I went to a stylist here that was let go for no reason! I called to get her current location and they would not give it to me. Awesome salon and very pretty inside. Great location but terrible to their employees and over priced for sure! Have to pay the high rent I guess

It appears the owner Tracy Gambrell has the stylists in fear of their job on a daily basis and will terminate for no reason at all. I have gone there for years but I have zero respect for people that bully their employees. I will no longer go there being she terminated my stylist that I really enjoyed. This is probably why a lot of the women look unhappy to be there. I don’t blame them.

I still don’t understand the negative reviews. I went on Friday. Everyone seems happy to me! Regan washed my hair. She discussed hair«therapy» treatments with me, which I have had before and desperately needed. She gave me a hair lab loyalty bonus card. Life has been very stressful for me this summer. Rebecca, Regan and Monica have always taken extra care to make sure my time at the sink is a relaxing one with a head or neck massage. Regan said my hair would be amenable to a blow drying straightening style. I had concerns as when I went to the Charlotte Quidad Salon I listened to a stylist tell a client that the Brazilian blow out was not drying. Having researched this, I knew better and shuttered as the woman next to me loved her curls and feared damage. Regan explained in careful and convincing detail why this would not be the case. She explained every product she was using in my hair, how and why. There were five. All Karastase. She explained that I needed to carefully remove the water from my hair as she did. There were products to make the hair shaft lay flat, to nourish, strengthen, heat protect and a finishing nourishing oil. She discussed the brush she would be using…(ceramic round) and why. She explained in what order to dry segments of my hair and why. After she was finished I really could not believe my eyes. My hair was AMAZINGLYBEAUTIFULANDGORGEOUS. TV reporter hair I called it! After a life of curly thick unruly hair I was thrilled when I learned of Quidad in Boston. I was thrilled when I started going to Tangles–(A Quidad salon). Monica makes my curly hair beautiful. Regan did something to my hair I had no idea it could do! Behave and be beautiful! Now when I get my Quidad cut I can switch my looks up. Fun. Fresh. Fantastic. I sent my sisters a picture labeled«My Miracle Salon» My sisters said, «Wow, nice. Love it» and«Who is that girl with the beautiful hair? Beaut-ious!» My niece(who convinced me to try a new salon when I switched to Tangles of Evans) said, «Gorgeous!!» My husband said, «your hair always looks beautiful but this is very different. Very pretty.» There were tons of complements at our usual Friday night spot. My favorite from a 24 year old very quiet nice young man we know. He said, «Every time I see you, you look younger and younger.» Does it get any better than that. Regarding the cost– truly it is in line with other salons. You get what you pay for. On Friday I paid for a relaxing afternoon at the salon and easily two dozen complements. I paid for looking in the mirror and going… wait…what? me? Oh my… pretty hair. One last thing… Last month at my dentist office… one of the technicians told me, «You are the only one I know who can let their hair down from a bun and have her hair look beautiful instantly.» That… is a properly executed and cared for cut! That is Tangles of Evans. Katy K.

Amy McDade gave me a horrible haircut! It seemed she was doing a decent job until she grabbed up a handful of hair on each upper side of my head & she started chopping into my hair like a mad woman– Amy claimed it was to thin out my thick hair. Guess what Amy — thick hair is a good thing to have!!! I’ve been growing out your mess for 10 months — maybe by Christmas my hair will be back to the normal condition it was when I came to you!!!

I visited Tangles frequently over the 2+ years I lived in Augusta. Amy H. was my stylist every time and she always did a fabulous job. For cuts, highlights, eyebrows and anything else make an appointment with Amy H. You won’t be disappointed!

I love this salon! I’m new to the area and was referred to Tangles by a friend. The inside is clean and stylishly decorated. They have a unique way of having you change into a smock. But if you’ve ever had a stylist stain your clothes with dye(which, has happened to me) then you understand that they just want to ensure that your shirt does not get ruined. Another difference is you actually go to a mixing bar where the color is made right in front of you. My stylist’s name is Katie and she’s absolutely lovely. She listens and takes her time to figure out exactly what you want. I dye my hair red and it can be difficult to find the perfect shade but she helped me and I love my hair!!! Ive never had so many compliments on my hair before! Everyone there is so nice and the salon is beautiful. If you get the chance I highly recommend this salon!

I’ve been getting my hair cut here for a year or two now and my experiences have gone slowly downhill. My main problem is that the stylists never seem very happy to work there. The stylist I used to see, who no longer works here, at least put forth effort to make conversation. The stylists I’ve seen since have not done the same. They’re not overtly rude, but they aren’t particularly friendly either. It makes for an awkward and silent 30 – 60 minutes. And with all that talking NOT going on, you start feeling bored and need something to settle your eyes on. If you happen to be lucky enough to be sitting in one of the chairs that faces the TV, you’ll soon realize that the only thing playing is a 2 minute Kerastase commercial on loop. Tangles stylists do good work, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth all the awkwardness. For a $ 50 trim & blow dry, I expect my service with a smile. **ETA: I’ve gone back once more, this time to see a new stylist. She did a great job and she was actually friendly.
