I went here yesterday morning to catch up with a friend. This small coffee shop had a homey vibe. It was well decorated with fabulous paintings. I had a Carmel macchiato with a bagel with cracked pepper and tomatoes. The service was AMAZING. The prices were fair. Everything my friend and I ate there was great. I will definitely be back!

Java hut is great. My mom and her friends come here every Friday for a coffee and a bagel. It is very affordable and high quality as well. I was very pleased to order a latte that was less than $ 3. All of the locals come here and it is the perfect spot to be. Just walking distance from Swammis beach! Stop in :)

Had the blue lotus chai-a great place to soak in the feel of Encinitas(Hippy, yogi, spiritual). Wide selection of teas which is great since most coffee spots fall short in that department.

Great location. My almond milk coffee(for me) was awful. I may just not like the type of almond milk used. It had an awful after taste. I appreciate the organic, paleo & gluten free items.

The ladies here are super cool and very accommodating. Holly filled not only my dogs water dish but, gladly filled the gallon container I had with me for my dog Buddy. Anita specially made me a large blended Chai Bomb that’s not on the menu. She even gave me the extra in a separate cup with a smile I must say that’s customer service! They also showed a lot of interest in my dog Buddy and gave him cookies from their stash of dog treats. I’ll be back for sure!

Even the patrons said hi when I walked in. The muffin had a funny name and tasted amazing! It had ginger, dates and all these other healthy ingredients. Paired with a cup of coffee– a perfect breakfast! How can you not love a place called Surf Dog’s Java Hut!

This cozy, real, fantastic little place is a holdout of real SoCal surf culture. Not the manufactured, BS, phony surf culture served up by 95% of what’s left in San Diego County — but the GD real thing. The snacky food and smoothies here are awesome and every time I get my little plastic monkey on a juice’s rim, I know I am a little bit closer to life as it’s meant to be lived. I always get a Swami’s Smoothy, named after the break and P. Yogananda. I recommend it! There is a really cool small area to sit out back which is easy to miss. Check it out. This is one of those places that needs to be kept special. You can also buy board wax from a little box for the cheapest price in town.

I’ve been here a few times and each time I’m pleased with my experience. The employees are really friendly and helpful. There are a few tables inside, some out front, and a few on the side too. It’s got a chill beachy vibe that goes with the Encinitas beach town. Out front they have a bowl of water for dogs which is awesome. Super cute place. Delicious coffee and tea. Recommend over some of the chain coffee places.

I think I passed zillion times by this coffee shop but was never interested to enter, for some unknown reason. This Valentines Day, I was meeting the 2 first girlfriends I met in my new American life when I moved from Spain. So we ended up celebrating our 15 years of friendship having some coffee and sodas at the Surfdog’s Java Hut because we did not really agree where to go plus everywhere seemed packed, plus it was just the first spot we saw. So we were all surprised to realize it is a very cute place with an awesome and relaxing patio all painted in «Greek island style» colors, with the most charming plants in colorful pots, and that strawberry mini table that served a perfect temporary container for our gifts exchange. It is a good vibe place. Outside, at the street level, you will find many cyclists having a coffee break(I even coincidentally met a couple of ex colleagues) and the interior is also very attractive painted very tropical. I liked a lot the atmosphere and the service and it served perfectly our purpose of re encounter without interference or noise. Coffee was good too.

I very glad they were open on Thanksgiving morning as I took a drive up the coast of North County San Diego. I stopped in for not only some eye opening caffeine but a small snack to munch on as well. That being said, I ordered their house brewed iced coffee and a toasted wheat bagel with cream cheese, sliced tomatoes, and some freshly cracked black pepper( ). Although the coffee was not cold brew, it was quite good and retained its robust flavor, smoothness, and did not become bitter. It tasted great. The bagel combination with the fresh tomatoes, thick layer of cream cheese, and excellent generous dosing of crack pepper was just grand( ). The wheat bagel had a generous toast which provided a great crunch. The bagel was comforting and hit the spot for the morning. They offer free WiFi and have seating in front, inside, and along the side and back of the premises. I like the down to earth personalities the two ladies had and their ability to work under pressure of the crowds.

Definitely one of the best kept secrets in Encinitas! Surfdog’s Java Hut seriously has the cutest outdoor seating area in the back. It feels like a super cozy, inviting and charming backyard. Great place to bring your dog along, read a book, hang out with family or friends, and enjoy awesome drinks and food. The Chai Bomb is so good! So are the bagel sandwiches, and they have lots of different options on the menu. I tried the bagel with hummus, tomato and cracked pepper. I thought it was simple, but still delicious. My favorite thing about this place is the relaxed and comfortable vibe, for sure. It really looks unassuming from the outside, but I’m so glad that I finally stopped in to check it out. Bring cash when you go here.

If you were to picture a beachside coffeehouse that’s exactly what you’d get coming here. Looks like you’re stepping into a hut, complete with island and surfing motif and the atmosphere? Yep, that’s laid-back too. No laptops in sight. The furniture is a collection of mis-matched chairs and such. The only thing missing might just be the sound of waves. I was passing through Encinitas on my way to Del Mar and stopped in for some coffee. Instead I had the CHAIBOMB(came in a tall mug and it was very good) and one of their popular smoothies, the SWAMI(mango, peach, banana and mango juice). Surfdog is dog-friendly too! Your furry friend can hang out inside or out back(not a huge area). The staff will even bring around biscuit treats.
