Went there for lunch and walked out after 10 minutes. 1 waiter working lunch on Saturday.

Love this spot. Very fresh and delicious. I have tried a few different entrees and they each were very good. Looking forward to going here again soon. Tortilla Soup is amazing.

Great place! We have eaten here twice. The food and service have been outstanding. I usually find something negative to write about in my review, but not here. Give this place a try. You’ll be glad you did! Oh yeah, the Bogle wine is pretty damn good!

Nice place serving pretty good food. The service was acceptable given that it was pretty slow when we dropped by. Worth giving them a try.

The older man who works there acted like it’s such a bother to wait on us. The food was mediocre. We were initially attracted by the name, but it did not live up to it. Bummer.

Good menu idea. Not so good execution. We had the guacamole w/chips, stuffed avocado w/chicken salad, small bowl of tortilla soup, BBQ burger and panini. The guacamole is just okay. The stuffed avocado was the best part of dinner. The tortilla soup is good but when they say«small bowl» it’s very small… The BBQ burger was eh… The panini didn’t have very much in it. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick.

Dinner on Friday night and I can’t wait to return. Cilantro shrimp salad was so flavorful and the tortilla soup… Out of this world.

I love this place! I have been here many times and recommend everything on the menu! If the description sounds like something you will like, then you will like it. I read some reviews and one lady said her husband ate a chicken sandwich that was bad, but they don’t have one on the menu. Another said he got sick after eating there on a Sunday, but they aren’t open Sunday… this place is great and the servers work hard. The owners and their kids are so cute! The caprese salad, shrimp salad and bbq bacon avo burger are what I recommend. The vegetarian version of the Thai tacos are also perfect for lunch. Don’t let other confused people lead you astray. This place is amazing and deserves five stars.

Chips and guacomle is a must. Had the fish tacos, delicious. Soup had so much flavor. If I am ever back in the area, will be coming back

My husband and I ate there last night during Cruising Grand. We really wanted to like it as we like supporting family owned and operated businesses. The chips and guacamole are homemade, which is a plus. The staff is very helpful and we received excellent service. The owner’s kids are adorable to see in action. And we really did want to be able to come here on Unilocal and give them a nice 5 star review. My hamburger, the Maui Avocado burger was excellent. Nice, freshly formed with good flavor. My husband order the chicken sandwich and said, «Whoever thought to put those particular ingredients together wasn’t thinking clearly because it’s horrible». I have a suggestion as well for the owner: It started to get busy because of Cruising Grand when we were almost finished with our meal. The rear table, which was the longest table there, was being utilized as a prep area with the daughter assembling table ware for service. A party of 4 or 5 came in and they were offered separate seating at different tables or a seat in the very rear of the restaurant(which has no view). When the party asked to be seated up front, they got a little bit of attitude. I saw no reason why they could not have cleared the large table for the new patrons so they could sit together inside the restaurant. When you’re busy like that, the area for prep should be moved to the back before offering the back area to new customers.

Yeah. Ate food on sunday there when they were busy and got food poisoning. Now I’m still sick. This is ridiculous. And for the bacon avocado burger. Don’t count on getting much, if any avocado. What a joke, just go somewhere else unless you want diarrhea.

I’d say pretty plain jane. The food was good, but not anything that wowed me. I ordered the caprese appetizer salad and chicken tortilla soup. The caprese had a ton of avo, very good thing, but the soup needed more. The avocado was the main star of the soup but I only got a couple bites with it before it was all gone. Then I had to ask for a extra side of cilantro to help flavor up the soup. My boyfriend got the slaw dog, sausage with cabbage, avocado and tooooo much bbq sauce. Overkill. Light food, felt good and healthy after eating there, which is nice but just nothing special for me. Not great not bad just in the middle.

We love this place! It’s the only place I want to go on a Friday night — unfortunately it closes at 9pm and I get off work late. But it’s worth it to rush over here. The menu is slightly limited, but everything is top notch quality. The chicken tacos are brilliant! I was thinking«how is curry going to go with avocado?» Well, it goes perfectly! Kudos for always having quality avocados, only 4 stars because I want more avocado creations on the menu!

I love avocado and you should too if you eat here. It’s on everything. We ate: Avocado Caprese starter. Yum! Tortilla soup. Yum! Burger. Yum! The soup was pureed and topped with guac. I wouldn’t have minded some large salty crunchy chips to balance the sweetness of the soup, instead of the crushed up ones but that’s just me. Soup was nice and hot and filling. Husband liked the burger. It had a nice grilled flavor to it. No fries here which is somewhat unexpected if you’re going to largely sell burgers. I like the nice small menu. It gives me confidence that anything I order will be solid. A charming little local bistro. That’s what this place is. We’ll be back!

We were at the street fair and noticed this place. The«avocado» in the name was what caught my eye. It was a cute little place so we figured we’d give it a try. We started with chips and guac(duh) and it was really good. It was only $ 5 and was perfect for 2 people. The guac needed a touch of salt, but was good. My friend got the mahi tacos with salad, and I got the bacon avocado burger with tortilla soup. The friend raved about the salad dressing. I wasn’t too impressed with my soup. The portion of both the salad and soup was very small.(but perfect for us) The mahi tacos were SOOOOO good. I had a bite, and then wished I had gotten them. They had great spice and lot’s of flavor. My burger was also good, but it didn’t stand out from other burgers. The one thing I can say for the burger was that the bun was REALLY fresh and it was large. I could only eat half(which is unusual for me) My first thought when the food came was that the plating seemed odd, just seeing a burger on a plate by itself. But really, what else do you need? I think it was a mental thing, not an «I’m still hungry» thing. I thought the prices were really fair and the service was fantastic. My iced tea never got totally empty, the waitress was awesome!

The service was great! I was going to give it a 2/5, but I really like the girl server(didn’t get a chance to get her name). However, their menu is very small. There are so many things you could do with avocado. The BBQ Bacon Avocado Burger was alright. The place is very affordable; spent $ 25 for 2 people. But the food was not as great as we’d expected. The area is great, but we’re probably not coming back.

*Note* BYOA…(Bring Your Own Avocados) All the food was fairly decent, but where were THEAVOCADOS may I ask? The guacamole serving was a tad skimpy to say the least. For three people it averaged about 4 chips each with a pile of guac, and the rest of the chips had to be eaten naked. For a place that is primary avocado driven, I was expecting to see bowls bursting forth with the buttery creamy goodness. As an avocado lover, I expected my craving to be quelled. Instead I got a burger that had 3 thin slices of avocado in it. I could have gotten that at any restaurant. The avocado ice cream however, was divine. I would probably go again, and just have a scoop(or two) of that. If they ever decide on adding more avocado to the menu items, I would be first on board to give it a go again.

A place that emphasizes their avocados… heck yes. As a guacamole/avocado lover this really does appeal to my senses. I’m glad my small and very enthusiastic Escondidoite friend suggested this little restaurant for lunch. She was thoroughly jumping around the tables, making crazy gestures, and asking every few minutes how I thought about this place. Yes, this is the same girl that went crazy in my review of mashed potato pizza at Basic. She does make an appearance in my reviews quite sporadically, and in case she ever reads this: HIMEL! Fresh, fresh, fressssh avocados and guacamole. You could TASTE the freshness of all their ingredients. It’s like they made it right then and scooped it on your plate – delightful. None of the ingredients were overwhelming so it definitely made my inner guacamole lover very satisfied for lunch. Thank you chef. Like any place specializing in specific food choices, there’s not a long list of items to choose from. This gives a great impression already because you can tell they are confident you’ll find something of your liking within less than 15 menu item choices. Superb. Food: — Thai Chicken Tacos(~$ 10.95): Two stuffed tacos with very fresh yellow curried chicken, veges, and sweet red Thai chili sauce. The avocados pretty much melted in my mouth(or got lost within each bite), but it was actually a pretty tasty taco. The thai chili sauce is very sweet so it may be a little bit overwhelming for some. But it wasn’t too much to where it became distracting. However, like most of their menu items, it’s kind of overpriced. I wish it was a couple bucks cheaper. But overall – great choice. — Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad: On a bed of greens and a good number of plump shrimp, this salad had a weird reaction from all those who tried it. Myself included. I think it may have been the Extra Virgin Lime Infused Avocado Oil or the cilantro lime dressing but whatever it was, it had a FUNKY taste to it. Not unbearable but enough to wonder: «it kind of tastes like… plastic». This would have docked a star off my rating, but I realize it’s such a unique taste that I’ll just make note of it and let it sit. Sadly no matter how many bites people in my party took, they all agreed it tasted a little funny. Try at your own risk? Maybe? — Grilled Avocado Caprese Sandwich: The buffalo Mozzarella is very plentiful and not too overwhelming on the Ciabatta bread. The sweet tomato, bacon, pesto, mayo, fresh basil, and avocados were also layered and mixed well with the sandwich. My only concern was that it seemed too skimpy for the price. This was a very safe and tasty option if you dont want to have an overwhelming sandwich! — Chips & Guacamole: Very fresh chips right out of the oven(or so they seemed), and yes, guacamole. Delicious. Absolutely delicious. I can eat this forever. If you’re getting a menu item and you get to choose free guac & chips, GOFORTHISOPTIONOVERTHESOUPORSALAD! Pros: — Very clean and beautifully decorated restaurant — Awesome waiters and very friendly staff. Thanks for accommodating 15 of us! — Split checks. Accepts all major credit cards. Cons: — Odd and limited hours. — Honestly a little too pricey for the food. Chop off 20% and it’d be the talk of the town. — A little small but there are also tables outside for a nice beautiful day. You know it’s got to be somewhat legit if they get their avocados locally. And even more legit if you can taste the freshness of their food. If you’re in the area, drop in for lunch or dinner – it’ll be a great experience!

My friends and I stumbled upon this place. It’s a pretty cozy atmosphere, but ultimately the food is delicious. I ordered the Avocado Caprese Salad and the Avocado Caprese Sandwich, and I absolutely loved it. The food was fresh and flavorful. If you’re a fan of Avocado, you really must try! I’m willing to make the 73 mile drive down from LA just to eat here. It’s a shame they don’t have a place closer. The menu is a bit limited, but for what they have, the food is delicious. =)
