I’ve shopped here for my 11 month old son several times and have never been disappointed. I’ve also received gifts from here that we have loved-his very first toy in fact! Although some items are pricier, they also have good sales. I’ve never had a problem with anything falling apart, etc. Highly recommend!

Even if you don’t have kids, this boutique is sure to make you want to find a kid to buy something for. Maya Papaya is primarily a clothing store, and let me tell you… it’s cuuuuute and the owner is super sweet. I’ve been coming here for years, and though my kiddos are too old now for the clothes, they still have a small selection of gifty items, fun for all ages. From trivia card games to books, their section of toys is geared toward the younger crowd. The clothes are well-edited, and you’ll find a fairly mid-to upper scale collection of both boys and girls clothing and onesies for infants with cute sayings like *Bundle of Oy*! And, they also carry adorable shoes. For the parent who wants to take a chill moment, they also have a nice seating area where you can take a break from the kiddie rat race. This store used to be down the street and around the corner. Their new location is much bigger and right on the corner. I’ve never had a problem getting rockstar street parking out front, but take note, there is a small step up for those with strollers. But, I’m sure Simone will be more than happy to hold the door :-)

I want to shop here but can’t get in the store. Every entrance has steps. Not wheelchair or stroller friendly.

I need to respond to the owners’ comments. 1. She said I tried to return an item after heavy usage. First of all, I told her my son had worn it once and I had washed it once(I know — I should wash his clothes before he wears them but typically I don’t). She did not look at or touch the outfit. She merely told me she wouldn’t take it back. 2. She was quite clear that she was not going to take it back and was rude to me. I did not lose my cool. In fact, I said okay, turned around and left her shop. Also, after writing my review, I remembered that I received a gift from this store at my baby shower last year. Super cute PJ’s but the zipper broke on it. My son probably wore it 5 times. I didn’t try to return it. Let the buyer beware here! If you have lots of money to waste on cute clothes that literally fall apart, this is the place for you!

We shop here often because the clothes are adorable but more so because the owner is so wonderful. It’s definitely boutique clothing but its moderately priced with fantastic sales and a nice loyalty program. I especially love the hair clip selection since we lose a hair clip a week and replace often.

I’ve been in here 3 times over the last month. Haven’t always purchased something. I want to write because(1) there isn’t a review yet and(2) my experience here has been uniformly positive. Quick preface: Generally, I’m a little nervous about children’s boutiques. More than once, I’ve had the experience of a massively over-priced store with flat-out snobby staff behind the counter. I’m willing to pay for quality clothes and I don’t have any major social difficulties that have been brought to my attention. So I get really tired of boutiques that really don’t want to sell to me(greet me, exchange pleasantries, whatever). I don’t shop for prestige, and I’m not there to slowly ingratiate myself to people who don’t want my business. I don’t generally review those places, because it just seems to be abundantly apparent from the moment you walk in the door(and aren’t greeted… or whatever). THAT all said, this is why I like Maya Papaya. It’s NOT like other boutiques. The staff has been uniformly friendly. They greet you warmly and want you to know about any specials. They are curious to know what you want to buy, but don’t follow you around the store and pressure, either. The clothes are higher-end than big box retail, but I’d been willing to spring for that one special outfit. Quality colours, fabrics, and style. They carry See Kai Run shoes, which really are worth the investment. I have seen more than one 20% coupon for this place(though I haven’t used it) and they actually seem to run specials/sales. The store has a fun vibe, and feels warm, not princess-y. They carry sizes from baby well into larger-kid. Plenty of stuff for guys. I think they are closed on Mondays.
