Its a cute little spot. Well, not so small but cute nonetheless. It was very clean and for us at least no kids around. The Arnold Palmer was made with pink lemonade(that’s different). Staff was nice. We will be back.

Food has always been good. What isn’t that good is the friendliness of the staff. You’ll never receive a «Welcome», «How was your meal» or «Thank you have a nice evening» — oh and you won’t even get a smile. They must train the staff to have the«stone face stare» perfected. At $ 18 bucks a person, someone should be damn well be at least smiling at me.

I’m so glad me and my family came here last Monday after my graduation ceremony(Go Matadors!!!) We made it in time for lunch around 11am which was great timing because when we got there food was fresh and there weren’t many people there yet. Parking: There’s a parking garage in the building and turns out Hokkaido validates your ticket and it’s 2 hours FREE parking(score!) Walking into the restaurant and it was very beautiful, clean, the aroma of delicious Chinese food, me and my family were hungry and excited! Food quality is good. I had a little bit of everything so did my family. There were dishes on the spicy side but a good spicy. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch! The only con I’d have to mention would be that there were not enough waiters/waitresses to help refill our waters and to take additional drink orders we had. It took awhile to finally track someone down only to get an attitude from them in return. But being the mindful person that I am, I explained to my family that it was a Monday around noon and maybe they aren’t usually as busy around this time and day and they probably didn’t know CSUN had a graduation ceremony that morning hence why they were short staffed. I’ll definitely consider coming back but maybe for dinner because I would love to try more seafood like the crab legs, lobster and whatever else they serve in the evening.

What a poor quality! Chairs are really dirty. They don’t seem to care about maintenance at all. Parking was convenient.

I usually don’t like seafood, but this place has a full buffet including fried shrimps, calamari which i like very much. You can choose from a huge variety of sushis and Sashimis, however the sushi is not the best quality. The customer service on the other hand os terrible the waitresses Re not friendly at all and you feel uncomfortable talking to them. A good business should always have great customer service.

Host/Server is horrible. Always on the phone and don’t even care about customers. On the phone since she walked us to the table.

Well, this is a buffet, so manage your expectations accordingly. Freshness might be questionable on a slow day, same with selection. Grill bar is good, sushi is pretty much hit or miss… I always enjoy desserts here, meat is whatever. Good if you want to stuff yourself with whatever food

First time here and I’m never coming back. This place has such HORRIBLE customer service. I only saw the waiter twice ! To ask what drinks and then 2nd time for the check. It was a Wednesday night. It was very slow as I write this there is maybe like 4 tables in use by people. My nephew was calling our waiter. And he ignored him and not once or twice. He acknowledged him and heard him and still ignored ! And the nerve of these people to still charge themselves a 16 $ tip. Nope my nephew went and told them that the service was shitty! And the lady said that it was policy to charge tip. NOITSNOT. I guess these waiters are lazy to work for their tips since its«policy» to charge. My nephew ended up getting that tip removed. don’t settle for crappy service !!!

Had a chance to dine here at dinner time. There was not that much of people so no long lines at the food. It was spacious enough for dinner time and pretty good service(servers continually run around to fill up your water and take out plates) Good: 1. Coconut shrimp — they have several kinds but my favorite was the coconut shrimp, the other kinds of shrimp was okay 2. Shrimp with cheese on top — Heaven :) 3. Scallops 4. Teriyaki chicken Average: 1. Sushi — not too good or bad 2. Green tea ice cream 3. Shumai 4. Stir fried noodles 5. Wontons 6. Green tea ice cream 7. Steak Bad: 1. Leche flan — Pretty bad 2. Crab legs — Tasteless Overall, Most of the food are pretty average and probably would not come back again as 20 $ for food quality like this is pretty expensive.

Went here tonight for dinner! The food was actually really good, the sushi tasted like ready sushi you would buy at Ralph’s, but still edible. The 3 starts aren’t for the food, it’s for the service. So unfriendly and rude! It was my first time here and I was a bit confused. The lady just sat us down and said«what can I get for you to drink» no smile no nothing. Then my boyfriend and I asked for coke. We then asked for an order of Sake as well, but she just ignored us and walked away. Came back with 2 cokes and placed it in front of us and walked away. We were both upset, their service was horrible!

Not so good. I love the options here but every item is mediocre, every item. The best thing I had here was the soft serve ice cream and wow that was good. But I wouldn’t come to a seafood buffet just for ice cream.

Just not good, but it was a birthday party. You can get a good gist of the poor quality by browsing the photos here. It was actually a little worse than expected because some items like the chocolate from the chocolate fountain tasted grosser than they appeared and the service was nearly nonexistent. The staff asked some of my party what we would like to drink, not all of us. Plates continued to sit on our table and there was hardly any attendance until they came again at the end to request payment. I wouldn’t go here again unless it was another birthday party or similar. The food was great in variety and abundance, but poor in quality and taste. There was not one thing I really enjoyed. I have this, «Meh, I’ve had better» because I’ve dined at similar buffets that had lobster, made to order crepes, and noodle soups.

I don’t know what everyone is kvetching about!!! I went at 12:30 today with my best friend. They showed us to our table– I ordered a large hot sake– and we proceeded to the buffet. Perfect timing– the place was not crowded or loud. There was a large variety of food. Salmon and Tuna sushi was pretty good. Enough variety for all oriental food persuasions. For the price– not bad. I enjoyed the crab legs. No one rushed us. I enjoyed more then one sake. I can honestly say I would be back. I won’t be a regular– but once in a while, it’s perfect!

Jesus Christ. How fucking rude can you be? I’m a pretty easy going guy, I mean I’m used to eating at food trucks and street dogs and all that at 2am where it’s like an assembly line and it’s a yes/no answer. Off the bat when I asked how long the wait for a table Is… Response was we close at 9pm. It said 9:30 on the door but whatever I guess I’m wrong for going off what it says on the door. I was then seated. Food was decent except for the fried shrimp… Then they wanted to charge me for leftover cold Shrimp and I told them the food tasted like shit and I’m not gonna be forced to eat something I think could Give me food poisoning. Will never return to this place. So beyond fucking rude and food is subpar… Also their special was 7 dollars extra for that Day for the same thing. This happened a couple weeks ago and finally am posting it, tried to forgive and forget but no.

I’m a fan of their hot Crab legs after I have my first plate at the buffet. They have an assortment of selections seafood and non-seafood too. The food is satisfactory. Good place to take friends and family. Comfortable Casual

Maybe, they don’t have enough exhaust fans to remove stinky odor inside. So, if you go to this restaurant, do not wear anything clean because your clothes will smell shit! Sushi was not fresh and you’re left with few non-fried options.

Stay away from this super cheap and dirty place. Nobody speaks English. Super rude employees and manager. And on top off this ridiculous service, they got this membership reword program which they will not honor. Yoki, the manager is supper ghetto and treats customers like we owe them something. The sushi chef is rude and gets upset if you eat to many sushi items. Ridiculous. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

LOL at the dumb ass people expecting to get good customer service at a discount buffet. You go here cause its cheap decent food and you can stuff crab and scallops down your cheap ass pie hole. Want good customer service?.. go to a restaurant. not a buffet

This was by far the worst buffet I have ever been to. The sesame balls were the only thing that was good. Everything else was crap. The food was over cooked order hard as a rock because it was sitting out forever. I guess you get what you pay for. It was only $ 12.00 per person for lunch during the week. I will never be going to this place again.

The only reason i still go here is because of the price for lunch. It’s $ 11.99 for lunch for pretty much your standard Asian buffet. I think the sushi and the grill is pretty good. I also love the chocolate fountain. These are what I come for. But there’s nothing special about the other parts of the buffet. I was so sad when I found out that the green tea ice cream and the red bean ice cream where taken away(even though it’s been months). They have frozen yogurt now and it is not nearly as good as the ice cream. The service is not that great and I feel like a lot of servers there just hate their jobs.

This place is a good deal if you like sashmi and are looking to chow down on some crab legs or clams. This buffet style restaurant can be a bit overwhelming for those whose eyes are bigger than their stomachs. I recommend pacing yourself and trying small portions of the variety of foods. There’s not just sushi, crab legs, clams and Japanese food here, there’s lots of Chinese food and there’s a make your own hibachi style station and they also have a prime rib station. Overall this place is not bad for a buffet style restaurant, food quality is good and the price is affordable, but it’s no Vegas buffet.

I have to agree with the Unilocalers who say this once fine buffet has gone down hill. My family and I have been coming here for Thanks giving and Christmas for many years and have noticed the decline. The booths are in extreme need of reupholstering. The green tea ice cream has been replaced with a generic frozen yogurt machine. The beautiful chocolate fountain is still there but there isn’t really any suitable fruit to dip in the chocolate. A few good things still exist. The teppan still offers generous portions of steak, chicken and shrimp. The sushi and sashimi are still decent.

Great selection of buffet choices. Japanese sushi is great too. I just miss the green tea ice cream, little bit more expensive that others, but you get the frog legs too. Staff is friendly, clean and great ambience. Lighting is perfect. Recommended if you want to pig out once in a while with the family or friends. I come here maybe twice a year. Try it for those who have not tried it yet. You will not gonna be dissapointed, value is great for the money you pay.

This buffet USETOBE my go to buffet in the valley until two days ago. There was food was not fresh at all! I had their sushi, crab legs, cream cheese wontons and it left my stomach feeling uneasy through the night. By the next day, I had the chills and a fever and I started vomiting! THEIRBUFFETGAVEMEFOODPOISONINGFORTHEVERYTIMEINMYLIFE! I’ve never threw up since I was a kid and I’m 22 years old. I use to come this buffet for almost every special occasion and I’m very disappointed to see that their selections have gone bad and have lack of flavor. I don’t know if it was because I came on a weekday and not a lot of people come on weekdays so I’m assuming they don’t care about the preparation of their food unless it’s the weekend when they have a full house! I’m never coming back…

I went here for Thanksgiving today. They had turkey and it was actually good. The rest of the food — mehhhh. Glorified Panda Express. They have gone downhill. Even the ice cream has been replaced by cheap quality crap. They need to reupholster the booths instead of putting tape on the torn cushions. They seriously need more variety, and that joke of a salad/dessert bar needs a ton of improvement, it doesn’t even look like a salad bar. The lettuce looks dry and unappetizing. I tend to go there about once a year, twice at most. I do like buffets like theirs and the food is edible — I guess there’s enough good stuff for me to keep going back but they could be way better. I do like that this buffet is clean though — that is why I don’t go to many other buffets. UPDATE24 hrs later — after reading some other reviews on here, I discover that I am not alone in my gastrointestinal distress after coming here. I was in bad shape for the whole rest of the day and remnant still lingers today. I don’t think I am going to go back there again. Not until they really get some more variety, but they need to cook the food more thoroughly. I think they use a lot of cheap hormone-based meat, and bad quality produce(they definitely do in the salad bar) and other ingredients. If this were a $ 9.99 buffet, I’d understand. But at $ 20+ per person, I expect more… and *don’t* expect to have g.i. problems. They also need to get rid of those threatening signs saying«Eat what you take, take what you eat, extra charge for uneaten food.» yeah right, if I pay with cash, what are you gonna do about it? Ridiculous! And if you try to charge my card for more than the invoice, I’ll tell my credit card company that the surcharge was a fraud!

I had been coming to this location for years and tonight will probably be the last. Came here to celebrate my grandmothers 90th birthday because she wanted a variety of chinese food. Man what a huge dissapointment it has been. Food used to be good. Service used to be «decent.» What happened to this place? Most likely management not giving a carp and letting their restaurant go to hell. Oh wait this isn’t a restaurant, it’s a frigging buffet. Mongolian grill flavor is bland. Sushi is edible. Rest of the Chinese food is well summed up by another Unilocaler, «take panda express, leave it on top of your car for a day and there you go,» though that is quite insulting to Panda Express. When the check was brought, we were charged the lunch instead of dinner. Maybe it was the staff trying to make up for the bad experience we had. Nope. Just the incompetency of the staff as they corrected it and added another $ 30 for a less than medicore experience. Don’t bother even trying to talk to a manager because there is no manager. Seriously. When asked to speak to someone, it was a unanimous«the manager is not here.» When asked if there was a supervisor, I was looked at as if they did not understand what that meant. So let me guess this straight. You have a restaurant that can seat 200+ people and there is no manager on duty? No wonder this place has gone downhill. But hey its a Monday night and the restaurant already sucks, why bother showing up to work right? Well Hokkaido, you were once an anomaly to Chinese(yeah hokkaido is in Japan I know) buffets by being a place that was great, but now you have fallen into a stereotypical crappy buffet. Congratulations on your metamorphosis as I sincerely hope you can step up your game

Don’t do it! If you’re thinking of going here to pig out on top quality food you are sadly mistaken. Pro’s: plenty of parking in the structure. Plenty of tables. As long as you’re not coming during a holiday then you won’t wait long to be seated. Wide selection of Asian food, desert, chocolate fountain, sushi/sashimi, and grill. Service is good. They’re constantly clearing plates and refilling your drinks. Con’s: food is not very good quality. Don’t think I’ve ever eaten here without experiencing some kind of GI upset the next day. Pricey.

I normally wouldn’t be caught dead in a place like this, but it was free so I went. Food is atrocious. Buy a meal from Panda Express and let it sit open on the roof of your car for a day and a half if you’d like to recreate it. The coup de grâce was the glass of water served to me with a prior patron’s lipstick mark still visible on the rim. I would literally rather eat $ 20 worth of balut than come here again.

Went here today for Mother’s Day Celebrations. It’s been a while since I went to buffet restaurants just because I always get disappointed with most of the past buffet restaurants Ive been. So far, best one’s in Vegas. So I wasnt really expecting much. We parked at the building, it was free. The gate thing on the parking didnt charge us. We went into the building, got in the restau. And I was already impressed with their bar. But so far Ive only seen two people stay here. Then we enter the dining hall, I was expecting it to be packed since its Saturday Mothers Day and all, but It was only about ¾s full and we got seated immediately. Party of 7. I am a fan of everything spicy and seafood. So I went to the salad bar, I got Kimchee, Seaweed Salad, Spicy Squid Salad(Ya I can eat a lot). I also took the mussels that looked half cook(maybe ¼). Well the kimchee tasted funny, but the rest was actually very good. I wasnt expecting that. Then, I went to see the main dishes. They had american food, I didnt get those since it beats the point of going into an asian buffet. I got the noodles(with lemon, Its the best!!), some shrimp and shellfish, crawfish, crab legs, orange chicken, and clams. Crab legs were kind of salty. But again, rest were awesome. I didnt eat breakfast but I was already getting full. But I still went ahead and go to the sushi section. They looked pretty much the same to me. Didnt pay attention to the names, but yeah I took one sample of each. And they all tasted good in different ways. Even the ones with raw fish on top. I didnt get sashimi though. I ate my sushi with ginger and soy sauce and just a wittle bit of wasabi. Again, ive been to lots of buffets that served sushi, this by far is the best. Although, these sushi cant really compare to the good ones of good sushi bars. I was beginning to get full but I had to try the mix your own meat, sides and noodles and have it cooked for you section. I mixed the udon noodles with bean sprouts, jalapeño, some vegetable i dont know the name of, shrimp and steak. Went in line and after fifteen minutes. Waiting in line and watching the chef cook my food for me. I have to say, it was very good! He put teriyaki sauce and the rest is history! Then for dessert(i had to rest for a while), i got their ready made scoop of ice cream, put chocolate from the fountain, got a slice of cheesecake too! And yup. Again very good. So yeah I literally couldnt eat anymore. And I didnt pay for the meal. But my aunt who paid for it definitely got her money’s worth. I wasnt the only one eating so much in our family! Worth the bucks you spend! :)) Maybe its because its mothers day, or whatever, but food here is good! Not the best but worth the money definitely. :)

More like 3.5 stars Came here on Easter Sunday and had a bit of a wait to get a table. Also a good deal at $ 21 a person(tax included) There are a limited selection of dishes here, however there were 2 stand outs. The sashimi was actually decent and the grill had quality sirloin as well as fresh shrimp and chicken. There was fish which was not sampled The rest of the buffet item just up to par with the nearby Asian buffets. Nothing delicious and nothing atrocious. I did not enjoy the hot and sour soup at all however and would not recommend. Definitely a good place to stuff your face at at a good price .!
