El Mariachi

After reading the Unilocal reviews i told my friends we should go somewhere else we took a vote and decided to give it a chance
Well the Unilocal reviews were right
Service– non existent
Food– blah… (I’m Mexican by the way)
The only reason why its getting two stars its because of he micheladas they were very good
But other than that not recommended
Way over priced for average food
And expect to pay tip at 18% its included in your bill even if you had the worst service
And $ 4 for «valet parking» (i parked it myself did not even give the guy my keys)

My wife is Mexican and a chef to boot, so my favorite Mexican restaurant in the city is my kitchen (or my mother in laws).
That being said, my Mexican food bar is set so high that any place I go to gets smoked. I basically give every Mexican restaurants three stars. Is this fair — no. The only restaurants to escape this prejudice is the B.S. franchise.
El Mariachi /​Encino cannot escape this unfair judgement.
This place big. Two maybe three bars, seating in so many rooms it’s like the catacombs in Rome. You will not get claustrophobia here. They make a good marquarita and very good «and your table» guacamole. They have so many flat screen T.V.‘s you could almost call El Mariachi a sports bar. Our service was excellent and we were there on Salsa dancing Thursday and so many people were having so much fun; it was nice.
The food — as good as El Torito, Casa Vega et. al., which means OK. The fact that El Mariachi is a five minute drive from my house, will make it my go to place when I want a #3: An enchilada, taco, rice and beans.
