Love every fish dish I’ve had. Filet was very good and pasta dish was also very good. I have been going here for 4years during winter season it is always great.

The was tasty. Pleasant experience. MaryAnn was attentive. Build your own burger comes with plenty of extras. The prime rib sandwich satisfied. The stuffed salmon was a tad dry.

We all agreed that this place was good. We were a large group that had the pastas, steaks, and seafood. I had the blackened seafood platter. Really enjoyed. Nice size and good salads. We went here for the live music. Only complaint is that the band stopped playing at 9:00! We had just gotten finished eating and were only able to listen to 2 songs before they stopped.

Quick service was the only positive feature. Vegies were over cooked. Sauces on the fish were overpowering. Fries were mushy. Prime rib was tough. We don’t plan to return.

Decent place, probably top 5 spots in Englewood. Food was average at best. Staff was good. Pricey for what you get but to be expected in the area. Overall worth checking out.

An easy and delicious place to eat. Everything I’ve ever tried has been delicious and they are very accommodating to gluten-free needs. Definitely recommend.

This place was soo good. We were between going here and flounders and since parking was so crazy at flounders we ended up at lock and key. Thank goodness we did. The service was super quick we sat on the patio and watched partial sunset from our table. We had the pulled pork nachos which were incredible, so much meat it could be a meal. I had the ceaser salad with my meal and the dressing was delicious. I had the blackened tuna dish with a cucumber tomato and mozzarella relish on top(I don’t remember the name of the dish) it was perfection. The service was great despite being the only table to didn’t receive bread but to be honest if we did I would have never ate my meal. My husband got the blackened grouper sandwich and the grouper tasted amazing. Everyone was very attentive and the food was really amazing. Totally recommend this place.

LOOOOVED Lock & Key! We took my grandparents here on our last night of vacation. It was a Wednesday and we didn’t have a reservation, which wasn’t a problem. We arrived around 5pm and their dining room was beginning to fill up. The waitress was so nice. Our toddler son was sleeping and they gave us a booth in the corner so he could lay down. For the record, everything we ordered was amazing with the exception of their Key Lime Pie. The taste seemed a little off. For apps, we got the fried conch and the crab cakes. Both were delicious and not enough to go around. We all ordered the stuffed grouper which was plenty of food and it came with a side salad. The grouper was cooked to perfection and the crab it was stuffed with was top knock. I love that it’s located across the street from the beach. We’ll definitely be back next year while on vacation again!

Nice lunch! I had the south beach salad, husband had prime rib sandwich. Very tasty. The prices were a tad high… lunch was $ 90 for 4 of us(2 kids). Parking lot is small but you can park across the street at the beach parking. There is a patio but you can’t see much of the ocean. I would go back just for the food. Atmosphere just so so. Service was great, friendly server. Oh, we had buffalo wings too. REALLY good. Liked the variety on the menu. 4 stars instead of 5 just for the inflated prices.

Wow! Truly not the same restaurant experience we’ve had in past years. It’s definitely turned into a sports bar experience with greasy bar food. It’s all about getting customers drunk on the sugar filled mixed drinks while waiting FOREVER for the food to arrive. Once we got our food,(we ordered most of the grouper dishes — their specialty). We found it hard to believe that we were actually eating grouper. It was bland and over salty and greasy. A few of us were sick later in the afternoon. Not in a hurry to come back. A big disappointment.

Consistently superb. Our go to restaurant friendly staff always smiling and genuine. The food is always delicious. We chose to our Valentine’s night dinner here. Both of us had the prime rib and salad. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. The sides are always flavorful and prepared well. Order a slice of pumpkin bread you won’t be disappointed. The lobster rolls I think are their hidden gem. Well worth their cost and. Mmm mmm delicious.

It says I have checked in twice, but i haven’t. Also note the photo is a «before I tasted the bland» photo. First the good things. Our waiter was as kind as can be! He was extremely attentive and the men and women filling water and taking our plates were great. Now, why the 1-star? Well, to give a small background, I love writing good reviews and I am not picky by all means. I appreciate and respect everyone who works in the food business and what they do on a daily basis. I ordered the mussels for an appetizer in garlic wine sauce and it was good, although I have been to many other restaurants in Florida that serve more than 10 – 12 mussels or clams in generous proportions, for less… or more. The Caesar salad is drenched in bottled dressing, with parmesan cheese from a shaker, and not fresh. It has no extras or seasonings, so if you want a REAL Caesar salad, do not go here, and ask for dressing on the side. I know this restaurant is rated well, and I could have been there on an off day, but they are SOEXPENSIVE for the crappy quality food I received. I will not be going back. I was on a pre-Valentine’s date with my lovely and we had just finished going to the beach. I read the grouper sandwich was where it’s at so I ordered the Key Largo Grouper which sounded and even looked amazing… but to my dismay, it had NO seasoning. When I say NO I mean, none. The Bearnaise sauce was average and had no flavor, the pan seared grouper was edible, and because I was hungry, I ate most of it… thinking it would taste better afterwards, but it was bland, throughout. My date’s food came out cold, so they had to rewarm it, and when the waiter talked to the manager he approached us very kindly and removed both of our plates, signifying he would pay for the two entrees. He didn’t. To my surprise, only the one dish was compensated for, and I assume it’s because I ate more than half of the grouper after applying vigorous amounts of salt and pepper all over everything(the veggies, the baked potato, and the fish). I was so disappointed, and we will never be going back. I have no idea why they get such good reviews, maybe because 80% of the customers they have are over 70+ years old and enjoy bland, unseasoned food that is sometimes cold. I will also note that they seem to have several staff taking the checks, and waiters, plus the water«people» and the random table cleaners… so not one person is really taking care of you = lack of communication. We had a waiter take our order, a busboy take our plates after appetizers, and a random server pick up our check to finish the transaction. Between the cold serving, the disorganized communication, the promise of apology and then not taking off for both meals complained about(and rightly so) I think we are better off traveling to Sarasota or St. Pete’s or just going to a «hole in the wall» fresh seafood joint for more attention to value in product and customer service… do not go here, seriously! And I have had good seafood, when I was stationed in Maryland for my U.S. service in the Army, their seafood was amazing in quality and flavor, every time.

While on vacation and walking the beach I looked for a lunch place via Unilocal.Love the site. There were a few to choose from in this town but I am glad I chose this one. The food was good. Cold day today in Florida but the enclosed patio seating was just fine for us. The soup could have been hotter but over all we had a great eating experience.

Came back for more and: was glad we did! Everything just keeps getting bigger. Or, maybe it’s just me: from all the good food. Thank you Lock and Key.

This place is a typical little beachside bar & grill. It’s not haute cuisine, but good drinks and decent food. I had the stuffed grouper which was good, but the presentation of the sweet potato was unimaginative and the green beans looked dead. The key lime martini was absolutely delish!(Made by Kristen) Good place to drink and chill.

Good atmosphere directly across from the beach. Sitting at the bar is always a treat, entertaining & attentive staff. Lobster rolls were very good. Bar could use a good wash/wipe down, crumbs where I was sitting.

I wasn’t sure whether to give 1 star or 2 but upon reflection of the total experience, decided to give 1. My wife and I decided to try this place despite some negative reviews because, in fairness, there were a large number of good reviews. We went there on a Sunday night and there was a Sinatra cover singer there. The volume level was deafening and we should have left but it was late and we were hungry. We both ordered sautéed grouper, shrimp, and scallops, not a hard dish to screw up one would think. The dishes were served at barely above room temperature, looked poached rather than sautéed, and were tasteless. My wife’s sweet potato was uncooked and my mashed potatoes were out of a box, not something expected at $ 70 for 2 people. We should sent it all back but the volume level was so intense we could neither think nor communicate. Our big expensive mistake! If you’re planning a meal there, add my comments to all the other naysayers. You can eat better at Denny’s!

Fun place, good food, good bar. I was in the area on vacation and tried this place a couple of times. Love the happy hour tickets, a chance to get a drink for fifty cents or half price. The food… is pretty darn good. Had the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer. Good oyster, lots of spinach and just enough cheese. Good choice. Tried a cup of chili. This is a sweet chili with beans. It’s good! Garden salad was fresh and very good. My main course was a 10 oz. NY Strip steak Came with steamed broccoli and a baked potato. The steak was well seasoned and good quality. …Aces! Veggies were good. My sisters both had parmesan crusted chicken over butter linguini.. And both sisters give a thumbs up. Nice size dining area, you can also eat outside. Bar is smallish, but again, you can sit outside. The staff was polite, friendly, attentive and payed attention to the diners. I give the staff 5 stars. Parking is kind of tight. Clean. I liked it.
