Steak ‘n Shake

We went on a Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Wow! What a bad experience. 1^st of all, when our party of 3 arrived, we had to wait in line for about 20 minutes before being seated. There was 2 couples in ahead of us. We all waited even though there was a booth and 3 tables open. Should have known to leave then but our daughter really wanted to eat here. After finally getting a place to sit, it took another 20 – 25 minutes to have our order taken. Again, should have known enough to leave but we didn’t. When our order was taken, we were brought our shakes quickly enough but not our food. We like to actually drink our shakes with our food so we waited. When our food arrived it was all correct and tasted great but our shakes were pretty much flavored milk by then.
In all, it took 1hr 45mins from the time we walked in until we left. In that amount of time, we could have went and had a dinner at one of t he steak restaurants or even drove home and cooked ourselves. Very unhappy.

Love the food, hate the service. Waited over 20 minutes before leaving due to servers off doing other things instead of seating people at all the empty tables… and there were a LOT of empty tables. Until this place gets better staff/​service, we are done eating there.

Slow service and a fairly dirty fast food place. I don’t think all Steak and Shakes are like this but don’t go to this one. I’ve been here a couple of times hoping that it would be better, but it’s hasn’t. You’re better off going down the Lloyd expressway to Burkhardt or Green River and picking from any of the other chain restaurants.

Awesome food and very good price. Everything that I ordered was very fresh, tender, no greasy. The only problem is that the waiters are very slow with customers and they should pay more attention to get better satisfaction from customers. Best.

I am a huge fan of Frisco melts and shoestring fries but was sorely disappointed to NOT get to eat them at this Steak and Shake location. Never have I ever gotten up and left a restaurant before, but today I did. The location was dirty — the employees’ uniforms were all soiled (sleeves, aprons, hands… the works), the floors were sticky and visibly filthy, the table tops had remnants of the last customer’s food, and every other visible surface made me cringe with the thought of how many microbes must love living there. Also, the service was incredibly slow. I love Steak and Shake, but come on, Evansville! Get it together.

This place is nasty! I wish I could not give them a star at all! This place is going down hill. The floor is so nasty looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was dust hanging off everything. I got a Frisco Melt burger that was just half ass thrown together. It had one ok steak patty and a little bitty one on it. I was really disappointed with our visit here. Don’t even get me started on the bathrooms there. I’ve seen cleaner bathrooms all at a runner down truck stop. This place used to be awesome. Now not so much!

I’m a pretty patient person, but Steak and Shake tested my patience tonight. I stood at the front of the restaurant for 5 minutes without being acknowledged. All I wanted was a takeout order. I finally ordered a Frisco melt and fries. It took over 15 minutes. Should have gone through the drive through. When I got the food, it was also cold. Pretty ridiculous.

my friends and I entered the store at 10:19 pm. they close at 11:00pm. we waited 2 minutes to be seated. we had a waitress seat us and then they proceeded to ignore us. we waited 20 minutes with no drink order and they didn’t even acknowledge us. there was 4 people on the floor and more than 5 in the back. another person was seated seated next to us 3 minutes after we were seated and waited the equivalent amount we did before 20 minutes went by and both of the tables were not visited. they didn’t even say hi. and they were lounging around laughing and joking in the back and left tables unclean and the floor dirty. they had 4 tables and half were already ordered. the other 2 was us and the other customer who has not been serviced. a waitress did say to another coworker that the floor was not clean and how they haven’t finished their task and that were off task. as we proceed to walk out the door because we were fed up with the waiting. the customer next to us and we exited the building but before we left the staff said loudly: «WOW HOW RUDE OF THEM!»

Literally messed up my order the last three visits. Never going back. It’s not that hard. No mayonnaise please. Friendly staff not that great at the job

Just ate breakfast here. I had the platter with eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, hash browns and a bread choice. It was very good. I ordered eggs over medium, and they were a little under done for my taste, but the boyfriend gobbled them up. I chose to have bacon and sausage and added a side of gravy for my biscuit. My boyfriend got the country skillet and he says this is going to be our new regular breakfast spot. It was less than $ 20 for the 2 of us. I did have extras added, without those it would have been more like $ 15. We will definitely be back.

Went thru the drive thru for lunch. This was the worst food that I have ever had in my life. Will not be going back again. Fries were like rubber and the burger was cold. Think they might want to change their advertising about it is worth the wait. I don’t think so.

Being a West Coaster — the typical places for a burgers is either In-​n-​Out (south) Dick’s Drive In (Seattle) and 5 Guys. Steak N Shake really impressed me!, they had a great selection of options and the shakes Yum-​oh! While visiting Evansville, there was one not to far from our hotel, and nothing like a great shake after a long day of visting family
