Very good and fresh. I had the Asada fries but decided to make it with half fries and half tortilla chips. They did that quite easily. I got extra red and green sauce on the side as well. Thank guys. You Rock!

You gotta try the sopes de pastor. Great! Ask them to dip the sope in the enchilada red sauce. They are big so if your use to eating four of these then only order two.

Pretty good place, I’m a big fan of their carne Asada and tripas, I haven’t tried any of their other plates but they look good, I wish they had authentic adobada. They only thing I had an issue with is that I showed up and hr before they closed, so I saw the cook get the pre-cooked meat from the fridge and put it on a microwave which I didn’t like. But I guess as long as going forward I show up early it shouldn’t happen, other than that I give this place a 4 star review bucause they tacos are good.

My buddies have brought me carry out from here for some time. I love it, especially the chicken burritos. Absolutely five stars for that! Recently I treated a group of five to eat here. Quarters can be a little cramped, but it is the food, the service and the people that work here that make the place, not the physical plant. Conveniently located, small, not really intimate, but a good time. This is becoming one of my regular hang outs.

Ok, I just love this place. Everyone makes you feel welcome and the food is excellent. I like the torta cubana. The food reminds of Cuernavaca, Morelos… Its a great shop.

Great food, friendly service! I’ve been here a few times now so far I’ve tried California burrito, fish tacos(they use lettuce instead of cabbage is my only complaint but still very good!), shrimp burrito(actually has a good amount of shrimp in it!). But all very I good, and fresh tasting! You can see directly in the kitchen, and it appeared to be cleaned and we’ll maintained! And the prices are actually lower than the drive thru taco shops in the area! I will be coming here again for sure!

Had an adobada mulita. They used a flour tortilla which was odd since I usually Mulita it up with corn. The meat was ok, but not as good as Tacos Del Gordo or La Taquiza across the street. I may try them again, but I was not as impressed with their flavor as I thought I would be. As I have mentioned before, I base my Mexican reviews on my adobada experience.

Dirty tables greeted us & stayed dirty covered with dishes until we asked for them to clean the last table 4 us! The food is very much ok, nothing awesome except how tiny this place is=4 tables. I’m sure there are better choices even tho that had an Entertainment coupon BoGo, that wasn’t easy to use either … PS: some of the worst guacamole I’ve had in 30 years living in San Diego

Left the Wild Animal Park and drove to this place to eat. There were four of us. I ordered the Chile Relleno burrito while my friends ordered different types of quesedillas. We were all happy with our food and the salsa was pretty amazing. I was pretty happy with this taco shop trip! I wish they were closer to us.

This truly is the epitome of a «hole in the wall», they have Authentic Mexican food, I imagine that the owners are from Morelos, a state neighboring Puebla & Mexico City. Anyways the only thing I have tried from here are the Alambres, which are similar to fajitas only that they add cheese and some other stuff on there. For the amount of food you get, it is ridiculously affordable… an alambre won’t even set you back $ 10 and it definitely satisfies my carnivore cravings. They offer about 5 or 6 different types of alambres as well as your mainstream taco shop fare such as tacos, burritos, carne asada fries, etc. The cashier girl is nice(& cute) hehe, the other people there(which I imagine are the owners are nice too), very humble patrons. Definitely one of those underrated Mexican joints only people living in the surrounding areas would know about. As a friendly suggestion, I would not go here with a party of four or more as it has a quite small seating area. I do recommend this place to anyone in the area who wants some good authentic(non-Gringo-tized) Mexican food. P. S. Food can be a little a greasy, but I’m sure you know what you’re getting into, because let’s face it, Healthy Mexican food is an oxymoron us San Diegans are all too familiar with, and if it is healthy… then it probably isn’t real Mexican food. P. P. S. I hope my review has been of beneficial use to you Unilocalers. Deuces & happy gluttony yo

Guacamole was some strange green watered down liquid. yuck! Carne Asado fajitas were just OK. They put cheese on top, which I’ve never seen done and didn’t like. The nachos with pollo were good.

This little dive is located in a tiny drive-right-by-because-you-don’t-even-know-it’s-there strip of stores. I only found it because I had an Entertainment coupon and wanted to try somewhere new. San Diego in general is crawling with Mexican food restaurants; there are many great ones but they generally serve the same dishes with their own small variations. So I was happily surprised that Taqueria Morelos was not only authentically tasty, but also offered some unique dishes that I’ve never had before, and are probably only available in larger restaurants. You order at the counter, pay, then either take out or sit down and they will bring your meal to you. Since I was really hungry I ordered one of their Alambre dishes and a shrimp taco. The Alambre came served up in a little skillet with little baby corn tortillas on top and was SO delicious but, CAUTION — — it was prepared over the top on the spicy hot scale – I mean my mouth was glowing, so it was definitely not for the faint of palate. Next time I’ll ask them to tone it down a bit. The delectable shrimp taco was so big it really qualified to be a burrito. No doubt I over-ordered but had plenty for lunch the next day. Not much English is spoken here, either by the staff or the customers. I speak some Spanish, but only enough to confuse those who are fluent. The older woman at the counter was very nice and in spite of the language barrier, was very gracious. Nods and smiles and hand gestures got us through the ordering process and the meal. The whole eating area is about the size of my living room at home, only a few tables available. Three kinds of hot sauce are already on the table and they bring two more kinds with the meal. It’s not as if you needed to add any more! The napkins are tissue-thin so you build up a pile of them at the table, but that’s kind of part of the charm of the place. It’s not starched and fancy, waiters aren’t hovering over you, and the décor is a little random but I gave it 5 stars because, for home-cooked authentic Mexican food, this IS as good as it gets.

We had an entertainment coupon for this place and decided to give it a try… really glad that we did. The food was delicious! The fajitas were served on a sizzling cast iron skillet, and included homemade tasting tortillas and yummy rice and beans. The gal that works there was very nice and patient with us… so many items to choose from on the menu. We will definitely be back again… deliciosos!

Wow! This is the«hole in the wall» you’re looking for. Enjoyed fajitas and the«surf & turf» skillet with steak, pork chops, shrimp, bacon, cheese, onions & peppers, tortillas and a side of guac. each plate about $ 8, very delicious and I had to take some home because the portion was so large. I NEVERTAKEFOODHOME! Additionally, I used a coupon from to get a BOGO to save $ 7. If you’re in Escondido, and want some tasty Mexican food at a great price, come here. yum!

Go for the tacos … Stay for the fajitas. This restaurant is subtitled Casa de los Alambres. The Traditional Fajita House! So I’d give 5 stars if the bathroom door wasn’t right in the dining room. You’ve heard of a «hold in the wall» restaurant… well this is it. Ah, but they make tacos very similar to dear old Mom’s, from back in the day when we didn’t worry so much about fat grams and heart attacks. This was some of the tastiest and most authentic, purist Mexican food, I’ve run across in years. My guy & I took Dad for Dad’s Day(his request), not expecting too much. We traveled about 50 miles each way, and it was well worth it, and this is why: Their tacos are deep fried(hard tortilla) with chunks of shredded beef, with lettuce, tomato, cheese filing. I had one, and a tasty chicken enchilada. Dad had a taco also(the purpose of the trip), and shared with his friend one of their signature dishes that smelled fabulous… it was platter of mixed beef, chicken, grilled onions, peppers and small tortillas, eaten fajita style… all was exceptional, and right up one’s alley if its real Mexican food you are looking for. Taqueria Morelos is not a place of fine dining, with fussy food — but rather a place of pleasant and hard working cooks & staff, dishing out good old fashioned SoCal Mexican, just like Mom used to make.
