The male owner of this establishment is extremely unprofessional and rude. I brought a necklace in to get repaired and when I received it back it gave me an allergic reaction. So when my boyfriend and I went back to ask them about the chain the man became very irate and started to yell at me saying that we were accusing him of stealing our chain. He didn’t listen to anything we had to say and shouted that we leave the store fortunately the woman there decided to help us. I will say this sort of irrational behavior is very alarming and makes me very uneasy. I do not recommend this jeweler what so ever.

My husband took his Rolex into Englewood Jewelers for servicing. We were told numerous times that they were an ‘authorized Rolex service center’. After spending $ 428 for servicing the watch NOW had water damage on the dial and was stopping — which it had never done in 30 years. After bringing up these issues to the husband and wife owners of the store and asking once again, «are you an authorized Rolex service center?» and getting a «yes» three times we then called Rolex only to find that Englewood Jewelers has not been an authorized service center for YEARS! When we called back to tell them Rolex’s answer they said, «Well, we aren’t really an authorized center but we send it out to someone who is». After asking for the name of the center the response was, «I have to look up the name». We were never given an answer. The next week we brought the watch to Rolex. Their diagnosis? «The watch has not been serviced at least within the past year(and there was not the usual Rolex etching inside the case indicating servicing). The crystal NOW needs to be replaced because of water damage as well as scratches in the crystal and the movement needs servicing !!(Needs servicing? Isn’t that what the $ 428 was for?) My bill from Rolex to restore this watch is $ 2100 !! This watch was fine when we brought it in for mere annual servicing! NOWWEWILLHAVETOPAY $ 2100FORDAMAGETOOURROLEXWATCH. DAMAGETHATWASCAUSEDBYENGLEWOODJEWELERS! They did refund us our $ 428 and would not release the name of the«authorized Rolex facility» that they apparently sent it out to. So basically, we loaned them our watch so they could damage it. Luckily, we have been assured by Rolex that their Legal team is looking into this and we are in weekly contact with them. We will never walk into Englewood Jewelers again. I will make sure that all of my friends, family in Tenafly, Englewood and Alpine hear about this. Laura I, Tenafly, New Jersey
