I’d never been to this sandwich shop and we were all hungry. Here we go… The Good: — Large selection of cold or warm sandwiches. You can even get them as salads. — Ample seating. — Parking is right outside in the shopping center area. Lots of it available. — Things are made fresh. — 2 people were making sandwiches at the same time for faster service. — Price was great for what you got. The Not So Good: — Warm subs mean they make it cold and then microwave it. Yes it’s warm, but the bread gets a little soggy. And come on… microwave? — Seating area is a little dirty/shabby. — Way too much sauce on my shredded BBQ sandwich. — Watch those hours of operation. They were closed the first time we went and it was a week day! Bottom Line: while this place serves up good food for a decent price, it will not be my first choice for a sandwich. Other places have better breads and, I think, a better selection of what to put on your sub. But if you eat here, you will get a tastey meal for not too much.

Hot subs are microwaved. Grilled subs fall apart. Cold subs have no flavor. Seriously mediocre sandwiches. Stopped by for lunch with some coworkers, wanting to try a local shop instead of a chain. The lady who made my sandwich was exasperated and rude, and they were out of a lot of ingredients– like cheese. She snapped at me when I hesitated on toppings for my tuna sub, indicated that I was holding up the line. My sandwhich was so bland, I didn’t want to eat it… I gave the other half away. I love supporting local businesses, but this place is a no go for me. I left lunch annoyed and unsatisfied.

I had the Italian sub. It was super yummy! Love the relish and the homemade brownie. My six-year-old even loved it! Now that’s saying a lot :-) will definitely go back.

There is potential here, but I stopped here to have lunch today and it was not good. I thought I would try something different besides the normal subway and chain sub sandwich shops. I had a Philly cheese steak grilled sandwich, the bread was not grilled and just fell apart when I tried to pick up the sandwich. The roast beef was smoking hot, vegetables were ice cold.

These sandwiches are absolutely delicious! And the brownies, which are homemade, are delectable. However, each time i’ve come here they have messed up my order in one way or another. Make sure when you order your sandwich that you speak up if you notice them doing something wrong. Decent prices too! Look forward to coming back here!(Especially for those brownies!)

Good, but not great cold subs. Uptown has an expansive menu of both hot and cold subs. They also have a special sandwich of the day, which includes a fountain drink and chips. Prices are great, it’s definitely inexpensive and offers good value. The last time I went to Uptown the special was the Italian, so that’s what I ordered. I wasn’t impressed. It’s a very basic Italian sub, although the cherry peppers add some needed flavor and kick. The bread is soft, and my roll was so soft it fell apart. The veggies and dressing were pretty standard as well. Overall, I felt like I probably could have made this sandwich at home. On previous visits I’ve had hot subs, and I think that’s the way to go at Uptown. So, on my next visit I’ll be getting a hot or grilled sub, and maybe I’ll be able to update to a four star review.

If you’re looking for the best sub sandwiches in Enid, Uptown is definitely a top contender. First, Uptown does a real sub sandwich. Certain major chains can produce a reasonably decent imitation which is either designed to be a delivery mechanism for mediocre quality vegetables and enough satiation value to get to the next meal or a piece of bread soaked in as much no-brand mayonnaise as possible with flecks of tuna littered within to make people feel better about themselves. That’s a fake sub sandwich. Uptown subs are real subs. Real subs are sandwiches with a good balance of meat, vegetables, seasoning, and the ability to impart a feeling of satisfaction after eating despite it being a «mere» sandwich. How they manage to make a small amount of provolone stand out enough to be noticeable without trying to take over the sandwich is a feat that has impressed me for years. Cherry peppers enhance the flavor without trying to beat it into submission. The bread holds together without becoming padding. They also have some rather nice soups including a tomato basil which makes for a great side when things get too cold yet again. They also supposedly make sandwiches other than the Italian, but I haven’t actually tested this fact for myself. It just doesn’t seem necessary to mess with something that’s already this good.

Uptown subs is the best things about Enid. The staff is very friendly and the sandwiches are fantastic and reasonably priced. The only problem, in my opinion, is their weekend hours – or lack of. Only open Monday-Friday from 11 – 8, I believe.

Forget the chain subs. Eat at Uptown subs for the real deal. Great staff and great food.

I am a lover of authentic sub sandwiches, none of this toasting or ranch dressing business thank you very much. Uptown Subs doesn’t disappoint, they understand and know the art of the true NY style sub. Have only eaten there once, and my copycat of a husband got the exact same thing as me, so this review really boils down to one sandwich. I got the Italian, which is the typical grinder: capicola, ham, salami, provolone, with oil and italian seasonings. They have various upgrades to the italian, something like super and superdupermega italian, which has roast beef and extra meats and the like, but I stuck with the regular. They have a nice list of the toppings for you to pick out what you want, I am usually an «everything» type person, but I was surprised to see that they put pickles on their italian, which was strange to me. Anyways, has nothing to do with the review, I just don’t really care for pickles on certain sandwiches. Now that we are clear on that, let’s move on. The bread was awesome, fresh baked and all that. Meats and cheeses were fresh sliced and they have a good selection of toppings. The place itself has some really strange employees who aren’t the friendliest, but service doesn’t really matter to me as much as the food. The selection of chips is not that great, but then again I am one of those chip snobs that likes to see 20 types of those fancy kettle chips on display. See, there I go again with getting off track. EATTHESANDWICHES.

Wonderful sandwiches! The place I’m most likely to go for lunch. Very friendly staff. They even remember what I want, and just ask me if I want my «usual,» which I usually do. I often hear them ask other regulars the same thing, and I often see the same lunchtime patrons, often enough that many of them say«hi» to me, even though I don’t live in Enid. My fave: barbecue chicken, with mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, lettuce and tomato, 8-inch on a wheat bun. Although they may put more in than I know, since I haven’t told them how to make it in a couple of years. If you like deli-style sandwiches, give them a try, I promise you’ll like it – a welcome change from the chain stores. Price — for my 8-inch BBQ chicken, drink and a cookie, it’s about $ 9.

A large storefront sub shop with plenty of seating and a spare room on the side in case you want to host a wedding party, Bar-Mitzvah, or anything else that typically involves subs. A lot of shops offer the standard 6″ or 12″ sub, which usually causes me to order a 12″, because I can’t stand the thought of a eating a 6″ sub. Uptown has two sizes, 8″ &12″. This is much better. 8″ is an acceptable sub size. These subs do not disappoint! Lots of choices, including the delicious grilled chicken w/guacamole, and wonderful Reuben. Throw in a giant, fresh, soft-baked cookie and you have now stuffed yourself at lunchtime for about $ 7. Definitely a great spot for lunch.

This place is amazing! Definitely the best sandwiches in town! They are made with the freshest ingredients and the cookies and brownies are baked fresh daily. The staff is friendly and focused on making your experience the best it can be.
