I couldn’t ask for a better place to live than here at Pacific Crest Apartments. The location is absolutely incredible, walking distance to the 101. We have a one of a kind pool area with a a breathtaking ocean view. Our landlord is so helpful and always makes sure this place is in top-notch condition. Everyone in the complex is friendly and I always feel safe here. I am so grateful to be living here! Anyone would be lucky to rent a apartment at Pacific Crest.

These are amazing apartments. They have an amazing view, with a pool overlooking the ocean. You would think that would be the best part — but it gets better. The place is a tiny community within itself. Everyone who lives at the crest treats each other as family. It is an amazing gem that I was lucky to find.

Great spot if you enjoy sunsets, falling asleep to the sound of the waves, and good neighbors. If you do not enjoy those things, well… maybe it’s time to re-evaluate those life choices.

About two years ago(God, I hope that’s right — I’ll find out soon) I was lucky enough to meet an incredible girl who lived at Pacific Crest. A short time after that, my living situation had changed and we agreed that I could move in. Life has been awesome since. «The Crest,» as it’s known by its residents, is an excellent place to live. My other half has been here now for over five years and admitted to seeing change during that time so I can’t comment on the previous«Mexican resort» review but I can say it’s nowhere near that now. I think part of that had to do with the owner actually moving in to the complex, cutting out the management that was, and being a bit more selective about who lives here. That said, this is definitely no longer a Pacific Beach kind of place and the majority of us like it that way. While there is the occasional respectful party and plenty of getting together with neighbors, it’s not the«resort» it once may have been. Maintenance requests, when you do have them, are dealt with quickly and professionally as management is above expectations compared to my previous landlords. Without ruining the surprise, every year management even tries to get us all together for a night and we chill, relax, listen to great music and enjoy our lives here. Where else do you get that? You may get a newsletter somewhere else saying there’s a get together planned for the residents but trust me, this is no community picnic with an iPod and hot dogs. Back to the point though, nearly all of the places I’ve been in here are nice. The ones that aren’t weren’t because of huge cracks in the wall or Mariachi bands playing, they’re just messy due to the owner. Management has really done a great job with repairing the place throughout the years and it shows. Sure, there are minor cracks in the foundation at some spots but you’re living right on the edge of the ocean. Literally. Walk to the pool area and you’re surrounded by a glass wall overlooking great surf, occasional dolphins and even a rare whale jumping out of the water while your friends and family are there. It makes you feel in top of the world. With the view, you kind of are. The apartments are spacious and two couples living in the same place is a bit cramped but that applies everywhere. A dog park/grassy area is within immediate walking distance and pets are allowed with deposit. Water pressure, even being one of the furthest units away from it, is never really lacking. Hot water is delivered when you need it, which is a nice change from the norm. The appliances vary from unit to unit but they all work when they’re there. If not, a simple text or call and it gets sorted within a few business days, if not immediately. Management is very respectful of your space. They will not impose on your life unless you’re causing discomfort for others, in which case the tight knit family here will more than likely say something to you before it goes to that stage anyway. We don’t plan on moving any time soon as it’s a great spot to be in. One bit of advice though: If you manage to be able to move in here, come out to the pool and meet the neighbors. I kept to myself for quite a time due to my training but am slowly opening up and enjoying spending time with the variety of people here. It’s truly a great place to live.

The buildings at the Pacific Crest are a pretty beat up, but where else around here can you sit in your bluff-top pool overlooking the Pacific for a reasonable price? Nowhere, that’s where. It’s like your own little Mexican resort. Management is reasonable, and the residents get along well enough that you’ll see packs of them out in the water or at the bar. Nice that people tend to look out for one another. Overall, it’s a great place to call home.
