Had dinner on Thursday, May26th. We did not have reservations but they were able to seat the two of us. The service was prompt. But then it took a long time to get our food and for the server to come back. The prices were reasonable for the restaurant. I’ve been there before and it’s always been very good. I’ve always said at the bar. I really like the bar it’s really nice. Bartender is always nice as well. This night however I had the red clam and pasta. The clams are way too chewy. I wasn’t able to finish the dish.($ 19) The salads were both OK. My friend had shrimp and mushroom with marinara and pasta. He said it was delicious. I had two glasses of 14 hands wine and I got to say the prices for wine are extremely inexpensive! I do enjoy the ambience and this restaurant very much. It’s definitely worth checking out when you’re in the area. And if you live in the area, lucky you!

Our favorite restaurant– make reservations or you’ll likely eat at the bar, which is fine. Try the Chicken Saltamboca. Enjoy

My absolute favorite restaurant! Stairs are hard to climb though, so elderly may have trouble.

We went here tonight and had an enjoyable time. We had a reservation for 6pm so we decided to grab drinks at the bar and we all were happy with the drinks that were made for us. They don’t have a drink menu but if you’re looking for a shamrock shake type drink the«Grasshopper» was delicious and is good to enjoy as a regular drink or a dessert drink. My family had the«Utica Green» appetizer special which my family enjoyed on garlic bread toast. After that we ordered our meals which came with fresh Italian bread and salads. My dad and I had veal dishes and my mom and sister had eggplant parm. All of the meals came with a side of pasta which definitely made it easy to have leftovers. To finish the night we split a cannoli which was very yummy to end the night. Our service was very good and the staff was very friendly.

Best restaurant in town. Lemon chicken with a side of penne vodka. Doesn’t get any better. Bread with their dipping oil is unreal.

A great hidden gem. Not big on Italian restaurants for several reasons. Nothing original here, but great pasta, great tomato sauce, and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

If you want amazing Italian food, go here. We miss this place now that we’ve moved so we are sure to eat here when we are visiting the area! Make sure to get reservations as it gets busy. It’s unbelievable how great the food is for the price. $ 10 for a HUGE plate of gnocchi and meatballs and it includes bread and salad?! You won’t leave hungry or disappointed!

What a cozy spot nestled in Endicott! The employees are absolutely fantastic! I wasn’t a big fan of the calamari as I was expecting fried but still tasty just not what I expected. The filet wrapped in bacon was sensational and the potatoes delish! They have limited bar menu, no prosecco, no grand marnier, no St. Germain but I was told they ordered the liqueurs for the first time so will look forward to that on my next visit. Not much by my office for happy hour so glad I found this place.

I am proud to be the first person from the Los Angeles, Hollywood California area to review this restaurant on Unilocal. It is a gem and worth the drive if you are not close. The food is excellent, the service excellent, and the ambiance very good. It’s on the second floor of a non-descript building in a area that looks sketchy. They have their own private parking lot. White table clothes. You can dress up a bit and feel comfortable, but casual is fine. Tip to owner: Dim the lights a bit at dinner time in the dining room, and you will have excellent ambiance. It’s so bright that film production would not need lighting if they shot here. This Section For Guys Only: If you want to impress your woman, want to easily build some romance, and not blow the budget too big, take her here. You can’t miss. Perfect setting. They also have a nice quaint bar. We talked to folks at 2 tables next to ours and they were major regulars, and knew the menu by heart. We would definitely dine here again.

Probably the best Italian meal in the triple cities. Old style restaurant and ambience complements the great food. If you haven’t tried it, shame on you. If you’re a local… where have you been all these years? Anything saltimbocca(chicken or veal) is great! Sounds crazy but try the snap peas!

Visited Oaks once again and have to say theirs are the best Utica Greens on the planet! For atmosphere, food and service I bestowing my rare and coveted 5 stars. Don’t miss the gnocchi alla vodka. OMG! This just made me write like an addled 13 year old schoolgirl. It’s that good!

On a recent visit to Oaks Inn I was pleasantly surprised by an excellent meal. I had gone in the past and thought the eggplant parm was over breaded and the calamari fra diavolo was watery and unappealing. However, this most recent experience completely changed my opinion. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca and asked to substitute the side of pasta for a side of gnocchi with vodka sauce(for a relatively reasonable up charge of $ 6). The chicken saltimbocca was prepared in a way I had never experienced saltimbocca in the past. It was cut up into medium sized medallions and covered with the most delicious cream sauce, which was topped with perfectly cooked mushrooms, pieces of prosciutto and melted cheese. It was piping hot when it arrived and was one of the most comforting meals I have had at a local restaurant in quite some time. The gnocchi was the perfect side; the vodka sauce was flavorful and the gnocchi’s were soft and pillow-y(which is not exactly easy to find). The service was quick and efficient and I left feeling like I could not have made that meal any better in my own kitchen, which is really the whole purpose of eating out.

I would rate this place somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. It just seems like they could be doing so much more. To start, the bread was flavorless and tasted store bought. The Caesar salad tasted funky, like they were using cheap domestic Parmesan instead of the good stuff(I guess that’s why it’s $ 5 though). The chicken saltimboca was solid, but the eggplant Parmesan was very bland — the eggplant didn’t have a flavorful breading and the sauce was also bland. The service is strange — you really feel like you’re in someone’s living room but not in a good way.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Although you might wonder if you are walking into a restaurant as you enter the stairs from the street, the atmosphere is cozy and the aromas enticing. The chicken saltimbocca is amazingly delicious and I can never bring myself to try other dishes as I know I will regret passing up the chance for the delight of this dish! The place is usually very busy so reservations are a good idea.

Yum! Went here for the first time and overall was pretty impressed. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was classy. My main complaint was the wait. I had made reservations 5 days in advance for my party of 4, and we still had a half hour wait. Passed the time quickly at the bar, but it seemed there were empty tables when we were seated. Maybe they’re trying to keep pace and not overwhelm the kitchen? It’s not a huge deal to me, but if you’re in a hurry or want to just drop in, this isn’t the place to go. The food came quickly — fresh yummy bread, with dipping oil. Salads were a nice variety of lettuces, pepperoncini, chickpeas, olives and tomatoes, above average from other local Italian joints. Main dishes were large and filling. Most entrees come with a pasta side — the homemade pasta costs a little more. My eggplant parm was 5 slices and had a nice crisp crust… They might deep fry it? The cheese was plentiful and the sauce was well balanced. If you like a lot if sauce, the side pasta might not have enough. I had a red sauce based dish, so mine was fine, but someone in my group had saltimbocca and wished they had more red sauce on their side. I’d like to go back and try some apps and dessert. Service was good and everything was very reasonably priced. I’d go back again!

Contender for the best Italian restaurant in the area, would be well-regarded in any area. Comfortable, cozy, lounge-like environment in a pleasant old Italian neighborhood, reasonable prices, generous portions. It does get busy and you’ll want a reservation. Highly recommend the chicken saltimbocca. Easy walk up the block to Antonio’s for gelato cocktails and sometimes live music afterwards if you want to make a night of it.

Excellent Italian food. The salad that starts their entrees is generous. I had the Eggplant Parmesan and my husband the Veal Francesca. He has been around the world as a Merchant Mariner and he claimed that this was«the best veal ever». No small praise. The restaurant is on the second floor, up stairs. I am not sure if it is otherwise accessible. There is its own small parking lot, and just across the street is the lot for the George W. Johnson Park(complete with one of the 6 carousels in the area), which is used for parking by patrons in the evenings. We were there on Wednesday about 6pm. Although they asked if we had reservations — we didn’t — they were able to seat us. We had tried it on a previous trip on a Monday and it was not open. Highly recommend, and suggest making reservations to be certain. You will not be disappointed.
