My husband and I always make a stop into this store when we are at the mall because we love it! I’ve always found the employees to be warm, welcoming, and helpful. I found a pair of shoes and was checking them out, and the employee working took a moment to explain what made them so awesome(they were pink and black, and the pink part became reflective in bright light, like a camera flash or car headlights) which was really cool. I appreciated the fact that this conversation didn’t come from a selling standpoint with pressure to buy. It was a conversation of look how cool these are. Every time I’ve asked for help(if an employee doesn’t check on me first) they’ve always been helpful. If they don’t have exactly what I’m looking for, they will try to find the closest thing and really are helpful. They always ask at the register if I’ve found everything I wanted. If not, they stop to find it. I’ve held up the line once or twice with trying to describe something and the employee going to show me what they’ve got. Prices seem a tad high, but I typically stick to Nike brand Oregon Duck apparel. So that always factors in too. They have a wide variety of apparel and accessories, and focus on the girly aspect of pink Duck gear too. So if I need my pink fix, this is where I go. They’ve also got slippers, baby clothes, car accessories, mugs, and a million other things. The store itself is insanely tiny and cramped for the amount of product they carry. It’s a decent sized store, but there’s a ton of stuff in there, so it’s pretty packed full, making it seem tiny. I highly recommend taking a look at how many people are inside before you go in. If I see a ton of people there, I’ll go wander around other shops before going in here, simply because I want to look at merchandise, not spent 15 minutes dodging all the Luther customers inside, or apologizing for running into a stranger. Like I said, it’s always a must to stop in when my husband and I are at the mall, and unless something drastically changes there, we will keep going.

Quack! Eugene has a Duck Store in VRC? I never knew. Well, I don’t live in Eugene any more and haven’t in many, many years, but a recent return visit alerted me to this location(primarily because I was staying at Valley River Inn) and I had to have a gander. This feathery outpost in the slightly sad mall that is VRC is definitely compact. A little corner outpost of duckiness with a few racks of clothing, some of the standard auto and personal accessories, and a big heaping pile of yellow and green. The selection here is fairly limited, especially when compared to the big daddy Duck Store down on 13th, but they do have some items you might need in a pinch. I did find a shirt here in a size that wasn’t available down on 13th, but most of what I came for did not exist. The young staff running the store are par for the course for VRC employees(and trust me, I have a surprisingly deep knowledge about this, for reasons I don’t care to admit). So if you happen to be shopping at VRC(why?) or staying at VRI(not a bad choice), this is definitely the most convenient place to stock up on game day gear, or casual supporters wear. Quack quack!
