Loved the patio!!! Very lux and romantic :-) The Ribeye was very good — a little overcooked for medium-rare, next time, I’ll order rare. The bread they brought out with 3 different dipping sauces was amazing. We also had the filet mignon, which was good, but a little dry. The artichoke appetizer was great. Good attention from staff. The real attraction here is the atmosphere — especially the patio.

Food was OK(which is why I give it 2 stars), but the service was horrible. Unprofessional and really disappointing all around. I expected much more from a restaurant of this caliber, especially one that comes off as a «fine dining» establishment.

My super awesome boss gave me a $ 250 gift card for this place as a Christmas present so me and my boyfriend gave it a try. Unfortunately, it was not so great. We ordered the 20oz Prime Ribeye steak to split. Cooked medium rare, because people who go to steak houses and order over cooked meat have no idea what a good steak is. It was cooked to the desired medium rare, however, the steak was very tough. It was not at all tender and it lacked any real flavor. The roasted garlic on the side only helped a bit with the flavor problem. This is a Ribeye steak people! This cut is marbled with fat making it a very tender and incredibly flavorful cut when done properly. Considering the exorbitant prices of a place like this I was expecting way waaayy more! For sides we ordered mac n cheese and broccoli au gratin. No, we were not trying to skimp on calories here! These were actually quite good. The sides and the cheese bread they brought at the beginning of the meal were definitely the highlights. If I was into paying $ 250 for a mac n cheese dinner I would give this place a great rating. We also had the crème brûlée for desert, which was decidedly so so. In summary, I have had better steak at a diner for a fraction of the price. As far as the service goes, it was great. Our waitress was very very nice and super attentive without being overly so. If you’re looking for a good steak, look elsewhere and probably pay a lot less while you’re at it!

Blend food, bad steak, over cooked vegetables. Will never go to this place agin. We could not eat the food and service was so bad. Next time instead of spending close to $ 400 and left hungry will try other places. Shame!!!

I’ve been to this location maybe 10 times and have never had anything wrong except eating too much! I’ve had most of the cuts and they are all great. For a celebration I took a date here, and she’s rarely impressed, you know the type, but she loved the food and ambiance. They even threw in free dessert for our special occasion. I don’t usually spend 300 on a dinner, but when I do, it’s Larsen’s!

Arriving at Larson’s Steakhouse 30 minutes before closing on an off Tuesday night, they couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating if we were celebs or VIP’s. We ordered a lovely bottle if Cab and sat there sipping our grape juice as the crew was closing down the place and never got bum rushed or given the evil eye. I liked this place from the get-go. Our iceberg wedge salads were cold and crisp and delicious. Our rib eye and New York Steaks were cooked perfectly. Our sides and sauces were equally terrific. Although pricey for its Encino environment, it was worth every $$$. In a world with boutique steakhouse chains dotted all over our urban maps(Ruth, Morton’s, Flemming’s, Palms) Larson’s held Its own, if not better.

OMG! I have to say one of the best steak houses in town. As we all know LA has several great steak houses. Larsen’s sticks the most to be. The minute you arrive you are greeted with a warm smile. After couple minutes of being seated I had my drink order taken. About three minutes later the waiter came over and ask me and my guest if we had any questions. Here my choices for appetizers: Steamed clams & mussels Maryland crab cake Spinach, crab and artichoke dip For salads: Blue wedge salad Arugula salad For the Steaks: Japanese A5 Kobe New York Strip Prime dry aged filet Mignon Side Dishes: Macaroni & cheese French Fries Sauteed mushrooms Leave room for desert. As I would order the cheesecake or the chocolate cake.

Came here for the first time And been back 5 more times with my family. I’m always treated really good. The staff is so awesome and the back help guys are super friendly. I always go for the rib eye. I had the New Yorker Oscar style but it was so dry. I love the way they do the a blue cheese and back wrap steak. It melts right into ur mouth. This spot is a five star spot.

I came here last night to celebrate my birthday. I made a reservation online. Upon my arrival I was greeted by their hostess who was very sweet. She escorted me to the table where there was a birthday card waiting for me sighed by all of their staff. Very sweet gesture! I was a little lost on which steak to order. Our waiter(i forgot his name sorry :() kindly explained the difference between their steaks. I went with the New York steak. Amazing choice! My water glass was never empty their staff is extremely attentive. I had a great birthday, their staff goes above and beyond, and their food is amazing! They even called me today and left me a voicemail thanking me for making a reservation. Talk about amazing customer service! Cant wait to be back for my Fathers birthday! Highly recommend!

WoW, still Bad! And again The only good stuff they had was Mac n cheese and their bread those two items alone were just super delicious, but The steak on the other hand was like a cheap steak flavored cardboard. Never again. If you want a good steak you either go splurge at mastros steak house or go to Cheesecake Factory cause it’s way way waaaaayyyyy much better than this mess… waste of money over priced for something that is very poorly cooked or even the quality of the meat is cheap. I was literally wrestling with the steak! I kept on chewing and chewing and chewing but I couldn’t do it anymore my jaw got tired and I have TMJ(jaw problem), so I filled up on Mac and cheese and bread that night. The two stars goes out for the outside seating, Mac and cheese, bread. except they let some idiots smoke a cigar without saying anything, isn’t it the law to not let people smoke? But whatever so many things went wrong that day lol I give up on this place. to this day, and I kid you not every time I pass by this place I frown lol

I just left this place and im in awe! What a sweet gem in a hidden place. The staff is to die for, everyone in the bar area were regulars as the waiters new everyone by name! I literally want to be apart of the regulars crew The happy hour menu is perfect. Prime rib sliders, filet sliders and spinach dip is what we had and it was delicious. The crowd was a fresh off of work crowd, nice quiet chatter and very attentive social staff. I had left a meeting and a coworker and I found this place on Unilocal and decided to try it, we couldnt be happier, they have converted us to regulars. Even met new business friends we are developing a deal with! Cheers!

First off give Larsen’s huge credit for attempting to land a new Steakhouse chain in a marketplace stacked with competition. Everyone knows the usual suspects, Ruth’s Chris, Flemmings, Mortons, Mastro’s and plenty of other regional joints. They are at 5 stores with a 6th opening soon all in the northern part of L.A. or Ventura and one in Henderson, NV. This location is easily missed as it is located on the second floor of an outdoor mini-mall, parking is self contained subterranean. Anyhow, Larsen’s got the nod as a change of pace for a recent meeting place and do to the central location from everyone attending. Once seated the menus were quickly in our hands. A novelty but wow it’s sure helps when ordering there Menu’s are lit for easy reading in the dining room. The dining room is large and a bit on the dark side, our table in the middle of the restaurant was a bit catawampus, rocking on it’s legs. It took a few tries but they got it stabilized. The waters and drinks came out in relatively short order. Several of us shared a little bit of everything. Photo’s with the rundown . The Caesar Salad, not an every time thing but I actually like the salty cured anchovies on the top of the salad now and again. Mac N Cheese-Rich, creamy and decadent. This one had the two dollar bump up with added bacon and sun dried tomatoes. Oysters on the half shell –Nice flavor, fresh, crisp and clean as they should be. Lobster Bisque-Nice chunks of lobster just a bit too salty even for a bisque. Not as velvety as some. Grilled Asparagus –Just enough for everyone and crunchy and fresh withe the right flavors. Grilled Artichoke –Tender Hearts and soft pedals, well prepared. Filet Mignon-their billed star attraction. If you are looking for what sets Larsen’s apart in their own words In reality this was under cooked at medium rare plus as it came out blue. Had to have the kitchen give it another go. I realize this is the hardest thing to do, getting the steak just perfectly cooked as ordered, however this should be a no brainer at a steakhouse. It tends to disrupt the flow of the meal and unfortunately stands out as a misstep during the evening. So is Larsen’s a steakhouse epicurean epiphany? Not really, it is steakhouse formulaic to say the least but that is not a bad thing. The staff was super through, welcoming, professional and attentive as one would expect. The menu is packed with all of the steakhouse favorites, again nothing objectionable there just nothing really breaking new ground. A few hits and some near misses make this Larsen’s definitely worthy of a return visit. P. S. As of October 2015 Local Costco’s do carry Larsen’s gift cards at a discount, $ 100 for $ 80.

Excellent dinner as usual this is not my first time at Larsons but it was the first time at this particular Larson’s location. We got there approximately 20 minutes before closing time and was greeted as if he was the first customer of the day. The manager gave me a call about two days later to check up and see how the service was which I found very welcoming opportunity to be candid and give you my opinion of the restaurant.

I can’t get enough of this place!!! I have been coming here for about six years and every time is such a treat. The staff is great, the food is great, and it’s one of those places that makes you feel at home. I love being able to dine without being rushed or overwhelmed by the anxiety of most servers. This place really has a great vibe. Four Words: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake… for those who have a sweet tooth. Also, let’s no forget how divine that Mac n Cheese is… Steaks are fantastic, but let’s also talk about the drinks. Best Moscow Mules in Los Angeles. Oh, and if you like good eye candy, the manager Adam is a pretty good piece of meat too. Just putting that out there.

As others have stated, the bar is made great by Derrick, Tracy and Junior. They make a great cocktail and I have never seen them anything but charming and welcoming. I mean, seriously, these guys work the room without making it feel like it’s gratuitous or a performance… and know when to cut the charm and get to work so that everyone has food and drink in front of them. I think the guys know they have a good gig and the restaurant knows they have a good team at the bar because I’ve been in there many times and there are only three people I’ve ever seen working the bar. I’ve been in the bar 15 times or so and in the restaurant proper maybe 3 times and service is always good everywhere. I’m not a steak connoisseur but it seems like that kind of over-the-top fare that you see at most of the classic places like Mastro’s. Aside from the beef, they have the Seafood Tower(haven’t tried) and the Lobster Mashed Potatoes(haven’t tried that either) so I don’t think anything stands out as unique. But that’s not the point here. The point is CLASSIC. And between the bartenders, the menu and the live piano, it’s pretty classic.

Defiantly a nice surprise. Since I had a steak recently I ordered a chopped salad and sea bass. The chopped salad was good but nothing to write home about. As far as the fish goes it was one of the better Sea Bass dinners I have ever eaten. Moist and a nice sized piece. The garlic mashed potatoes were quite good as well.

Came here and enjoyed dinner and dessert with some old friends. The ambience is great here. Dimly lit, the menus are backlit to help you see them in the dark! Service here is fantastic and what you’d expect from a nice steak house. Since I’m cutting back in the red meats lately, I ordered the herb crusted chicken breast, which came with a generous helping of rich creamy mushroom sauce and wild rice. The huge portion was large enough to fill me up alone, but I had to take some of it home after devouring way too much of their delicious pre-dinner bread and butter. I know I’m going out of order, but the bread is ahhhhmazing!!! It’s a buttery flaky loaf of perfectly baked bread, which tastes very close to a croissant. The butter melts all over it and I could make it a meal in itself. My friend ordered the 8oz filet, which was cooked to perfection. Dessert? Yes, please! We split the chocolate and peanut butter cake, which had drizzles of chocolate and peanut butter amidst chocolate cake. There were chunky pieces of chocolate in the cake, with veins of peanut butter throughout. The cake was soft and delicious as it melted in your mouth. A decent sized scoop of vanilla nut ice cream accompanied the cake and complimented it well. Another great visit to Larsen’s!
