My wife and I celebrated our 26th anniversary here. Had some drinks at the bar, then an outstanding dinner. Our suite had a fireplace and an incredible bathroom. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast and were treated the whole time like kings. We will definitely be back. Food, location, service = five stars!

My first time coming to Frenchtown. Also my first time eating in a place like this. Let me tell you, what an awesome experience. I ate brunch there and after having my leek soup, Swiss omelet, mimosa, multiple cups of coffee, and specialty bread. I left with smile and a full stomach. The staff is super friendly and the area is beautiful(especially in the fall). I will be bringing my girlfriend here in the near future!

Visited here with my wife for our Anniversary dinner — what a hidden gem! Right on the Delaware river in Pennsylvania in a restored 1800’s building gave it the ambiance of a rustic special occasion place and it didn’t disappoint on all counts. Since it was early fall, we started out with the soups — butternut squash and broccoli cheese. The butternut was smooth and silky with just the perfect compliment of squash/cream/broth to make it roll off your tongue. The broccoli cheddar was made with just the right texture of roux to broccoli purée and was not like the pasty, gluey version you get in some restaurants. For main course I got the braised pork shank which was melt in your mouth tender. My wife got the butterflied chicken which was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by tender fingerling potatoes. The chicken came with a jus with a hint of honey which complemented the dish extremely well. For dessert we shared the carrot cake and some local Black Eddy coffee. Both were first rate. A restaurant like this one that pre-heats the hot dishes before adding the food and pre-chills the cold dishes illustrates their attention to detail. Normally I don’t critique the wait staff unless they perform an excellent job or an extremely poor one. In this case they were the former — attentive and extremely informative in explaining the locally sourced food that was part of the menu. Put this one on your list if your in the area and want the food to be the star of your experience.

I love the Golden Pheasant. This is my go-to place for special occasions. Their brunch is amazing! You get complementary bread, champagne, a starter(soup or salad), an entrée, and a dessert for a fixed price! Also, try the Bloody Mary; it’s the best I have ever had! They add pickled veggies which are delicious! The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating — you can overlook the woods and walking trail, or the river. It can get a little warm outside in the summer, so dress appropriately. They also have real fireplaces which the light in the winter, which is an fantastic touch! The waitstaff is attentive and very professional. The décor features local Bucks County impressionist painters which is a really neat touch! When I come here, I feel like I have taken a mini vacation. The Golden Pheasant is also right next to the Sand Castle Winery.

I have had the opportunity to live within walking distance of The Golden Pheasant for 12 years and have dined there many times pre and post renovation. I absolutely loved the old Bucks County charm that Michel and Barbara created for so long and counted TGP as one of my top 5 dining spots in the US. Surely, the character has changed since Britany, Blake and Jon took over but that is not a bad thing. I really like the workmanship of the renovation and much has remain virtually unchanged. The old bar in the tavern room was not one that frequently attracted a local crowd for a draft beer or glass of wine. The new bar is located just to the left of the entrance and is modern yet cozy and Kevin is one of the most attentive tenders I know. Go in once and introduce yourself and he will know your name on your return trip… and there will be a return trip. The food is very different from days gone by, and I will admit there are a few items I will not be ordering, but this gem is still very high on my list. The 4 rooms in the Inn are small but stunning and perfect for a romantic getaway. I hope this place is here for years to come!

Hard to believe that such a lovely restaurant with great cuisine exists in the little town of Erwinna, PA. But it does and didn’t disappoint. The food was top notch and the service was wonderful. A lot of the ingredients are locally sourced and grown. The location right by the Delaware River is lovely. Well worth a stop if you’re in the area. Right across the bridge and a mile down the road from Frenchtown, NJ! This place beats any of the restaurants in that town.

5 stars for sunday champagne brunch. Took my wife and daughter this sunday. We all had the sirloin and egg entrée off the brunch menu which the waitress reccomended. She was right on. Perfect choice. Grass fed petit sirloin was perfect and tender and tasted great. They have surprisingly good coffee here too so bonus. Its $ 35 per person. Sit inside. Good view of the river and no pesky bugs flying around your table which i noticed happening to people outside. make reservations online and go here its a nice time. When you leave go right behind the inn to the Sand castle winery where they have $ 10 wine tasting(you get 12 different wines to try) entrance to winery is just over the small one lane bridge past the inn.

We had a party of 8 for Mothers Day brunch. Wonderful mixed mushroom soup hi-lighted well received appetizers. My challah French toast was delicious with a side of roast potatoes and veggies. Around the table, other main courses were well received. The deserts were a slight letdown but the organic vanilla ice cream was smooth and delicious. What made the meal a clear 5 rather than a four was the warm, attentive and helpful service in a old country inn setting overlooking the Delaware river. We will return to sample the regular menu. Even the parking attendants were personable adjuncts to a fine early afternoon brunch.

Went there for a valentine’s dinner on Friday the 13th. The service was excellent along with our meal. We shared the roasted Romain lettuce appetizer which is outstanding. She had the chicken and I had the strip steak that was cooked to perfection. As this was our first time there I didn’t realize that you can ask to have the pork bellies on the side(which I would have preferred.). The atmosphere is romentic with a roaring wood fire. Looking forward to trying their brunch in the spring.

I can’t sing enough praises of Golden Pheasant Inn. The staff is professional, kind and super accommodating. The location is breathtaking. The food is beyond delicious! I’ve had my bday 2 years in a row here. Can’t wait to try Sunday brunch! Bravo to this wonderful business. It’s like family here. Oh, and the cocktails = yum!

We were really looking forward to a terrific dinner last night, especially after reading some very positive reviews on Unilocal.Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. Our starters: my VA oysters were excellent. My wife’s mussels were not fully cooked with many of the mussels not opened. One was bad, which can happen. When she spoke up to our waiter, he apologized but offered to do nothing. For our main course, my Scottish salmon was very good, but not very warm. My wife’s dish was not warm at all. The greens were cold. On to coffee… my wife’s coffee was cold. I think they had it out for my wife(joking). The room we ate in was terrific and we had a great table in front of the fireplace. The staff were friendly and polite. I was just surprised on a really slow night with few people there(3 days after New Years Eve) that they couldn’t keep the food warm. Would I give them another shot… yes. I think we just hit them on an off night.

I got married here in early October, and it was just wonderful. Brittany was so helpful and we got everything set up quickly and efficiently. The food was amazing — let me tell you about it. We set up a wine and cheese bar for before the ceremony(which was supposed to be outside, but it rained that day, so it was inside), which was just wonderful. We performed the ceremony in their beautiful dining room area, and had two large tables set up in the sunroom for all of our guests(it was about 60 people). First was a beautiful salad, then a beautiful autumnal soup, then three choices for entrees: crab cake, french toast, or a goat cheese omelet. Everyone loved the food, and the staff was extremely accommodating: they even made up two vegan roasted squash dishes and vegan soups for our friends that were, with no extra charge to our bill. The alcohol was awesome(they have all local breweries on tap) and affordable. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to have a moderately sized wedding that is both affordable and elegant. This place is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is magical — they even have a garden patio out back, so once the rain stopped, we were able to spend a couple of hours outside drinking and hanging out. Loved it.

A terrific find! This Inn is basically in the middle of nowhere but we were so glad we came across it. The menu is modern French and both the atmosphere and food are beautiful and elegant. Upon sitting down, the first thing that caught our attention was how professional and knowledgeable our server was. She was quick to answer questions, offer cocktail suggestions and knew when to let us be. The escargot was some of the best we have had. It was a fairly standard preparation but served without the shells and the garlic butter sauce had a good amount of parsley which added a great freshness. All entrees were decent portions, excellent preparations and were delicious. If there was a negative, it would be the desert. The apple cobbler pie was very good, but our slice was about 1⁄3 of what you see at most restaurants(4 – 5 small bites) We were pretty full after a large meal so this wasn’t a big concern for us, but we would skip the desserts next time. Overall this place offers excellent food, prepared using the highest quality ingredients and the atmosphere is upscale but comfortable. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

i have never been disappointed here. service? impeccable food? delicious, fresh, classic flavors drinks? also great selection of wine and spirits and craft beers I go here when I want to eat simply good new american food and just don’t want to drive to Philly. It can be romantic, it can be casual with family and friends, it is an overall wonderful setting in the«country». The best oysters around. seasonal menu so it’s hard to say what is good when we order the specials. It’s worth the price. I would say that we never spend under $ 100 for 2. Go here, you won’t regret it-seriously.

I was here in July for a wedding. From what I understand, this is NOT a wedding venue. It is a bed & breakfast(with a high-end eatery & bar on the ground floor, and 4 amazing, clean, beautiful rooms above) that occasionally holds small weddings and large events. I cannot give any advice on wedding planning or pricing, but much love for their rooms and their event staff. . CHECKIN — fluid. I barely remember it. What I do remember is pulling up to the aroma of roasting meat, so you know I was already kind of turned on. — There is some model bartending on Friday afternoons. We were confused when this apparition who floated through the sunlight greeted us and stood behind the bar. — We were pretty much left alone after being led to our rooms. Until dinner that evening, we were the only ones there. . —- ROOMS —- — Seriously pretty. Pinteresty. Very clean, well decorated, and the bathrooms were gorgeous with their large, glass-encased shower. — There is a huge master room on one end of the hall(this is where the bride and groom stayed) and three smaller rooms on the other end. It could accommodate four couples altogether. — Tons of light pouring in, wonderful décor, free books to read, cable tv, L’Occitane products, air conditioning(or heating). — The walls are a little thin, so you can hear your neighbors talking. Luckily, we all knew each other so it wasn’t a problem. . —- EVENTPERSONNEL —- —(Minus a half star.) To be honest, up until the wedding that following evening, the event personnel was missing. We set everything up ourselves during the day(chairs, tents, decorations, etc) — which was fine. But at some points patrons kept coming in, looking for the folks in charge. We had to lock the doors to stop strangers from asking us questions we couldn’t answer about Sunday Birthday Brunches or why no one was answering the phones. — During the wedding, however, the staff was fantastic. From what I remember. I was drunk. —- PERKS —- — Golden Pheasant is right along a bike path and a small(albeit dried up) river. You can rent FREEBIKES if you stay! PS: The bikes are gigantic, adorable lady-style road bikes; mine was bright green and had a huge white basket. You can bike across the bridge into Frenchtown, or go on to eternity. —- NOTES —- — Bridesmaids beware — my bathroom was very dimly lit, so makeup was basically applied in the dark. The master room, however, has a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE bathroom the size of my friends Brooklyn apartment. It had tons of natural lighting, so you should put your face on there. — Also, I do have to(minus another a half star) for this, which is not the Inn’s fault — the lawn was actually not the best place to hold a weekend summer wedding, because the single road to the bridge curves around the inn. And there are a LOT of motorcyclists in Erwinna, apparently. The ceremony was constantly interrupted by Harleys. . All in all, a beautiful experience. I would probably go back if I needed to run away from NYC to the middle of nowhere with a significant other for a day or two. Especially after reading the other reviews(and especially after having smelled that roasting meat upon arrival), I would love to try their food. The menu prices seemed super affordable, comparable to a standard NYC meal.

We live across the river and, in frequent trips up and down the road the restaurant’s on, watched the renovations taking place for months… even stopping, several times, to ask the workers when they thought the restaurant would be open. When we finally got to go there last night with«foodie» friends our anticipation and patience were rewarded with the most pleasant dining experiences we all agreed we’d had in a very long time. It could have started out badly when I asked our dinner companions if the room — to the left of the jewel-like bar– where we’d been seated hadn’t gotten a little too loud for quiet conversation. They agreed it had and I said I’d go and request to be reseated. I went and asked one of the hostesses who, after consulting with another person, said that she would be more than happy to move us. We wound up in the lovely dining room to the right of the bar. It was done seamlessly with no fuss and really helped set the tone for what was to come. And that was excellent food all around from their take on onion soup to the mussels and my bone marrow appetizer to the more than ample slow cooked pork shank, which two of us had and the local duck and day boat scallops. The desserts were a fitting end to a wonderful evening. We ‘ll be back!

Second trip in a short period of time and the same great experience. It’s fantastic when a great restaurant turns out to meet the same high expectations with a different cast of employees when you visit. The first trip had us craving more, so we stopped back again after work. Like last time, the menu highlighted many of their local fresh food. In addition, there were many seasonal ingredients that were included on a separate sheet in the menu. Our server Maria as well as the rest of the staff were very friendly, as we’ve come to expect from this restaurant. We were given an excellent education on the menu and what was available. Drinks were quickly refilled and we felt very welcome. For starters, my girlfriend had the oysters. They were incredibly fresh and sweet. Golden Pheasant has rotating oysters picked for their quality. Typically, one East Coast and one West Coast variety. I had the seafood bisque to start, and it was perfectly flavored with a large variety of finely cut seafood and a light cream. For our entrees, my girlfriend had the Lamb Shank, which was«slow roasted, fall of the bone, delicious.» I had the Lancaster County Beef Strip Loin, it was cooked past medium rare like I ordered. However, that didn’t impact the overall quality of the meal and the béarnaise sauce & the sides complimented the meat perfectly. Once again, we were extremely happy with the experience and highly recommend the Golden Pheasant! This is one restaurant we’d go out of our way to visit!

I have found my new FAVE Sunday brunch spot! This place was under renovation for 9 months and I had never visited until last weekend — I WISH I had discovered it sooner. Every time we drove by we thought ‘we must check it out’ — do yourself a favor and make a booking! Sunday brunch is a prix fixe menu and it is worth every dollar and more. We started at the gorgeous bar with a super generous pour of champagne and enjoyed the gorgeous surroundings and the view out to the stream in the back. We were joined by some fun friends and that included a round of bellinis(made with locally sourced fresh peaches) and the bloody marys were a work of art! Our meals were totally delish with 3 courses and all courses sourced by local, sustainable, organic farms. Eating local and organic is important to me and every mouthful was amazing. I know I am gushing… but so was everyone at our table. It is also GF friendly(including a wicked dessert of flourless chocolate torte). The Golden Pheasant Inn omelette was filled with delicious goats cheese and was almost florescent yellow due to the local eggs — I highly recommend it. Make a reservation, get there early and enjoy a drink at the bar before you enjoy the lovely surroundings, exceptional service and delicious food. It is my new Sunday brunch spot for sure.
