The Shores Restaurant at Lake Shore Lodge

Not a good meal. Cold tasteless food. Soup that tasted like Prego from a jar. Ice cold grilled portabello sandwich with a lump of congealed plastic masquerading as cheese served open faced on soggy bread. My mate had mac and cheese that made Kraft look gourmet. Waiter was a nice guy though.

Went there for Mother’s Day breakfast, 2011. Overall, very poor experience.
First of all, a very good view!
Food however: crappy food and service.
We had a reservation for 6. When we showed up, there was a party of 4 sitting at the only table for 6, so they gave away our reservation to someone else.
Coffee was cold first thing. We asked for a fresh pot of coffee. Remember, this was on Mother’s Day morning and we had reservations!
I had the «Classic» (eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns). Eggs were burnt. Toast was 10 minutes after the rest of my food and was barely toasted (still bread on one side, and hardly toasted on the other — how f’ing hard is it to make toast?). Bacon was overcooked. Hash browns looked like they were scraped from the bottom of the left-​over bin.
My wife ordered the Texas french toast with almonds. Guess what? Normal, thin, bread, no almonds.
We complained a bit to the waiter and they took $ 10 off the bill, but still, I’d recommend *nobody* going there for their breakfast meal. Dinner could be a completely different story, and they could’ve had a bad day today, like their chef quit and the bus boys had to figure out how to cook things or something, but our experience was not enjoyable.
