Service was polite and attentive. Food was served in a timely fashion. My Plate was less then impressive. Hub us plate looked great. His Fries were terrific. I’ll give it another try and order something different

Stopped here yesterday with a party of 13, 10 adults and 3 kids. Our server was great! She easily handled all 13 of us. Everyone’s meal was good. Nobody had a bad one. My veggie burger was great, the basil pesto was outstanding with it, and the portabello mushroom was thick and juicy. This is an excellent option in the area!

This tavern is close to home and we have gone in just the two of us, as a family, and with another couple. It isn’t a place I recommend to go with kids. It’s very cozy and has a nice ambiance. As far as the servers it’s a 50⁄50 shot. We’ve had a server there that set the bar so high with her amazing and attentive service but then we’ve had a grumpy, ditzy, and brisk server as well. As for the food we’ve yet to be disappointed! Our favorites are the Chili(perfect blend of flavor) The Meat load sliders(everything about them is Perfection), The Torta Rose(the sausage is perfectly cooked, the mushrooms & spinach compliment the dish), and last but not least my hubs loves the Fish and chips. They also have a great draft menu!

A very cool place that I would have never know about if my friend didn’t suggest we meet here. It’s a bit off the main drag for me, but a perfect meeting place if you have friends scattered throughout Northern CT off off I91. Super cool folks working here… just enough televisions… and about a dozen seats at the bar. I didn’t try the food, but the sandwiches passing by did look great. The draft beer selection is completely on point and they strongly support the local Brewers. I will absolutely be back. I’m just bummed that I didn’t discover this place sooner…

I work in an office building close by and this is definitely the go-to place for tasty, affordable chow. We often have office happy hours here, it’s fun, but it’s a popular joint so be prepared for it to be loud and standing room only on certain nights. Highly recommend for a casual bite to eat! My favorites are the apple & chicken salad, the patty melt, and the sweet potato fries(though the regular fries are great as well)!

Went for an early New Year’s dinner with friends. The food, staff and beer selection were great. I had a Tumbleweed burger and it was fantastic. Fresh, juicy piled high with onion rings and bbq sauce. The fries were great as well. My wife got fish and chips and received a huge portion that she could barely make a dent in. It also was great. Others got the Mac and cheese which I didn’t try but it was plentiful and homemade. They loved it. Everyone there was super friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back.

Recently discovered this place and it quickly became my absolute favorite local pub. GREAT beer selection and pub food rocks. Grabbed a special once and it didn’t disappoint. Can get really crowded at happy hour with after work meet-ups. Fun vibe.

Although I probably should have ordered something else, I did enjoy my mac and cheese dish despite the overwhelming flavor of pepper. Most cream sauces should have some pepper and spicing up a cheese sauce is even better but this was neither spicy nor classic… it was just too peppery for me. I should have had the Pasta a la Vodka but the thought of feta cheese in a vodka sauce seemed a bit too odd to taste good. But, after seeing pics others have posted of it, it looks pretty good. My friend had the Chicken Marsala, it looked awesome served with a large helping of mashed potatoes. The settings included bread plates when we sat down, Looking at the menu it looks like bread isn’t included and none was served or offered so they could probably loose the bread plates with their table settings or, maybe I’m just old school but, maybe they could step it up just a tad and include rolls with meals. The price was pretty good, my meal and a soda was under 18.00 and my friends was around $ 20.00 or so and ncluded a glass of wine.

First off they had said they had sip of sunshine on draft when I called. I drove 25 mins out of the way and the waitress explained they have not had it for a few days!!! How can this be? I showed the waitress I called and she said the person that answered the phone must have inadvertently said yes they had it. I smell BS! It was a ridiculous way to get you there. However once we were there our server was great and the food was decent definitely better than an Applebee’s or Chili’s. I don’t like the fact they lie to get you on the door. I get if the keg just kicked, but our server said they haven’t had it for days. Bad business practices. I definitely won’t be back.

This isn’t a place I’d normally go, as I’m a vegan and there aren’t many options on the menu. However, we hosted a party in the side room for a friend’s birthday, and I can’t say how impressed our entire group was with our waiter. Since we had buffet-style food, he was mostly focused on drinks. Throughout the party, he made several great drink recommendations for both beer and cocktails, was quick, offered samples if we wanted to try before committing to a whole glass, got everyone’s order correct, and remembered our preferences. I’m a picky drinker, and every recommendation he made was spot on. Plus, at one point, I ordered what I know is a ridiculous drink: a vodka tonic with«an excessive amount of limes». Now, I like my v + t limey, and anytime I ask for extra limes or an excessive amount of limes, I’m brought maybe one or two extremely thin slices. Brendan promised to get my drink right, and I had to laugh when he came back… there were thick slices covering ¾ of the glass rim. This guy was incredible! Even though I’d probably have to special order a vegan meal, I’d go back there just to have him as a waiter.

High points: Draught beer selection is pretty extensive and very delicious. You can tell they take care of their Draught system unlike some bars I have been to. Atmosphere could be described as cozy and relaxed. Volume was a little loud given that the place was packed full. We did not stay for the band(we went on a Saturday evening around 630) Kettle Chips with the Chipotle aoili are a phenomenal combination for an appetizer! The perogi appetizer with bacon and onions was also a very good choice. Chicken Panini was very good, tasted fresh. Low Points: The Texas Tumbleweed burger was okay. It came with WAYTOOMANY«tumbleweeds»(which are fried onion straws) on it. In fact I had more of those then actual meat between my bun. I did however enjoy the fried jalapeños on it. All in all its a good place to go for a good beer and a decent meal. Would I go there again? Absolutely.

Type of order: Sit down meal, dinner Food Quality: Food was ok to good. My wife enjoyed the meal. I thought the steak was ok; would not order again, but would try the other items. Appetizers were solid(nachos). Beer Selection: Excellent. Something like 45 – 50 beers on draft, plus a decent selection of bottles to boot. Draft lines Stocked with probably the best selection of craft beers in this area(Enfield). Well done for the beer. Service: Nice staff, professional, and seemingly knowledgeable. Sign of a good staff: Another server ran food to assist our food coming out. Well done, and a rarity in a smaller owned family style business. Atmosphere: Family /Pub style. A little bit dark, but the décor was ok to good, and definitely seemed very clean. Entertainment: Absolute, utter joke. Stayed 15 minutes for Trivia, which was a 1995 program running on tvs, with ridiculously easy questions, and little to no interaction between the host and the crowd. Couldn’t stand the game. Hope they come to their senses on this eventually. Overall Experience: Nice experience. Would love to give them a shot on the bingo and live music to see how busy it gets not that I have moved to the area. Recommend Rating: Suggested for locals and visitors for a good time.

Love this place! Food is excellent! We have never had a bad meal yet. Drinks and beer selection are just as good. Outside seating in the summer is an extra bonus.

For the most part, I like this place… though nothing about it makes me scream to go here. The food is simple, and usually good. Basic bar food that will not overwhelm you whatsoever. It is edible and won’t make you sick either, however. The interior is nice and was redone about 7 or 8 years ago. If there is no band, it is perfect. However, it is fairly small and if there is live entertainment — [parking] and getting inside is an absolute nightmare. I was in there one night for the Savage Brothers… someone, not even in our party, spilled a drink on me, and the bouncers threatened to throw me out!!! I have been here dozens of times, and in fairness, that was a one time incident. They always have plenty of new, different beers and their prices are competitive with anywhere else around. Staff has never been overly friendly, but by no means rude or inattentive.

I recently went here for a few drinks with friends on a Saturday night. It is a cute place tucked right off of Route 5 in enfield. It has a nice ambiance, with outside seating and decorative lights. They had a live band playing top 40 with some 90s classics thrown in. Crowd was kind of sparse; mostly local kids keeping to themselves. It was smaller than I was expecting, especially with so many positive Unilocal reviews. Maybe we came on an off-night, or maybe it’s just par for the course for northern CT. Contrary to other reviews, I didn’t notice a mostly-60+ crowd, but there were some thrown in for sure. We ordered the nachos, which were quite good. The full size was huge and easily fed 3 and was relatively cheap. They have a huge menu of diverse mixed drinks so we decided to try a couple. We ordered the mojito and a pineapple/mango type beverage. Both tasted so bad we were afraid to order any other specialty beverages. So if you go here, stick to your tried and true mixed drink preferences or just stick with beer.

Maybe it just wasn’t what we were looking for but I was extremely disappointed in this place. I showed up on a Saturday night to meet some family and friends because we heard they had live music. We initially grabbed a booth in the corner but after hearing we’d have others join us the hostess nicely sat us at another larger table. While a nice gesture, we ended up at a table in the center of the band room, where the table next to us was removed for a dance floor. Here is where the night started to go bad. The music was SO loud. I literally could not here the person sitting next to me. Then the dancing started… literally at our table(picture butt after butt in my face). We had ordered a dessert before our group came(it was stale and tasted microwaved). Did I mention the crowd was across the board 60 plus? And we’re not all that young either(25 – 45 years old). Overall, drinks were good. But we ended up leaving early and going elsewhere. The extreme volume of the band and dancers on our table pretty much made our unappetizing dessert not worth eating. Go elsewhere unless you are only drinking and don’t plan on having a conversation.

The Yarde continues to be on the top of our go-to list. We stopped in last night and sat at the bar. We enjoyed a few delicious brews-the tap list is amazing. I had the Caprese Flatbread which was unusually delicious-I would definitely get it again. My husband had a Pastrami Sandwich-the meat was so tender. He raved about it for the rest of the night! We have not had anything we did not like here. The servers are always pleasant and helpful. Go to the Yarde Tavern for a great dining experience.

We frequent the Yarde a couple times a month or so and have never had any complaints. We came in with friends a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night and had a nice experience. We shared a spinach dip which was tasty and all ordered different things. Me and the Badger ordered a chicken quesadilla and a Pastrami sandwich. Quesadilla was HUGE and very good(hard to mess up a quesadilla!), my honey’s sandwich was good but really spicy for him and its not mentioned on the menu that the mustard sauce has a serious kick. Our friends had pulled pork and a patty melt, both of their plates were clean! We enjoyed cocktails and beers and they came promptly. Our waiter was very friendly and was very good. Overall this place is great for a good beer and a snack or sandwich. Also always a fan of their clam chowda.

An excellent bar on the edge of town. This place has a nice atmosphere, a diverse drink selection and a great menu. I also went when there was live entertainment and the band was rocking, plus there was no cover on a Friday night. They also serve food until midnight on Fridays. I had a pastrami rueben that was perfectly put together. The pastrami tasted amazing and was rich and flavorful. The sandwich was well put together, was not greasy and was firm enough that it did not fall apart in your hands. I also upgraded to the kettle chips and was very glad that I did. The kettle chips were crispy and tasted like the offspring between a french fry and chip sexual encounter. My companion had the Mediterranean wrap which she was said was great. The french fries were great and very plump. This is definitely a place worth checking out, especially on a night with live music.
