Only been here a couple times and have only had the breakfast burrito. The sign says best green chilli in town and though I haven’t had any other green chilli in this town I can tell you it’s pretty darn good! I will definitely be back to try some of the American breakfast items as the skillets and French toast looked very good! Also affordable which is nice for a sit down restaurant.

I really like this place for an inexpensive place for breakfast. Been going there for many a Sunday and not disappointed yet. I do not need someplace fancy for bacon and eggs.

The«Best Green Chile in Colorado» sign/claim is absolutely false advertising… to the point they should be sued! Granted, Colorado’s standards for green chile are pretty low, but this place is not even on the map of «Good», much less«The Best»! Maybe if you are an 80 year old white man you think this chile is passable, but I can’t imagine anyone else truly believes the claim of «Best in Colorado»…certainly not the employees. The food was decent greasy spoon faire, but I have to give them only 1 star based on their ridiculous claim of «Best Green Chile in Colorado». Pick ANY other restaurant on Federal if you are looking for green chile… this place is NOT it!

The staff are very helpful and work very hard. I have read a lot of bad reviews on here and they are very undeserved. All of the items are under $ 6 here. If those other reviewers want gourmet breakfasted — they should stay away from Littleton. This is comfort food to me and it is very good.

Came in because the sign said«Best Green Chile in Town» ordered a breakfast special with Eggs, hash brown, sausage, and Bacon. Ordered the green chile. It was lacking that chile taste. It was like tasting a bunch of black pepper. Not what I call green chile. The service is ok, they screwed up my order of eggs. An area that they can improve on. The food is good overall, minus the green chile.

My wife and I love to eat our weekend breakfasts at Mike’s. It’s not as pretty as a lot of other restaurants around town, so if atmosphere is a big draw for you, this is not your place. However, the food is good and the prices are reasonable, so we keep coming back. I like Mike’s for an independently-owned, no-frills, but still tasty experience. I recommend you try the Mike’s Skillet if you’re there for breakfast. However, if you’re looking for a five-star, fancy-pants breakfast, you should go pay $ 12.95 for bacon and eggs at the Original Pancake House instead.

This place is kind of hard to find considering it’s right on Federal. Probably because it’s between two slightly taller buildings? I don’t know. They have a huge sign out front, and yet I’ve lived literally across the street from Mike’s and didn’t even know it! Maybe I just need to have my eyes checked… Anyway– This place has some pretty nasty reviews on Unilocal, but I decided to ignore them. Besides, I’m prone to episodes of laziness and even if this place is as bad as people think it is, it’s still right across the street, and that alone is a good reason to try it at least once, right? So I walked over to Mike’s Café this morning. I seated myself in the bar between two older guys with grey beards. What they were having looked really good. The guy on my left had a vegetarian omelet. On my right, a smothered burrito(evidently they serve lunch and dinner items during breakfast time). I looked through the torn menu and nothing really stood out for me. They basically have every dish you would expect a diner to have. After about 2 minutes, the waitress came and I ordered a coffee, which she promptly served, and a country benedict. By this point, the two guys were leaving, so I started reading the newspaper. I didn’t finish the article before my plate was in front of me– the steam wafting into my nostrils. I dug right in. I nearly always order the country benedict at diners when it’s available. I don’t know why. Maybe because it’s hard to screw up, and it tastes virtually the save everywhere. So I can’t really comment on the food except to say that the country benedict tasted the way it’s supposed to. Nothing about it really stood out for me. The portion sizes are pretty big. Things I liked: The variety of dishes. They have everything you expect them to have. It’s inexpensive. Service is speedy. Things I didn’t like: it’s dingy(more so than your average hole-in-the-wall). Menus are old, greasy, and torn. Oh, and they have a bug problem. Not a BIG problem, but I did see a little flea flying around. Overall the place is meh. Not great. Not terrible. Not good. Not bad. It’s meh. I’ll probably be back, not just because I loathe IHOP enough to consider sharing my food with bugs, but also because I can see the restaurant from my bedroom window.

Great food and excellent service, waitresses work their butts off. Regarding the review above. The short little white girl was just trying to make sure she have the right change back. So she asked for help. This place has great food don’t listen to the bad reviews.

Horrible service short little white girl that works there as a waiter gave me the wrong change back(she was short) and smiled and never came back; and had to go get them to give me the correct amount. On top of that the service was horrible they never refill their waters and they brought our food and the check along with it pretty much to get us to leave. Your warned.

Wow. Cannot say how disappointed I am. We LOVE diners and Mike’s was always our go to. It was close, cheap and the food was always better than expected. The last time wasn’t the best but at least expectations were met. Today… man. There were buckets of what can only be described as black sludge in it clearly visable. Customers were complaining that the men’s room was ‘backed up’ and not one employee addressed it while we were there. My plate had an insect on it. My wife’s french toast had a french fry on it. I know because the server told us that but left it and walked away. Smoke was coming into the dining room and we can only assume because the filters and vents aren’t and haven’t been cleaned properly or enough. We are looking for a new diner because the neighborhood standby will no longer get our money. **My wife was complaining about her food being greasy and inedible and while writing this, she threw up. AVOIDMIKE ’ S at all costs**

We are always looking for restaurants on the weekends for breakfast. We looked up restaurants in our area and found Mike’s. It is close to home(SW Denver) and had good ratings. Well it is our new favorite place! The people are friendly, the food was prepared exactly like we wanted and the service is super fast. We are definitely going back, probably next weekend. LOVEIT.

Always delicious and good service. We usually get the country skillet with green chili instead of gravy and the chili rellenos with eggs and our bill is never more than $ 20. We love this place and always take out of town guests for a quick and easy breakfast close to our home. We will definitely be back next weekend, like always!

Um yummm! We decided to give Mike’s a try as we were in the neighborhood and we couldn’t decide between breakfast or lunch fare. WHAT A PERFECTSPOTTOGRAB A SUNDAYBITE!!! After perusing the endless menu offering everything from french toast to pork chops and chicken fried steak, I decided on my fail safe… Mexican! I ordered chili rellenos which came with eggs, hash browns, beans, smothered with green chili and served with more flour tortillas. A spread easily large enough for 2 people! The chips were homemade and the salsa was absolutely delicious. All of us enjoyed huge platters of home cooked goodness. Then the check arrived… which blew our minds in that our FEAST didn’t come to even $ 6 a person. Wow, crazy good pricing and food! We will definitely be back for more!!!

This is my go to place for breakfast. I’ve taken numerous people here and have not heard a single complaint. Everything I’ve had has been really good; breakfast skillets, chili rellenos, toro pot, biscuits and gravy… It is «a lil hole in the wall», cheap, always busy no matter what day or time of day and it is only open til about 3 pm.

Great greasy spoon feel. Attitude of waitress seemed rough at first but turned out to be great fun and entertaining. Food was what I’d expect at a greasy spoon, great for what it is, not gourmet! It was exactly what I had a taste for and what I expected.

Hell yeah, another good greasy spoon! Mexican and American food here. I like the chili rellenos(deep fried wontons, cheddar and jack cheese). The food and the service is good. The green chili is a bit starchy, but hey, it is Colorado. One of the waitresses talks with a cute falsetto, probably intentional but endearing nonetheless. Some of the seats are torn up and haven’t been upgraded like the booths at Pete’s Lounge. 4 stars for being a decent greasy spoon with good service. Goodbye Village Inn, Perkin’s, and Denny’s.
