Mediocre food at best. Service ok… Ny steak tough and chewy. Cream spianch no pizazz… Bread good… Wedge salad of. Fri night at 7:30pm, place was 1⁄3 full. They will never make it in n scottsdale, with Domincks, steak 44, mastros, ocean club, eddie v who wants mediocre overpriced food?

Went there on a Friday night at 6:15. While we had reservations, there were plenty of tables. Quite a surprise, but maybe it was early. Restaurant was nicely decorated and certainly had an up-scale ambience. Typical of Colorado, nice jeans and a nice shirt are acceptable dress, but you wouldn’t stand out in a sport coat, etc. The food was excellent. We each had a salad and an entrée, the Beet Salad and the«Waldorf» salads were very tasty and pleasing. Entrees were the Ahi Tuna, just right, high quality tuna done perfectly. The Bison Filet was good and lean and melted in your mouth. Dessert was a delicious brownie prepared at the table with quite the display. Highly recommend. Not low calorie, for sure, but worth it! Our waiter, Omid, was attentive, friendly and very helpful navigating the menu, his recommendations were spot on. Haven’t had service like that in quite a while. Add a bottle of Stag’s Leap, Hands of Time as well as a few cocktails and it was a great night.

We eat here at least once a week since it has opened and have found the service to be impeccable and the food is always delicious! In addition, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, warm and welcoming. The ambiance is stunning! You will always find managers checking in to ensure your meal is perfect. The bartenders are fantastic. When we sit in the dining room, we love Douglas, Matthew and Jennifer… although we have never dealt with anyone that is not tremendous. This restaurant is BRILLIANT!

I have now been here a handful of times.(Ok 4) 3 times at the bar and one for our company holiday party. First– bar/happy hour. Pretty decent wine list and cocktails nothing to outstanding. The food. We have had the tacos and very tasty there was three and had to fight over the last one. I won. We also got the snails and the butter and garlic sauce was delish. The snails we good and not too rubbery. After that I got bread and dipped it in the sauce. I also got the French onion soup(not on happy hour) and it was tasty a little too salty for me But would recommend it. Event. We were in the back room. The room was set up nicely however lacking decorations and had to go through there supply to jaz it up. We had a preset menu. I had the house wedge and it was tasty the caesar looked blah. I got the filet and it was very tasty and cooked like a like it rare! The side were asparagus and they were crisp. The potatoes were tasty but needed more. Desert peanut butter Reese’s and carrot cake. Both way too sweet and did not eat either. However hubby loved it and raved about it. So that would be a thumbs up! Bonus join there club and earn points and get money off for your birthday. Worth the $ 20 and paid for itself after me visit.

I’m a frequent diner at Eddie Merlot’s and I’ve received nothing short of great service and great food every single time I’ve been there. I was also at the bar last night and the only one that was acting childish was Christine A(see her review). It’s evident based on the multiple one star reviews she’s given that she’s not going to be pleased anywhere and just likes to stir the pot. Eddie Merlot’s is a welcome addition to the DTC, don’t let one miserable person sway your opinion of this fantastic steakhouse.

This place should be called Trailer Park Steakhouse. This was the most low-class steakhouse on the planet. I think they must have poached their manager from Longhorn Steakhouse or something. They actually allow children to sit at the bar. I was so uncomfortable, I left. The food was not good. My meat was completely overcooked and there were no sauces or anything for it. The service was terrible and un-attentive. The last thing DTC needed was another steakhouse. I give Eddie Merlot’s 4 years before they close. With their attitude and poor plating, they won’t be able to compete with Shanahan’s, Perry’s or even Cool River. This place belongs in a trailer park, not a nice neighborhood.

My mother in law suggested we dine here to celebrate. Eddie Merlot’s did not disappoint. We were ecstatic with our experience. Food was out of this world amazing. Our server was terrific too. What a special evening. Thank you.

Just an overpriced and over pretentious steakhouse. While I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants, we decided to give this one a try because it was new and close to home. We were enticed by a promotional gift card — save your money! The food was nothing special and we were over charged for one of the entrees and one glass of wine. We should have gotten the bill corrected, but the service was so bad we just wanted to get out. They spent a lot on the décor, but to my mind they aren’t paying attention to what counts.

Attended a private breakfast event, so I can’t comment on the dinner menu, but I will say that the breakfast buffet spread and service were excellent. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and the chairs and table cozy. Some rooms have fire places. The place is impeccable. Ambiance much nicer than other restaurants in the area(i.e. Shanahan’s & Del Friscos). I can’t wait to dine for dinner and hope the food is as notable as the décor!

Nice ambiance with an extremely friendly staff. I was a bit disappointed in a couple of things: The waiter really talked up their iceberg salad(it takes a lot to make iceberg lettuce sound good), but he had me at bleu cheese. The salad comes out and there is no bleu cheese and a vinaigrette dressing. The broccoli that came out with the meal wasn’t really ripe. It was a nice green on top, but very yellow underneath. The carrot cake was to die for. The piece was huge and I had to force myself to stop eating it and take the rest home. Overall, a decent experience. Would I go back? Not sure. Given the large number of options for steak houses in the area, I would probably choose somewhere else.

Was very disappointed, they just didn’t pay any attention to detail. The food was tasty but lukewarm, the steak was on a cold plate. Took us three and a half hours to eat! You had to wait forever for your drinks, we ordered chocolate martinis they had no chocolate in them, waitress said sorry we have no chocolate! So she gave us a free bananas foster and we had to wait 30 minutes for that, and a girl in training made them and they were awful! The manager should really take the time to come to your table no sign of him. It wasn’t busy for a Saturday nite at all! Such a shame great looking place but there not going to make it, for the money you pay you want great service!!! view helps others learn about great local businesses. I don’t write reviews maybe one before this. The dinners were great!!! Are table had fish, steak, and the jumbalya, the last was so good everyone was eating off are friends plate. From start to finish we had a lot of fun(are waiter was Jim D). He was very helpful with are wine choosing and I am hard to please when it comes to wine. He brought us samples and made sure everyone was happy. The bill was $ 400.00 with tip(4 of us) that is not bad with all we had to eat and drink. One last thing, the whole staff was very warm and friendly and I think most of them came by are table to block the sun from my eye for the ten minutes it was coming though the top window. Thank you GM Jeff for a great night will be back soon.

Went for our first visit tonight with a party of 4. We made reservations due to so many reviews saying this place can get packed, but there were several open tables when we got there(Friday night at 8.) Service was great, but not up to the caliber of a Capital Grille, etc. Food was overall very good as well. Members of our party had the wagyu New York strip, scallops, filet mignon, and prime rib, as well as mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, and oysters in a half shell. The scallops and wagyu were the highlights. The wine recommendation with dinner was excellent. Will be back, but not ready to claim«Best in Denver» title, yet.

We were so excited to try Eddie Merlot’s this past week. We had a friend recommend it and we usually trust his culinary opinions. We made Monday night reservations for 4 at 7:15. The place wasn’t dead when we arrived, but by the time we were sat(7:30) the place was pretty much cleared out. Service was slower than what we expected but we tend to give a fairly reasonable grace period for newer restaurants. We ordered 6 different types of appetizers that were all delicious! Then it came time to order our entrees and two of the 4 people at the table wanted crab legs… Apparently the restaurant ran out… They ran out of crab legs on a Monday night that didn’t seem to be extremely busy. I ordered the $ 99 Wagyu rib eye and it was… OK. Definitely not worth the price for the taste. Our server was Linda and she was so sweet and apologetic due to the situation. She paid for a drink or two and three desserts. Honestly, Linda is the only reason this place gets the 3-start review and not something lower.

I typically sit at the bar and do enjoy that they have live music on the weekends. The bartenders are hit or miss. Some are super attentive and great, a couple are lacking. However the food is always consistent. they will offer you good bread, but don’t go to crazy… you will want your meal! The sliders off the bar menu are my favorite! That is not my normal go-to, sliders are smaller and therefore tend to dry out more and taste of more bread than meat. However, here they get it RIGHT everytime. So good. The house chips and the fries are both very good too. We usually get a side of BBQ — which tastes similar to KC Masterpiece, but either way complements the burgers. I have tried a few entrees as well and never been disappointed, but funny enough with all the great selections… I find it hard not to order the sliders… maybe they are addictive? A couple people have told me to try the carrot cake and I never have… always full. However, when paying the check they give you a cold piece of chocolate that is always satisfying and especially great if you have one sip of red wine left in your glass. I have been 4 or 5 times now and will be back again.

Really disappointing. I am a regular visitor to many prime steakhouses and this is not it. If you are looking for a classy meal steer clear.

Update: I’ve dropped Merlot’s two stars based on a few recent experiences and a disturbing trend. A few weeks ago I dropped in to revisit the burger, which I ordered medium. The first one came out basically raw. They opted to make me another, and that came out raw as well. Although they comped the meal and gave me an appetizer certificate, I didn’t eat that night. I just returned for another round. It’s the second or third time I’ve entered the bar area and it was freezing. My last visit people were requesting a move to another area of the bar because they were cold. Patrons should not have to tell staff about this; it was obvious and staff should be more aware. I didn’t order a drink right away, and the bartenders basically forgot about me; I eventually had to flag them down to order. Neither of them mentioned the happy hour specials. I ordered food and got a placemat, but no setup(napkin/silverware), which is completely classless for a place like this(it is a common problem with many restaurants in Denver). When my food showed up, I couldn’t eat it. Had to flag the bartender down-again. Neither bartender took ownership of my service, so I basically got asked the same questions by each one, like déjà vu service; annoying. The Bloody Mary tasted strange; I’ve had way better. No one at the front desk bid me farewell when I left. No longer impressed; I might be taking quite a hiatus from Merlot’s. First Review I’ve driven by Merlot’s plenty of times and finally decided to check it out on a Friday night for happy hour. I’m a bar diner, and the bar area is modern/very impressive; it’s a refreshing change from the traditional dark steakhouses. Thankfully there were not too many people at the bar so I could easily get a seat(rarely the case with a few other steakhouses in the area). There are plenty of low-tops in the bar area for casual seating. I started with the Tito’s Cosmo; really enjoyed it. That was followed by the best burger I’ve had in recent memory. Not only was the beef exceptional, but the bun made it a culinary delight. The bar service was excellent and the manager stopped by for a chat. They did everything they could to make me feel welcome. Live music started shortly after I arrived — a guitarist– and it was a nice complement to my experience. The dining room is nicely decorated; dinner menu is pricey. I’ve deducted one star for two reasons: Their happy hour drink/food menu is very good, but happy hour ends at 6PM(I made it in 5 min before it ended.). Most of the places in the area have HH until 7PM. I’d even settle for 6:30. Secondly, ketchup was not served with the burger; I had to ask for it. I would not expect this kind of a miss in an establishment like this. While the salt/pepper is often forgotten at most Denver restaurants I patronize, I give Merlot’s special credit for their swanky«clicker» salt and pepper grinders. Once the steady patrons at the usual suspects a few miles north find their way to Merlot’s, you can expect this to be a very popular destination. Do yourself a favor and stop in. The bartender said their French-pressed coffee is exceptional.

First, the service was amazing. Yes it gets very busy, but if you go early, you will be happy you did. Joe S. took care of us and he knows his stuff. He’s worked in some of the finest dining around and knows how things should be presented, pairing of wines, etc. Christine Kim is the Manager and she was a joy to talk to. She made sure we were taken care of and that everything was to our satisfaction. Pricing is where you would expect it to be. Awesome place to take clients or a great date night. Ask for Joe!

Decided to try a relatively new place, Eddie Merlot’s, and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is open and light with beautiful décor. We chose to sit in the lounge because it was happy hour. They have a great menu for the dining room that is reminiscent of Del Frisco’s or Brooks. The lounge menu includes a great selection of tapas and signature cocktails as well as a large beer and wine selection. I had a caeser salad and the Prime bacon cheeseburger with the special fries instead of chips. Everything was really good and the service was excellent. As a nice touch, the manager, Frank, even came over to introduce himself and make sure we were enjoying our dinner. For dessert we splurged on the table side bananas foster and were not disappointed.
