Everett Home and Garden Show

Ok, first off, it bugs me to have to pay admission to some place for people to then turn around and try to sell me something. Why do I DO that?
Second, this is the first and last time I will go to this. Reason? I took names/​cards/​info. of 3 landscapers and 1 concrete restorer from this show. Here is what happened.
I contacted each of the 3 landscapers. The first one — I never heard back from. The second one, I made an appointment with the guy, I was home at the appointed day/​time, he never showed up. When I called his office, I was told he was on an «emergency» call somewhere in south Seattle. Uh huh. Third guy, he did return my call, said he was busy that week and he’d call me back. Still waiting more than 2 months later.
The concrete restorer — again, I had an appointment. I’m home at the appointed time/​hour. He doesn’t show. Next day, I get a voicemail on my office phone telling me he couldn’t remember what day/​time our appointment was but he thought we had one. Could I call him back? Don’t think so.
Business must be really really really good for people who attend/​participate in these shows. And it must be good for people who don’t attend these shows also because I’ve been looking for about 3 months for someone to repair/​replace decks and I can’t get quote one.
I don’t know what local businesses are thinking but there is no need to attend this show. Take your time and look up businesses with the BBB. At least there you’ll get a rating and then, maybe, someone will show up.
