I had not been here in several years, so a group of us came for a business dinner. It was as good as I remembered. The restaurant is quite unusual for this area, reminding me a lot of the seafood restaurants near where I now live near Mobile Bay. Our seafood dinners were all perfectly prepared and delicious. The service was spot on and the prices are very reasonable.

Couldn’t have had a worse experience here. Came for the Louisiana Boil. When it came out, an hour later, the 12 crawfish were replaced with three shrimp. I was never told they were out of crawfish until the moment they put the boil in front of me. I ordered this specifically for the crawfish. When I asked the waitress why I wasn’t told she didn’t say anything. I went in to talk to the manager about the issue and he said, «Three shrimp equals 12 crawfish. Shrimp are expensive.» And then turned his back. A completely horrible experience from every angle. Avoid this place like the plague.

Great food and drink at the Dock. We had the Lobster Mac and Cheese which was outstanding. Try the different ways they can prepare your seafood and meats. Great Staff and always friendly. Now the serve Yellow Spring Brewer Draft.

This place is great. The atmosphere and service is great, food was amazing too! Especially for the price. We got an ice cold craft beer($ 5 for a tall one) and a great banana mixed drink to start. Warm rolls, the grilled salmon with cranberry butter was the best piece of fish I have had in a while. Green beans almondine, grilled pork chops, baked potatoes and the kids fish is huge! Would highly recommend this place if you are tired of boring chain restaurants. The Owner stopped by and made sure everything was good and even introduced himself, shook my hand and thanked us for coming in. You wont find that too often.

The atmosphere is excellent, the staff is very friendly, but the food is horrible. I ordered the«Poor Man’s Grouper»(I should’ve known better when they call it that!) Anyways, the menu says it’s a local favorite, and that you can get it Blackened if requested. So I ordered it Blackened and it came battered with the edges burnt! So the waitress sent it back to the cook. She brings it back and says the cook said that it was indeed blackened. Wrong. So she kindly had another one made, and it comes back breaded with black edges again! Unbelievable. I took a bite out of the new one anyways and it was mushy inside. I ate the baked potato and shoved the plate out of my way. The waitress never offered to take it off our bill. I paid the bill in full and tipped our waitress as well, but I’ll never go there again. A total disaster!

This is an unusual restaurant with seafood specials in the middle of Podunk Ohio. I had the fried seafood bucket most everything was very tasty, except the oysters which were mushy. The hash brown casserole was quite pedestrian. My wife enjoyed the shrimp scampi baked potato and salad thought they were delish. The service was attentive and friendly. We were past the dinner rush so we could Cleary hear the local yokes discussing their problems with Obama, Muslims, welfare rats running around the local Y and why they have the right to say Merry Christmas.

I believe the Dock provided above average food, service, venue, and just the right amount of staff — customer interaction. Will return.

This is just a little place in the middle of the heartland. Are you going to find gastronomic pleasures found in NYC or LA. Absolutely NOT. But that isn’t what they are trying to be. I found them to be a good, family owned restaurant that offers a little something more than meat and taters(although that is great too!). I ordered the Sesame Ahi, rare, and was so pleasantly surprised! It was delicious!!! The gentleman I was with ordered stuffed flounder, and although it may not have been the best he ever had it was good(and he has been all across the USA). All in all — A very lovely place to go. Great service, wonderful atmosphere and a surprisingly broad menu!

The service was reasonably prompt and pleasant. The atmosphere was good other than a few pesky flies that wouldn’t stay away. The food was plentiful and although slightly higher than the chain restaurants it was good. That being said, I gave it three stars because there is so much more potential here. Get rid of the flies and give the food a little extra attention and you’ll have a winner. The salads were wilty, the steaks lacked that little extra sizzle even though they were cooked to the proper temp. This place could be a great experience and not just another biker bar.

At the risk of being stoned by the locals… this place is AWFUL. I have lived in Florida and California so I know decent seafood… this is NOT it. And I’m pretty sure the so called crab cakes were rotten last time, they are small, flat, greasy and have barely any crab in them!

VERYSLOWSERVICE for just below average food. Have been here about 4 times, mainly because friends wanted to go, food was down right awful. I am a local and want to support local businesses, but this place is not a good place to spend my hard earned money.

Seriously loved the atmosphere here. However the food literally made me through up within 25 minutes of eating. I had a steak and the mango margirita. I kept telling my husband that the steak didn’t taste or smell right… but I kept eating it. Next thing I knew I threw up on the way home. Won’t be back and if I do… never to order food just bottled beer. Staff and service was nice. This does look like a hot spot for locals. They seemed to be surrounded at the bar and weren’t too friendly.

While this reminded us of the tacky hole in the corny wall places in the Keys that are astoundingly awesome in tackiness — yes that’s a bonus, so i gets a second star — it certainly left a lot of be desired on the plate. We live in Enon, so we’re right down the street. We moved here a couple years ago, family is from here so we have seen the packed parking lot for years. We assumed it was a decent place, since it seemed to be packed day in and day out. All the locals we talked to all said«meh, overpriced, not worth it.» We went anyway. We’re cool like that. What it actually is is the only place in town for people under age 80 who are still in possession of their own teeth and don’t know any better. Overall it’s just as everyone said, overpriced, and left us under impressed. I mean don’t get me wrong, we’re not cheap. We don’t mind paying if the food is worth it. $ 120 Tasting menu at Emerils in Vegas? Bring it! But then a 3 buck taco from a truck can make me sing opera too, so see — I’m not picky, just jaded. ;) But — if you get me to pay $ 23 for a fish filet it had better rock my world and call me in the morning. Curl my toes. Something. It was pretty… ordinary. Completely meh. I have mentioned elsewhere I’m a seafood fan. We plan trips around seafood. When the good places go out of business we mourn for years(I’m looking at you Shells!) I don’t understand where people get off calling it superb, but I find most don’t know a good what a good Mexican place is either around here, but i digress… If you want good seafood around here I’d try a chain like Bonefish or Mitchells. For the same money you’d have something worth eating and might remember in the morning.

The atmostphere is actually kind of nice for the area, and in the summer I could see it being an o.k. place to sit on the patio and have a beer. It’s the fanciest place in Enon, Ohio, but the food is very mediocre and overpriced. To someone who has eaten at many nice restaurants, the food is just so-so, and the prices are on par with much nicer restaurants(10 oz. ribeye for $ 21, $ 22 for 8 oz. of scallops). No special creativity, no special care, no well-thought-out theme, no focus on fresh or local. I’m sure there are good things on the menu, but if you’ve spent much time in a city bigger than Springfield, don’t come expecting something spectacular.

I’ve never been here, & had heard all the hype about how GREAT this place. So, on a whim we went to give it a try. It was a Sat night, and although the lot was full the restaurant didn’t appear to be busy. This was good for our family of 4. It means we had a slight wait of 3 – 5 minutes. Salad was okay, a nice change with the peas. Our entrees were served piping HOT! The flavor was good, but not on the same level of Red Lobster. And definitely nowhere near McMormick & Schmitt’s either. The price is similar to Red Lobster, but you might as well go there. As for the location, it’s nice to have a decent restaurant closer to home. So, if you’re visiting western Clark county it would be an okay stop for dinner.

People in Ohio must not travel much to know the difference in the quality of seafood. Everybody was raving how great this place is. So I went with a friend to try it out. The atmosphere is nice and reminds of the restraunts that you find down in Florida. The menu has tons to choose from(price was out of my range). Service was very slow. When the food arrived we were starving. The food was blan, lukewarm, and rubbery. The crab legs where cold and not cooked long enough. Could not break the legs like you are suppose to because of this. Very disappointed. The price for the food was not worth the quality. I should of know better. I have yet to find a good seafood restraurant in Ohio. I have traveled all across the U.S. and enjoy trying the local restraurants, especially seafood. I enjoy going to Florida because of the awesome seafood restraunants and to get some good crab legs. So a couple of months have passed and I was roped into meeting some friends at The Dock for dinner. I was not looking forward to it since my last experience was not the greatest. I ordered the seafood sampler platter so I can try a little bit of everything. The results where the same as last visit. Very disappointed. The service was just as slow as before. Drinks remained empty. Went with a group of about six people and out of the six people the only person who enjoyed their meal was the one that ordered chicken fingers. Again I don’t know why people enjoy this place so much because for me and others it is not for the food. It must be for the atmosphere? If you want quailty seafood this is not the place to go. You will be better off getting a better seafood meal at McDonalds ordering a McFish sandwich.

Reserved the patio for a large group a week ago and the Dock knocked one out of the park. The service was on top of things. I was basically handed my drink as I walked in the door. They were able to accommodate a group of 50 – 60 people with no problems. The food was roughly excellent. Lasagna was almost as good as my Italian mother’s. I went back for more. Pulled pork was tasty. Stir-fry was a decent option for the vegetarians in the group. The meal was followed with a yummy brownie. Cost was around $ 17.00 per person. If you’ve never been to the dock, it’s basically a residence converted into a restaurant. Some dining rooms look very similar to a living room, Florida room, etc. I think the addition of the patio has probably set this place apart from the lingering opinions of yore. The patio really is cool. Decked out with nautical trinkets, a cute fountain, and strings of lights that can be found just about everywhere. This makes the dock a unique experience in an otherwise sleepy town. Out back there is a duck pond where a few feathered friends reside. I definitely will return next time I’m in Enon.

This place is a total butterservice. It has great food… butterservice(see also, Peach’s Grill in Yellow Springs). That’s really all you need to know. Judging by the other reviews I’ve read, I think my experience was pretty typical. We were seated in the cozy, fireplace-laden«boathouse» dining area. Abundant nautical decorations give one the sense of being about to embark on a months-long sea voyage, which is appropriate because you are about to embark on what feels like a months-long voyage. Call ahead and you will actually be seated rather quickly, but don’t let that fool you. After being seated you can expect to wait about 15 minutes for the server to come by and put a bowl of butter packets on your table. Don’t worry, she will be back in about half an hour with the bread. In the meantime, you can sample some of the butter to get an idea of what you’ll be working with later or you can steal some bread from an unoccupied table to speed up the process(as we contemplated doing). When your server comes to take your drink order I recommend providing her with several suitable options as they will almost certainly be out of at least half the drinks you order. I would also recommend asking for two of whatever you do end up getting, since after you get your drinks you are going to have to navigate the long, server-less doldrums that take place before getting your entrée. You might also want to consider just walking up to the bar to get drinks since it’s only like 20 feet away. Expect the wait for the entrée to take at least 45 – 60 minutes from the time you actually put in the order. To pass the time, you might consider reading the rude little sign on your table that tells you to move to the bar once you finish eating to make way for a fresh set of customers. The Dock is apparently the restaurant equivalent of that friend who is perpetually very late to everything, but the minute someone else is holding up the show they raise holy hell. To their credit, the food at The Dock is quite good, especially considering it’s a seafood restaurant in a small town in Ohio. I sampled several different appetizers and entrees and literally everything was delicious. Unfortunately this fact tends to be overshadowed by the absurdly slow service. That said, I think a restaurant’s food quality should be more important than its service, and that is why I’m still giving the The Dock a halfway decent rating. In fact, I might actually go back at some point because I actually did have a good time, it was just a much longer time than I was expecting. DOCKCHEATSHEET: PROS: Great food; fun, pleasant atmosphere CONS: Mind-bogglingly slow service; out of a lot of things, particularly beers RECOMMENDEDFOR: the highly patient; stoners; bored retirees; those needing to kill 2 ½ to 3 hours PROTIPS: give your server optional selections in case they are out of your first choices; walk up to the bar to get drinks; BYO Bread

Margaritaville smack dab in the middle of a cornfield(well, darn close!!) in Enon, Ohio?!? Suuuure! Pretty packed on a warm, sunny Friday night, but we sat at the bar and really didn’t have a long wait at all for a table. Great atmosphere, good service, and quite a few interesting surf/turf choices! Every entrée comes with a mini loaf of white and brown bread and a salad(check out the special«dock» salads with tangy house dressing!) I had a combo with a pan-seared fillet, broiled scallops, and shrimp(good, but sorta skimpy for the price!) and chose a baked sweet potato for a side, while my guy had a suuuper tender cut of steak. Was tempted to try the key lime pie for dessert– Next time! Friday night included some live music, with two locals playing the tropical tunes. Great seating in the«boathouse» and outside… Can’t go wrong for the food, atmosphere, and«taste of the tropics!»

Wow, I can’t say enough good things about this place and I wish I could give more than 5 stars. EVERYTHING was amazing, the ambience, the service, the food, the drinks. The place just looks really cool from the outside, almost like an actual dock(hence the name). Make sure that you sit in the actual boathouse, even if you have to wait for a table, trust me it’s worth it. They have specials ALL the time, and they are pretty good ones too. I had a margarita for only $ 2, a damn good margarita. Everyone at my table ordered a different thing off the menu, and everyone said it was the best of that item they had ever had. I got the porkchops(I don’t like seafood), and they were amazing. best pork chops ever. The salad was great, the bread was great, everything was just spot on. Our server had stuff out to us before we even had to ask. and she was so nice too. There’s a covered, heated smoking area in the winter if that’s your thing. It seemed like it was mostly Enon locals there, but it was a pretty fun, rambunctious crowd. On the weekends they have a guy there playing a guitar or something, but we went on a weeknight and didn’t get to experience that.
