Humboldt Smokehouse

The food here is amazing! Not crazy about the set up in terms of order, sit and wait but I love the food here. The BBQ wrap is genius and I’ve never had one that I didn’t love. My daughter loves the BBQ quesadilla and chips!

I had the cadillac and it was delicious. The food was deliver to me within 3 min even though they had nearly a full house. The cashier was friendly and professional which helped promote the positive vibes which were felt throughout the store. I only rate a 4 because nothing is perfect. I will visit again

I had spare ribs that were really tender. The bbq sauce was fantastic. There were 2 different coleslaws, spicy & creamy. The spicy was too much for me, the creamy was very good. I’m not a fan of potato sslad, this was ok. My wife had the bbq plate with «burnt ends», baked beans & coleslaw mish mosh, she liked it alot. The meat was very tender.
We would come here again.

A friend recommended Humboldt Smokehouse to us. I am glad that he did! We had lunch here. I had the box and omy husband had the sandwich, both with burnt ends as our meat selection. My husband had the spicy coleslaw, which he loved and I had the regular coleslaw and the baked beans which were both good. We both liked the barbecue sauces.
We didn’t realize until after we ate that there is an area you can sit outside. This would be a great place to grab lunch to take to the beach!

Wow, just left with a full belly and a large SMILE:). You do not want to leave Eureka without eating the best smoked delicious meats on the west COAST! I had the pork belly, the best we ever had. The owners, Dave and Laura were friendly and knowledgeable. During our conversation with Dave, I asked about burnt ends. He gave us a sample and let me just sum it up with one word, YUM!!! Thanks HSN. We loved it and will see you the next time we’re in town.

I’ve really tried to give these guys a fair shot but unfortunately I’d have to say their food all round stinks! The first couple times I went with friends and thought that I maybe had just ordered the wrong things since it was lousy both times, but on my 3^rd occasion I asked for their recommendation of what is their most popular dish and ended up with a «Cadillac burrito». It was simply awful, even the bacon was horrible! Who screws up bacon!?! Consumers Beware!

I just really, really wish they had ribs! Meat is good, the sides are horrible, beans have no love and the other sides are all mayonnaise based. Pretty good food for humboldt but the prices are a bit too high imo.

The food is pretty good, but the portion sizes have changed a lot in the last year and a half.
The burritos used to be massive.
Then they were average.
Now they are tiny.
When I went there last week it took about 20 minutes for our burritos to be made and there were 2 other couples inside already eating.

Tasty meats, I liked the Kansas City sandwich with burnt ends. Excellent flavors. But the portion sizes are just pitiful for the price. Really weak amount of meat. You get a mouthful of bread with a just a taste of meat. The sides need some help too. I’d easily give this place 4 stars but the service is often unreliable and the portion sizes certainly need improvement.

Amazing food, great customer service! This place is the place to go if you want yummy BBQ! The meat is mouth watering good. And the beans are super yummy!!! I will go back over and over again! Definitely giving 5 stars to this amazing place!

It’s a few minutes past 7. We stopped to grab dinner at 10 till 7 and the place was closed. Their hours are still posted on Unilocal as open till 8.
I’d give then more than one star, but the two previous visits were not up to par. The last visit — a to go order — waited over a half hour for them to get it together while we waited — the food was luke warm and they left out or 3 orders of scriracha bacon that we’d paid for. We live less than 10 minutes away so the food was probably never hot. It’s been several months and we were willing to give it another try. We may never try again.

Yummy meats and sides. Small portions for the cost. Nothing is organic. Seems everything is from Costco. Service is great friendly and helpful. Clean and nicely decorated. No beer… Bbq without beer is just not American.

I really appreciate to Laura, Jessica and all the staff. I was traveling around Oregon and California with my son. After having lunch there, i’ve left my camera in the restroom. I’ve remembered that i’ve left my camera there few days after. When i call them, they really worried about that and they were keeping it safely. Finally they sent it to me to my home in Texas! I really appreciate it. It was so impressive when i received my camera. It was packed so cautiously to be send without any damage. Thank you so much!

Who knew burnt ends was bbq beef? Loved it, pork belly, potato salad, deviled eggs and beans good, too.
Fast and reasonably priced.

Had the 3 meats BBQ box. Pork belly, chicken and burnt end. Only like the burnt end, the other are just so so.

Not sure why it was so highly rated. We all did not enjoy our food. We had a 3 meats platter with potato salad and baked beans, Kansas City sandwich with coleslaw and 1 deviled egg with pork belly and a kids sandwich of pulled pork.
First of all the potato salad was nasty. Horrible flavor. I did think it was made nicely but stilll, don’t judge a book by its cover. Baked beans were not good. All of us did not enjoy them. Coleslaw was okay, kind of blah tasting but by far better than the potato salad. And the deviled egg… I had assumed you got a full egg but NO. You get ½ egg for $ 1.50 for pork belly… NOT worth my money! I would never order again, it was ridiculous. And didn’t even taste all that good.
If you have kids don’t bother here. My 9 yr old brother got a ½ sandwich for 6 bucks… a HALF sandwich. NOTHING else came with his food.
This place is nothing to write home about. Seating is very limited, only 5 or 6 tables along the wall. Service was okay but not overly friendly. It’s a self clean up kind of deal and 5 choices of bbq sauce. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re really craving bbq.

A solid BBQ experience.
We had just arrived in Eureka and wanted a good meal. We Unilocaled and found the Humboldt Smokehouse. It is not a fancy place, but they serve good BBQ.
If you are in the area it is well worth a try.

Let me begin by saying that this is not real BBQ, I don’t care what they say. Do you smell true wood smoke whenever driving past this place? No! I did not see a smoker, see any smoke, or even wood for that matter. When we went the food was cold, the beans were fresh from the tub, along with the potato salad neither of these had any flavor and you could tell they were store bought.
The «Burnt Ends» we’re not burnt, the brisket seemed as if had came straight from a Crock-​Pot. The meat had no smoke flavor, my wife got the pulled pork and can say the same thing for it. No smoke flavor and where are the bark pieces? We tried saying something as we were very upset and their reply was «everyone here likes it.» Obviously referring that we were from out of town. Yes we are, and will tell you locals you are being fooled.
Next time you are down in Southern California stop by Hitching Post and see what real BBQ taste like, Smoking Pig is also a good example in the Bay Area. They have 2 huge smokers in plain sight with stacks of wood to go along with it. Don’t be fooled by this Dickeys in disguise.

Pretty good. Very nice staff, good food priced right for the Humboldt cost of a food meal. The Smokehouse Dip was great, other than the size. I had that, a side of potato salad, and a soda for $ 13.
Although I’d get the sandwich again, I’ll try something else next time. The burritos sounds good.
The potato salad was very runny, not creamy. I’ll definitely try the spicy slaw.
I’ll be back.
