I’ve eaten here twice in the last few months. It’s a good sushi joint. I haven’t tried the Chinese. It’s in the top 5 sushi restaurants I’ve eaten at(the others are mostly on the East Coast), and it’s nice to have one here in Ohio.

We’ve been there twice now for sushi, both times have been excellent! I have just recently got my two daughters interested in sushi, and this place is one of the best in the area. The portions are large and affordable, not to mention delisous! My wife is not a sushi fan, so she got a Chinese dish instead. She really enjoyed it as well. She did get brave and ate a couple pieces of our California roll, which she was also impressed with. I decided to try the octopus sushi, even though I have always been apprehensive about the texture. It was firm, but not rubbery as I expected. It was actually very good! Something I will eat again in the future. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is nice. We had a great time and will be back.

THEBESTINDAYTON! I have been eating sushi for 30 years all over the US and Europe. I honestly have to say that Ozu852 rivals the best sushi I’ve ever had anywhere. It is all about the quality and freshness of the fish and Alan the owner is obviously very selective and knowledgeable, I would say passionate, about the fish he buys. Over the years I have tried the sushi at most of the asian restaurants in the area. In the good old days IZU on Dixie was amazing, until it changed hands and became inedible. My wife and I finally found a really good place in West Chester so we have been driving an hour each way for sushi. They also recently changed hands and the quality took a nosedive. We were once again without a place to have sushi. Then I installed the Unilocal app and read all of the 5 star reviews for Ozu852. We have driven past it so many times and never tried it because one would never expect a world class sushi place to be tucked away in a little strip center in Englewood Ohio. From our first bite we knew this would be our second home. We LOVE this place and the quality of the sashimi is off the chain. We have eaten here almost every day since we found it a couple of weeks ago. Im sure our obsession will fade but how lucky we are to have such an amazing place 15 minutes from home! It is true what the other reviewers have said: a gem, amazing, as good as anything in New York or LA, the people of Englewood have no idea what they have in their own little town… We are blessed to have this place and I highly recommend it. It has been a while since I posted this review. Ozu852 still offers the finest quality sushi. I am updating because the owner told me today that they recently hired one of the best Chinese chefs from Chicago and now the quality of their Chinese menu offerings has really improved. I dont know because i have never had their Chinese food. I will try it in the future and update my post again.

Oh. My. God. This is one of the best sushi restaurants around. In Englewood. In a strip mall. With a half Chinese menu. But please. Believe me, the BEST. If your idea of good sushi comes from Thai 9, go there, then go here. And tell me which one you like better. Because Imma be so much more right than you. This place is the bomb. And way more affordable. The fish is fresh and amazing. My carnivore friend was in throes of ecstasy from the various tuna-and-shrimp things she was ordering. Me? The vegetable roll and miso soup alone had me weeping from how good they were. The waitstaff is sweet and attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The restaurant is tiny but clean and obviously well-maintained. The owners clearly take pride in what they do. Please go here. After combing through so many sushi restaurants(Shen’s, Choe’s, Osaka, etc) this is the #1. Trust me. Just go. Go, eat, and be merry.

Fresh, Fresh, Fresh! This is a great place to eat! The flavors, the service, and the atmosphere is wonderful! The location makes you question whether to go in and visit, but it is well worth the the time! I am definitely coming back.

Having lived 10 years in California, there are 3 things I miss: In-N-Out, authentic Mexican food and sushi. Thanks to Ozu852, I now have one less California fantasy to drool about. This place has a nice ambience fitting for a sushi restaurant and friendly service. Most importantly, it offers fresh nigiri and delicious rolls for good price. I don’t enjoy driving, but it’s totally worth the 30 minute drive for me and my wife. I definitely recommend this place!

We were not woohoo about the food The hot& sour soup was real good but the egg roll was not it had seen better days The dough was far too thick and seemed that was fried once and refried upon my request The fried rice with shrimps was good the shrimps(plenty of them) were done perfect The beef with garlic had better. It was not our best chinese meal

More people need to know about this place. It’s hidden in the culinary wasteland of Englewood, Ohio… but is seriously some of the best food I’ve eaten. The sushi is amazing, the Chinese and Japanese food is great, and the service is always ridiculously friendly. It’s not always the fastest service(it’s almost always just the husband and wife working), but the extra wait is worth it.

This restaurant in Englewood is a hidden gem. Located in a small plaza, it’s very unassuming in appearance, but the food is of a much higher caliber than you’d expect. I’ve been coming here since the new owners took over the spot close to two years ago. The menu has been changed, upgraded if you will. Chef Alan Li and his wife worked in NYC for a long time, so both his sushi and Asian food is top notch. The service is always courteous and prompt. The food is fantastic. I love everything there. I’m usually on the road for work, so I’ll generally dine in for their sushi, and take home something hot from the kitchen. The Yaki Udon stir fried noodles with seafood is possibly my favorite asian comfort food, The Blue Crab tortilla is unlike anything that you’ve had before, and their specialty rolls are the things that dreams are made of. Maybe that’s exaggerating a bit… but I don’t think so. The food here is so good!

In town for work and found this place on Unilocal.Small place but the sushi is amazing. They have some of the freshest fish I’ve had comparable to Los Angeles and New York. All the fish melts in your mouth and has a buttery taste. Surprised it’s in the location it is in since I think they would do very well as a full blown restaurant with a bar.

Excellent hot and sour soup. Sushi was wonderful– try Red Pheonix. Egg roll good and the service great. The only reason this is not five stars is that they use packets of Chinese mustard instead of making their own

There is no place in the area with sushi as good as they offer here. Go out on a limb and order one of the featured rolls on the dry erase board. You won’t be disappointed. Beautiful, fresh, and tasty. Besides the sushi, we frequent this place because of the friendly service. An all American family of 4(I think it’s just 4) is working hard to run this great business. They are dedicated to say the least. The remainder of the menu items are prepared as you would expect. What I love is that they will«tweak» any dish to your liking. I like to order chicken and broccoli Hunan style. Don’t be afraid to present your reasonable request.

Our family loves this place. We order sushi every time. The people are very friendly and know us. The miso soup is the best I’ve ever had, and the rolls are unique. I recommend the Spicy Girl or Red Phoenix. The American Dream Roll is good if you’re afraid of sushi. Whatever they have for specials are worth the try. And I always order king salmon sushi pieces. The Chinese is far superior to anywhere else in Englewood and would be worth the drive from anywhere in the Dayton area.

The people of Englewood have no idea what is around the corner from them, Yet! They have a premier New York Manhattan sushi chef right there in their community. Sushi Master and owner Alan and his lovely wife Ann have recently moved from New York to Englewood 2 months ago. They will put Englewood on the map has the best sushi in Ohio. The American Dream roll, tuna pizza, and sashimi are amazing. You will not be disappointed. Ann is among the best servers in the business and will teach anyone how to eat omakase style.

Hands down one of the best kept secrets in the Dayton area, this place is a hidden gem. Formerly known as Sakura II, under new, AMAZING, ownership this place is the real deal. Alan and his wife Ann are two of the most genuine and caring owners I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They come from New York City where Alan trained to be a sushi chef and it certainly shows in his beautiful creations that taste as good as they look. They are beyond welcoming into their cozy restaurant and will guide you on your culinary adventure! They have never steered me wrong and have yet to have anything«bad» at their restaurant and highly doubt I ever will. You can see and feel their passion in everything they do, they make you feel right at home. I have eaten there four, yes four, times in the last 2 weeks because I can’t get enough! The prices are that reasonable to boot! Every time I think the last trip can’t be topped because it was THAT good but none the less they manage to knock my socks off! The freshness of ingredients and quality of fish they use in unreal. You’d think you’re along the shore somewhere in Japan eating fish caught that day! And no, I’m not exaggerating. From your basic rolls to their always changing specials you will NOT be disappointed. Their menu is extensive and anyone from the pickiest eater to the most adventurous will find something they like. Hibachi, tempura, teriyaki, endless sushi, noodles, Chinese dishes… they have it all! Even with the large menu they don’t cut corners, it’s consistently awesome and fresh! I can’t rave enough about how good Ozu 852 is. It’s in a small strip mall across from Kroger and by no means should turn you off because it’s small and understated. Like many will agree with, sometimes the best places are off the beaten path. It is a wonderful place that I can not wait to visit again! Hands down the best sushi I ever had. Enjoy!
