If you ever roll through Espanola, New Mexico(about 20 miles north of Santa Fe) make sure to make a stop here. The first time I was in Espanola I saw the cool sign and had to stop. Inside was a small liquor store with a great variety of beers, wines, and hard alcohol. A decent selection of New Mex and Colorado micro brews too. We just had enough time to buy a shirt and some sodas and get on our way. So this last time we found ourselves in Espanola we made a point to stop again, and do what I could never imagine doing in a California liquor store, open up my beer and enjoy it right there in the store. They have a small table and a handfull of stools for your comfort if you want to suck down your suds inside. We chatted with the owner, who by the way was a hell of a nice guy, and learned that this is far from usual in New Mexico also. Something to do with it being an older license or something… I forget. Anyways 5 stars for the novelty of this place, the friendly and very accomodating owner, the cool shirts, and the excellent booze selection.
