 pass on by, I was like — that’s MY bus! :)
