I had their food several times since I moved here and it is awesome for being inside of a gas station. But today I had the soup! Definitely one of the best soups I have ever had!

I came in right at opening to grab a breakfast burrito and the lady was so friendly! Not to mention it was the best breakfast burrito I had ever had. It was made quick and to order. Highly recommend it!

Sooo delicious! I got the chicken soup(no surprise considering their so well known for it) I have been sick for a week and this soup totally hit the spot! So flavorful and definitely filling! And not to mention they aren’t shiesty with their portion size! I still had so much left over! I will definitely be back for more :)

The chicken soup is by far the best and works wonders for a cold, accidental hangovers, or when it’s just simply chilly out. The cook and cashier always put me in such a great mood with their sunny dispositions. I am so grateful to have stumbled upon this little gem that is oddly enough, located in a gas station.

The fish tacos are to die for! I don’t even like fish and they are amazing! Its a really good traditional Mexican restaurant so you get a lot with your money!

5 stars solely for the chicken soup. Not sure about the other food, as I only order the chicken soup! It takes like authentic caldo de pollo. It cures the soul! you.

The chicken soup is delicious, spicy and very addicting. It is served with a warm tortilla and a wedge of lime. I will keep coming back for the soup. I don’t even want to try another dish.

Known for their chicken soup. I’m glad they opened up a closer location without me having to drive all the way to Escondido blvd. to their original location from El Norte Pkwy. I’ve been to this location a handful of times and came here recently for some chicken soup. Atmosphere: this place is located inside the shell gas station. it’s very small but they do have about 4 tables if you decide to dine in. Food: phone ordered take-out for dinner about 30mins before they closed. –chicken soup(this time the broth was saltier than usual) –carne asada burrito(i was watching the cook make the burrito and he was skimping out on the carne asada meat. basically more tortilla than meat) –carne asada chips(same goes for the chips. more chips than meat) Service: good thing i called my order in. there was only 1 cook and 1 cashier and 5 people waiting to place orders and a couple of people waiting for their food. the cashier told me my food will be ready in 10mins. so i arrived on time, however still had to wait an additional 10mins because of last minute rushes. it seemed like my order wasn’t placed until i got there and paid. Overall: this visit was disappointing. service lacked. food quality went down. portions of carne asada meat in the burrito and chips are not worth ordering. my order was over $ 15 and i didn’t get my free bag of chips & salsa as mentioned on their sign. i’m still a fan of their soup but other items are suspect at this location. will update again on my next visit.

Beyond the chicken soup, which might be a little overrated anyway, nothing here really impresses. Had a couple varieties of tacos they were meh to yucky. Service can be mechanical in nature and their obsession with not giving out extra hot sauce is poor form. Way too many other places to eat mexi-food in Escondido to settle for this stuff.

Chicken soup !!! best place for chicken soup, if your feeling that cold or flu coming on hit up this for some good old fashion homemade chicken soup. This is the first time I tried this location I usually go the restaurant at the other location. They are just as good here.

Food is always amazing here, but the attitude of the cashier leaves a lot to be desired, it’s not that hard to just smile and say good morning, also the food takes 17 minutes to cook, and I only got a burrito, definitely needs some improvement on the service side

Everyone is right about the chicken soup! We circled to find this place via Unilocal. We drove by the gas station car wash complex and thought Unilocal screwed up the location. It really wasn’t until we pulled into the gas station we saw a small sign mentioning Mexican food. It is a VERY small counter in the back corner of the gas station. We saw the reviews about the chicken soup so put it on the to do list. Glad we did. It was VERY good. The rice texture held up very well, firm and the broth was very flavorful. It had large pieces of shredded chicken in it. We put the soup here in the category of «must do» if we happen to be in this area. The people at the counter were very nice. There were some older Hispanic ladies in front of us(Took that as a good sign to the quality of food) and they were laughing with the register lady. The lady running the register was very nice as well. We decided to add a couple burritos to the order for picnicking later in the day. She ordered carnitas, I got chicken. Chicken beat the carnitas in this case. Chicken burrito was very good. One downer is the gas station has an awesome selection of craft beers but you are not allowed to partake while eating food from the inside restaurant.

Don’t knock this place until you try it! Its located inside of the Shell gas station. I usually take it to go but I don’t mind eating inside. This one is actually the 2nd location in Escondido, the bigger one is a mile or two down. I like to go to this one because its literally down the street from my place. My usual order is their Chicken Soup. If you’re filipino, like me, then you might say this dish resembles arroz caldo. I get the full portion, its twice as much but worth every penny. inside the dish it consists of some kind or rich broth, the chicken is so tender and just falls apart so beautifully. Theres also rice, avocados, cilantro, and onions. I like to add half a portion of their red hot sauce to get my nose running in full gear. This is good especially on a cold day. If you feeling extra hungry like myself then order an extra flour tortilla, it already comes with one and goes good when you tear it apart and dip it into the soup. Carrots also go along way as well. The lady there should know me by now. I think i go there at least once a week. Its THAT good. Trust me. I was shocked to find this place. I’ll definitely be back.

I would have rated this place with 2 stars, but their lack of customer service brought it down a point. My 76 year old mom was complaining of not feeling well and feeling chilled. Being that she sounds like she is coming with something, I thought some of this famous chicken soup might make her feel better. I started to order the large serving, but after seeing the size, I opted for the smaller size. After all, how much will a senior citizen actually eat? The cashier told me that I could not change my order, even though money had not been exchanged yet and I hadn’t finished ordering… until she hassled me over changing my order; I then decided NOT to order any other items off of their menu). Afraid they might spit in the food, I said fine; large it is. I asked for the items that came with the soup to be put on the side. For such a large portion of soup, they were pretty skimpy on the rest of the ingredients. The avocado was scarce(probably close to 2 tablespoons worth). There was a dinky container of Mexican rice, cilantro and onion and 1 slice of a lime. Very skimpy on the these ingredients! Lastly, the soup was NOT piping hot, but more luke warm. I was pretty disappointed. I won’t be going back anytime soon. Sorry to say; it was a very boring soup and the cashier was a very dull tack.

Stopped her for some gas and noticed they have a little restaurant inside the gas station selling Mexican food Score… well not really! They are serving up Mexican food and when their claim to fame is CHICKENSOUP I should have known better. Tacos, Burritos, Tortas, Quesadillas and a few other things with limited meat choices, they have a couple small tables inside if you wish to eat there. Quesadilla Supreme de Carne Asada — The Supreme quesadilla comes with *(Sour Cream, Guacamole and Beans) it had plenty of cheese, the asada was tender and had nice flavor but could have had a bit more meat overall not bad, two thumbs up for the beans. 3-Stars Taco de Pescado — First off Lettuce does not belong on a fish taco! it’s CABBAGE… and what the … is this? C’Mon that’s trash! fish was nice and golden but still a bit soft no crunch at all, just a BADTACO! 1-Star Torta de Carnitas — Now if it only tasted as good as it looks… this was a very strange one and I couldn’t pin point why it wasn’t very good I tried the carnitas just alone and it was very good like 4-Star good but as a torta it was 2-Star at best, maybe it was cheap store bought guacamole. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless perhaps you want Chicken Soup
