A lot of people keep calling this place a dive bar, but I certainly wouldn’t classify as that at all. First of all, there was a cover charge just to get in the door, which rules it out of dive bar status in my opinion. Also, it was absolutely packed, which doesn’t fit my definition of a dive bar either. If dive bar means the place has seen better days and the patrons are as entertaining to watch as the live music, then it does give you that. We walked in the door at around 10:30 on a Saturday night, and after paying the $ 4 per person cover, got lucky to find a table that people were just getting up from. It looked like we got one of the last ones available, but they kept packing people in for standing room. We had a server come to the table to get orders. Their tap list was one of the more unimpressive I’ve seen in quite a while, but if you aren’t looking for anything decent, you will have plenty of options. This is definitely more of the type of place to get buckets of ice planted with 5 or so bottles of beers whose names adorn the interior through neon signs and banners, or pitchers of stuff so light you could drink a full one solo and not get a buzz. Beers on tap come in plastic cups that definitely didn’t look pint sized, and were probably 12 oz pours. The crowd did have a little bit of everything. The Harley Davidson clothing store definitely cleaned up with the majority of the people here. There were also a strange mix of middle aged men wearing Ed Hardy or Tap Out clothing, and an equal amount with tie dye and Grateful Dead shirts. That being said, it was a fun crowd of people who were all having a good time and enjoying the atmosphere and music. I’d say the median age was probably somewhere around the late 30’s or early 40’s, which is good or bad depending of what you are looking for. The live band was playing on a stage in the back room. You could see it from where we were sitting in the front room, and it looked like most seats in the place had a view of the stage. The band was good. It is definitely a fun place to go if you are looking to sing along with a bunch of drunk people. It wasn’t too ridiculously loud inside compared to some live music venues, but it was live music so it wasn’t quiet. They also have an outdoor area, but unless you want to get your fill of second hand smoke, probably avoid going outside. The only food we had here was a Styrofoam contain full of fries covered in cheap cheese sauce, but if you need some late night drunk food, this seems to be a place for it. This is certainly a bar with a fun atmosphere and is obviously a popular spot with a unique variety of patrons. Live music is their calling card, and they seem to have a lot of it, although they do charge a cover. It’s the kind of place that I need to be in the right mood going into the evening to have a good time at, but to each their own.

Fun dive bar with strong drinks. Service was spotty but I’d be back for drinks with friends for sure.

Stopped in for lunch today. Completely ignored by wait staff even though only 3 tables occupied. Got up and left so I can’t comment on the food although I was looking forward to trying it for the first time.

Lamasco’s for dinner was a good choice. Two Hearted Ale on tap. Good chili cheese fries, Gyro and fries. We will return when there is entertainment, as the expanded stage area looks great!

Great place«dive bar style» The staff knows what they are doing and is a fun loving bunch. The food is good and they have live music on the weekends. $ 5 cover. I am not sure how I feel about the new expansion they did. I kinda preferred it when it was cozier. All and all a great place to go with lots of interesting people to talk to. :)

This place is fun! In from out of town and have been to about 5 places so far. I don’t know if it’s the best in Evansville, but it’s the best I’ve seen so far. Great banks and cool place and lots of people

Great food good service strange though. This is the only bar I have ever eaten out where the waitress bragged that they power was the parking watch regularly. Humm tough neighborhood?

This is rapidly becoming my favorite bar in Evansville. It straddles the fine line between neighborhood bar and nightclub perfectly. The live music is some of the best you’ll ever find. I’m talking about original music. None of the typical cover bands you normally see in bars of this variety. The $ 5 pitchers of Coors is the best beer deal anywhere in town. The staff and patrons are lively and kind. I always leave with the feeling that I’ve made new friends.

Lots of fun, saw Rumpke Mountain Boys, had chicken sandwich and fries was very good, hubby got the sliders, had $ 5 pitchers of Coors and $ 8 pitchers of wells!!! Sound of the band was great and small and cozy! Employees were very friendly and kept checking to make sure you didn’t need anything. Will definitely go back

Lamascos is a good bar but I have been finding their kitchen lacking as of late. The bartenders and waitresses are always nice and the drink prices are in reason. Their food just used to be better. If you’re from out of town and it’s the weekend it’s definitely worth rolling to.

Lamasco is the best bar in town, hands down. There really is no better place to catch a live band in Evansville. They have a great selection of beer on tap and the service is excellent. Some nights, I try another bar just to see if Evansville has anything else to offer… and I always end up coming back to Lamasco.

Great place for music and the food is good too. You won’t find better live music in town. Lamasco Bar and Grill is a great find and Amy does a great job of mixing up the talent.

LaMasco Bar & Grill has been a favorite of mine for years. I was when I heard that it had changed owners but Amy has made it her own. She has updated the décor and made it more band friendly and the food, drink, and service are still tops. If you are looking for a nice place for a drink and even just a bite to eat. Stop in and see them.
