Jelly donuts for Hanukkah is a must. My mom always had them when I was a kid and who am I to deny my kids the same experience, right?! Being in Encinitas already, this gave me the opportunity to try out Super Donut 2. I had it bookmarked for months. It had rave reviews… win-win, right? Sadly, no. We walked in wanting 6 donuts. There were two people in the store. One person had a phone stapled to her ear and the other did not speak English. In both cases, asking questions is hard. We asked if they had jelly donuts… they said no, but they had two in the display case. We ordered those. Then, we started ordering 4 more donuts… one chocolate with chocolate sprinkles, one chocolate with coconut flakes… and by this time, I knew it was impossibly to communicate. The poor worker just smiled and blinked every time we asked something because she couldn’t tell me how many donuts we had ordered by now… and the other worker(who spoke English) wasn’t getting off the phone to help We added two cartons of milk to our order, paid, and left. The total was 8 dollars and change. I had to go back in because one of the donuts we ordered was not in there…(and heck, when I make a promise to my kiddo… i have to keep it). So, back in I go. The woman was still on the phone. realizing something was wrong… quickly handing me the donut I requested, all smiles and friendly… but never got off the phone. Our box consisted of a ton of stuff we didn’t order. Donut holes, a fritter, some other donuts, and 2 of the jelly donuts they said they didn’t have. The donuts are good… that’s what earned them two stars. I won’t be back though… I’ll stick with Peterson’s in Escondido.

Sarah is the lady behind the counter that makes magic! She has great donuts and dare I say better than VGs. She is always smiling and tossing in a few extras. Someday’s she’ll put a few donut holes in the bag and others a apple bear claw! The donuts themselves look like a standard donut until you bite into one. They are fresh and perfectly sweet. My favorite is the crueler. It is sublime and an altogether different kind of donut. It’s so dang moist inside(different type of dough recipe). I can easily wolf down 3 of them. Insane. Word of warning: Sarah is a pusher like any other drug peddler! After you have made your selection she will try to have you buy more by saying«That’s all?!» Or an «And Then?!» All kidding aside. She is great.

I agree with the comments about the wonderful owner! She is sooo generous. It was an unplanned thing to get my boss donuts and I stumbled across this one. I got 2 boxes with a dozen each, but she had added more to it. My coworkers were laughing because when they opened the boxes, it was overflowing with donuts… one practically flew out. And the donuts were sooo delicious!

We have been going to this local donut shop for years! First my husband and I started going every Sunday for morning coffee and almond rolls. The donuts are always fresh and light, not oily and heavy. We began taking each grandchild when they came to visit and it has become a ritual. Our oldest granddaughter is now 22yo & started flying down for visits when she was 8years old. She said whenever she comes to visit us, even now, Super Donut 2 is a «must». Over the years, it became a tradition! Today, we just took our 2−½yo grandson for his first donut ever and he chose the chocolate cake donut with sprinkles. Now all of the grandkids have been to Super Donut 2. The owner, Sarah, is so kind and friendly. She remembers our grandkids even though they live out-of-town and she always adds complimentary donut holes to their donut order. We’re fortunate to have a local donut shop with the same awesome owner making families happy with their fresh donuts and friendly welcome.

I can’t personally consume donuts but my kids and husband love the donuts and place is always busy with people coming in and out with quick service so I deduce donuts are great. What I like about this place which makes me come back every time is how friendly and pleasant the lady behind the counter is. She always welcomes you with a smile and seems to know her regulars by name. I usually go in with my toddler and every time she gives him free donut holes to munch on at the store and gets him really excited. They also serve coffee and have few seats and tables if you want eat your donuts there. The only accept cash.

The owner lady is awesome. She’s super nice and very generous. It’s cash only. I had the kids with me and had the doughnuts already picked out, handed her my ATM card and she handed it back«sorry cash only, you owe me». I was in shock, I wasn’t a regular and she just told me to pay her next time. Regardless I went directly to the ATM and returned with the cash but the gesture is something no one in this town would ever do. The bonus was when we opened up the box of doughnuts she had added a bunch of doughnut holes and a couple extra doughnuts. Now Super Doughnut #2 is our go to doughnut shop. As far as flavor of her cooking goes. It’s very on par and fresh with what a doughnut should be. Not as sweet as VG’s(sometimes too sweet) but not bland at all, just good.

Wow… Another hidden gem of North County. Most people are going to sing praises for VG’s donuts in Encinitas, but Super Donut#2 is outstanding!!! Sarah, is the friendly dutiful shop owner, who is pleasant and helpful. If you happen to arrive weary of what your choices should be– she will surely remedy that. If you’re choosing a boxed dozen she will ask you the demographic you’re seeking to woo with the sugary treats. If you’re taking the donuts to a school she’ll prepare a beautiful mix of sprinkled and smiley faced treats. If they’re for a more sophisticated crowd she’ll populate the pink box with a balanced selection of maple bars, glazed donuts and the iconic apple fritters. And, if you happen to be creative and can’t find the right treat you can ask her to add Bavarian cream, pudding or jelly filling to any of the donuts and she will happily do so. This place is exactly how a donut shop proper should be! Small and clean, parents guiding their kids in by the hand to pick out an early morning, weekend treat and not breaking the bank while doing so. I walked away with an AMAZING looking maple bar– with an entire strip of perfect bacon, a toasted coconut bar and chocolate bar which she added Bavarian cream to and a handful of donut holes and it totaled to $ 6.50!!!(NOTE: this place is cash only). Thank you, Sarah, Super Donuts #2– keeping donut shops the way they should be.

I love Super Donut because of the owner. She delivers the kind of warm personal service that more small local businesses should emulate. Every time, I feel the love. I walk out the door feeling like I’ve just visited with my favorite auntie. The donuts are good. They make my favorite apple fritters in the area. The coffee is always hot and strong. They get all the fundamentals right. I wish my doctor was as encouraging about donuts as he is broccoli…

Fresh baked no doubt … But no my favorite by a mile… As far as glazed donuts go… Yum Yum, Ralph’s and Vons all have better by far. Just not a fan of the entire lineup of donuts here… IMHO should not be called super donut but maybe … Donut.

Little donut place had exactly what I needed for my donut craving. $ 2.50 for the big cream cheese croissant and 5 glazed donut holes. Ain’t that great! Wasn’t too sweet, just right. The owner was so friendly, glad I found this place. But then when I looked in the bag there must have been more than a dozen donut holes there. Super generous owner. I will definitely go back

The owner is really friendly and whenever I come in she has a very chipper attitude for so early in the morning which I love! :) the donuts are good and my kids love them because they always has a clever little creation ex: Cookie Monster sprinkled donuts. Every time I get home and open my box I realize she’s thrown in a little extra which is super cool:)) It’s cash only people so come prepared!

Due to my doughnut cravings(and my refusal to go to VG’s) I was in search of another doughnut shop in Encinitas. This little hole-in-the-wall fit the bill! Located in the shopping center with TJ Maxx(which I frequent quite a bit), this little place is tucked away on the side. Locals seem to know about it. The lady who works here is extremely friendly. I got two doughnuts. The total was $ 2.75 and I only had $ 2 on me. The lady said no problem, just get me next time. I walked out to happy people are still forgiving, stick my hand in the bag and find 7 doughnut holes extra! What a nice lady!!! Just because of her generosity, I will make this my new doughnut places. And also the doughnuts are pretty awesome!

Great donuts! Lately I’ve been having a hard time finding a good donut spot but this place is delicious. The lady working was also very friendly. I will definitely be back again! P. S. it’s kinda hidden though I drove past it the first time because its not right on the main road you have to turn into the plaza and then you will see it.

The woman that works in there is such a homie. She always hooks it up with donut holes and is just a chill lady overall. There’s a cool koi fish in an aquarium too, so you can scope that out while you eat your tasty donuts too :)

This place is kind of hidden you can’t see it from the main street. It’s in the same parking lot as the Dollar tree. What i love most about these donuts besides being fresh and delicious is that they aren’t too sweet! The owner lady working was super sweet… when we got home and opened up the box of goodies we noticed she gave us some extra! We can’t wait to come back :)
