Best Chinese food in Eugene! I have been going to the Jade Palace for nearly thirty years and have never been disappointed with anything. Service is always good– delivery and take out is great! I have tried many of their dishes– everything has always been delicious.

Don’t waste your time trying to dine in, the service was horrible and tables were so dirty. The food was outstanding though. So just call ahead and take it home

OK my lovely replied«Chinese» to my question about an early diner! After I got up off the floor, I gave her big kiss and a TYVM. So here we are — YUMM! My Kung Pao beef was very good! Ordered the medium hot and it was just right on the spot, just a little numbing of the lips. My wife had Chef’s Special Chow Mein and she had to take home enough for another meal. Would have taken a pic BUT one bite lead to another and before I could pick up my phone — someone had eaten all my food! Have eaten Chinese food at the«source» and this was like a step back to fifty years ago — stop with the math I’m old — will return!

talking for me, it is a great price getting what you can get at the price offered. while i have to admit, it is a small cramped place.

We’ve yet to find a good Chinese place here in Eugene & we saw the sign for the lunch buffet at $ 6.95 drink included which I thought was really good. Everything on the menu is pretty expensive so we thought we should try the buffet first to see if we like the food; there was barley anything for their«buffet». Very very few entrees, extremely disappointing & almost not worth it. The food was pretty good but still not a lot of choice so I’m not sure if this accomplished anything. We may or may not order take out for dinner so we can actually try some of their dishes. We’ll see but either way it was okay.

This was my 2nd visit. The place was quite when I dined in, although I was at the very back edge of the lunch rush. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken off of the lunch menu. I had not noticed that it came with a cup of Egg Flower soup, so that was a pleasant surprise. The main dish came quite promptly, within 10 – 15 minutes! The quantity was satisfying and very tasty. It had a great mix of veggies and white meat chicken. The white rice that came with it was cooked perfectly, not sticky. Not the top of the line gourmet best, but good for Americanized Chinese. I will be returning to the Jade Palace, and might start recommending it to people… Idk we will see.

Ordered takeout, was excited to try, but the chicken tasted extremely off,. For $ 40 I don’t want to worry about food poisoning.

This is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Eugene. That said, there are few things that should be understood. The restaurant is popular with Chinese students at the U of O for whom the cost of food doesn’t mean much. They come in droves and tie up kitćhen’s limited capacity, which leads to long delays. Second, the luncheon buffet, though cheap and tasty, is best avoided. Order any of the many excellent dishes on the menu. Recommended dishes: clay pot curry beef(popular with Chinese student customers), and the chef’s special chow mein. Also the Chingtao Chinese beer. My wife and I have been dining at the Jade Palace for more than 25 years, and really like this small, family owned and run restaurant.

Let’s just start out by setting some expectations here. People should realize that a $ 6.95 lunch buffet price(including beverage) is not going to supply the more expensive dishes. Hey, it’s a pretty great price, and I’ve been here several times. #1) Arrive when they open. The food is at its freshest, or most of it is. #2) If you want a giant buffet including seafood, sushi, and so on– go to the buffet in Springfield. It costs more money, but with that comes more variety. At Jade Palace, it’s a small selection of dishes, but all tasted pretty good. There are two soups(egg flower and hot & sour), fried won tons, veggie egg roll pieces, pot stickers, steamed rice, fried rice, a tofu dish, chicken in hot bean sauce, mar far chicken(basically batter fried chicken), a mushroom dish, honey pork, and chow mein. An assortment of sauces(sweet & sour, «wonder sauce», and garlic sauce. I tried everything but the mushroom dish(ew, and I’m allergic anyway), and it was all tasty. The décor– sure it’s a little cheesy but the place was clean, tables wiped down, and the buffet area was immaculate. That’s what really matters.

I should have taken note of the dimly lit run down 80’s dive bar theme of the dining area as hint of what to expect in the order I was picking up after waiting 45 mins… But I thought after all the Chinese cuisine failures in this town this one might at least satisfy my pallet. WRONG! Out of the 3 Entrees and 2 appetizers we received I couldn’t take a second bite out of anything other than the white rice… Tsu’s chicken soggy, spongy, bland. Lemon chicken same but with a little lemon zest. The Beef was an appetizing grey color with texture of boiled leather in a questionable lukewarm veggie soup and the BBQ pork had an off taste even Listerine had a hard time erasing. From one concerned citizen to another don’t risk eating here let alone wasting your hard earned money.

I went here today to eat at the lunch buffet. Food was decent, service was good, but man oh man I left that place with a pounding headache and achy body. I’m sensitive to msg content and this is the absolute worst reaction I have had in years. I had to sleep when I got home because I felt so awful, advil didn’t even help!

Been here several times. Not bad food. Very reasonable prices. Great specials! Large portions. My daughter loves the fried sweet potatoes. But the best part for me, is the awesome service! Very friendly and helpful! They are what keep me coming back!

Well, the food wasn’t worth the wait(over an hour) but it hit the spot. The Hot & Sour Soup looked questionable, and the taste wasn’t quite right. and the oversized eggrolls could have been much better if the oil been fresh(smelled and tasted of old oil). The BBQ Pork Chow Yuk was decent, but lacked in spice. The white rice is just standard, make-at-home rice(not good Chinese sticky rice)… at least that’s what I got. I don’t know if I’ll order from here again.

«There is only one boss-the customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.”-Sam Walton I write this as I sit and wait for food I ordered(to go) at 7:20, it is currently 8:33. No worries though, surfer bro said he doesn’t really know how much longer. Could be tricky since he said that there’s two tables ahead of me and each takes about 15 mins. 15+15=30(just in case you needed the visual) Born in Hong Kong, previously residing in San Francisco, and frequenting Hong Kong at least every other year; I think I’m a credible source. This is just a service rant because… I haven’t gotten my food yet. And I’d rather not waste another minute on this place reviewing the food. #thisplaceneedsgordonramsey

The chef’s special chow mein was amazingly good! I was highly reluctant to try this place again. Any Chinese restaurant in Eugene is just on the mediocre side. But I’ve given this place a chance, and it definitely depends on what you get. The egg drop soup is pretty nasty. The pineapple chicken is pretty good. Beef and broccoli. The waitresses are very friendly. The chef’s special chow mein is for 2 people. Shrimp, beef, chicken and vegetables. Delicious! Can’t wait to try it again! Yum!

My boyfriend and I had a pleasant experience on a quiet Sunday evening dining on mu-shu pork and chicken garlic with vegetables. Though ‘medium’ spicy could’ve had more heat, the chicken dish fulfilled our taste buds. How can one argue with tender chicken, crispy broccoli and cabbage, and garlic sauce? We equally enjoyed the flavorful and colorful mu-shu pork. The dinner fare started with a cup of egg drop soup that needed a bit of doctoring with soy sauce and a bit of pepper, and standard steamed rice accompanied our main dish. Our server and hostess accommodated us with a friendly service throughout. I certainly wouldn’t mind returning here for another casual dinner as the first experience exceeded my expectation.
