Food was average at best. We ordered hibachi chicken($ 21) and some sushi. They have a huge sign out front saying 50% off sushi, when we got our bill we were charged full price for sushi. We were told that the sushi is only 50% off if we sat at the sushi bar and not at the grill, however you couldn’t order hibachi at the sushi bar. Food was far too expensive, we should have taken note that we were the only ones in the restaurant when we walked in at 7pm. I would not eat here again.

We loved this place! Stopped here when my father was in town and ate at the teppanyaki table. Food was wonderful, my 6 year old couldn’t eat enough! Service was great and the restaurant itself is incredibly charming with paper cranes everywhere! Would definitely come back here when we are in the area.

We love bringing clients and staff here for lunch. The food is great and the chef is entertaining.

Not a bad set up and we were quickly seated(We tried another hibachi place but it was hoity-toity enough that we needed reservations). The name has changed to Suyaki. Our chef was a cut up(no pun intended) — an absolute riot. This was probably the best hibachi show I have seen in a very long time. The food was well prepared, and very delicious. The staff kept our glasses full. Unfortunately they do not have their liquor license yet. They are still waiting for it. I am not in this area very often, but I will be back the next time I am in town!

This place has changed names to Suyaki. Very confusing — they could have told us when I called to make a reservation. And also told us that they don’t have their liquor license yet :(

My family and I love this place! We always have a good time and amazing food! Even thought he ownership has changed this is our #1 Teppan place in the area. We have been there during happy hour and late at night almost before closing and still received the great service and food. This is much better than Benihana and there is no real need to get reservation unless you need more than one grill.

Made a 6:30 reservation for my husbands birthday. Wasn’t seated until 7:30 and the chef didn’t show up until 8:15. We were so hungry(and cranky) by the time the chef showed up we weren’t really into the show. He tried and the food was good(better than Benihana and other teppan places) so 2 stars for that. Probably won’t be back though.

They are now Suyaki. The ownership has changed but the management has not. The old Manager is now a partner. Same fun teppan tables, and great sushi chefs. Try Alan at the bar. He is happy, fun and knows how to whip up something special. This place is full of nice people. Great for groups, birthdays and occasions. Tons of parking. They also have a new and cheap Happy Hour. I hate using that term but it is. Great sushi and food specials as well as drinks! I have been taking my son here since he was baby. They are tolerant and helpful with the little ones and go out of their way to make you feel welcome!

I have eaten at miyabis several times(most often for the kids birthdays which is such a great festive way to make a birthday special). We love the food here. The standard fare off the grill prepared in front of you with humor and challenges to catch the flying shrimp is delicious all around and so much fun to boot! It’s always pricey but worth it as an occasional treat. This last visit however showed some serious lack of management. We walked in without a reservation for our sons birthday and was told it would be about 15 minutes. We sat in the lounge area for 30 minutes and finally we’re told we were next. Then another group of 4 went before us. We were starving and tried to get a bowl of edamame beans which after an hour of waiting still hadn’t arrived. I’ve worked in the restaurant business as a waitress and know how difficult it can be to manage rushes but I’m used to management actually doing something to compensate. There was nothing. We finally got our chef after a 90 minute wait. Terrible disappointing experience. It will be awhile before we try it again.

Grand reopening. Miyabi is now Suyaki. Under new ownership from the original folks that made it great. Fantastic food and service back again with improvements. Check out their new Unilocal spot.

I used to come here all the time and it seems like it really has gone downhill(there’s new management). We sat at sushi bar and the sushi chef wouldn’t even hand us our food personally or take our order yet we saw him do it to other people, and it seems as if the selection of sushi has gotten slimmer as well. We ended up ordering steak from the kitchen to our sushi bar which was alright, mostly vegetables and a few pieces of meat. We went because our regular sushi spot was closed for the night my wife and I remembered this spot as being a good place to eat and it was a close drive but we won’t be returning soon sorry Miyabi you’re not matching up to Benihana!

The food and the service is no Benihana. But I knew it before going there. I went with 20 people for a birthday party. When the bills were given it showed that a 18% had been added and a place for extra tip. I chose not to tip any extra and signed my bill for the amount given(tip already included) three days later as I checked my bank account. I noticed that the amount had been increased by an extra 20%. With the copy of my bill in hand I called the restaurant but they were closed. I try to send an email thru their website, but every time I press the send key I would get an err message. Unable to send the email I finally called the restaurant and they told me that the email on their website had not been set up yet. Still waiting on the call back from the manager. My conclusion is that the waitress added the tip on my bill because I left that part blank. In the future I will cross the part that says extra tip… yet very dishonest. If she did this to me because I was in such a large party and counted on me not noticing she certainly does to other people and management will find out sooner or later.

I like it better than the other cook in front of you place(their sauces and sushi is awesome) but personally I am not a huge fan of the whole cook in front of you thing. But it’s fun and my kids favorite place to go to. Food is good and the atmosphere is good, service is good and it is a must do at least once in your life!

I came in here by accident. The place I wanted to go to was closed so this was the next closest thing. Now this review is just for the bar/restaurant not for the show.(Benihana style) because that’s where we went and didn’t experience the dinner show. The waitress we had was very attentive almost a little too much but she did a great job! No drinks ever went dry and she made sure we had everything we needed. She was very pleasant and smiled the whole time we were there. The food on the other hand was just ok at best. I had a couple of the sushi rolls and while they seemed fresh and they looked nice they were bland and kind of flavorless. It was by no means Gas Station Sushi but I’m in no hurry to eat it again. The date had the teriyaki steak and it comes with veggies, rice, soup and a salad. The salad was pretty generic but the soup wasn’t bad at all. The steak itself was thin and overcooked and while it had teriyaki flavor it just wasn’t very good in my opinion. All in all I think it’s quite expensive for what you get and the food is not that great. I wouldn’t return when they’re way too many other Asian places to eat with better food that are closer to home. Swing and a miss. :(

Was thrilled to know that I could have gluten free hibachi using GF soy sauce :) yayyy I got the shrimp & steak with fried rice & it def could have used more flavor, but their sauce was amazing & saved it. I guess they think GF is flavorless, a little garlic would have went a long way. Overall the food was not bad & the service was great. Can’t wait to go back & try the sushi :)

In town and was in the mood for Japanese food. Unilocaled this place and decided to take a shot. We were seated right away and the waiter was very attentive. We started out with drinks. Blue Hawaiian was the best! The cook was very friendly and fast preparing our meal. The chicken fried rice was so good! Well everything was good. I highly recommend this place and would so come back@

Super cool spot! I went here for the first time the other night with my boyfriend. We got there at 9:00 and they still sat & served us. Since it was just the two of us we decided to sit at the sushi bar, but we could have sat in the grill area if we wanted to. The food we got was very good, and all the sushi was made right in front of us, like any sushi bar. We got some Spicy Salmon hand rolls, California Roll, Spicy salmon roll, and a seaweed salad. We also ordered some chicken skewers which were very good as well. Service was good. They have an alright beer selection(I got a Sculpin IPA). My favorite part about the whole place, besides the food of course, was the feng shui layout of the restaurant. The place is very spacious and comfortable. The Sushi bar, regular bar, and grill section were all separate.

We came here for the first time this past week. Some friends invited us to help celebrate their wedding anniversary. Four adults and four kids. We sat at the teppanyaki table. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. Usually right in front of you. I have been to teppanyaki several times before, at different places, and it’s been hit or miss. Aside form from the table side show the food was always meh, and/or I walked away hungry. With that said, I liked Miyabi. The food was flavorful and plentiful. The sushi was at par also, fresh. After reading some reviews I had to try the sushi burrito. Spicy tuna, crab, shrimp tempura and other stuff I can’t remember rolled up in soy paper to look more like a really fat joint than a burrito. Sounds cheesy but that made me want to try it more. To all the sushi snobs, it wasn’t your perfectly sliced, just out of the ocean fresh, premium sashimi, but this fat kid tore it up! With a side of spicy mayo, it didn’t stand a chance. The chef and the show is always fun. The kids loved it! Word to the wise. Common sense would probably tell you that little kids sitting at eye level with the grill are at more at risk to get something splashed in their face. My boy got a stray splatter of something right in his eye. After a little crying, we washed his eye out with some water and he was fine. I don’t blame the place though and I didn’t base this review on that at all. You might want to warn parents still, ’cause some people out there aren’t as understandable as we are. We had reservations for 5:45 — the night before Thanksgiving. It was dead when we got there but half the place filled up quick. Although there are a lot of teppanyaki tables, I recommend making reservations. Food was a bit pricey for a family of four. Realistically, I only ever sit at the teppanyaki table on special occasions. Birthdays, anniversary or a celebration of some sort. It’s fun and kids really like the fire! I gave them a 3 rating ’cause 3 is A-OK. It was fun, a little pricey, and a little bit campy, but the kids really had a blast. If you’ve been to one you’ve been to ‘em all. I’d be back for sushi! I wanna have another sushi joint er… burrito and check other menu items, like the oyster shooters! Hit up that full bar… I wonder if they have a happy hour? Oyster shooters at the bar sound boss!

Great place to bring the family or friends! Love sitting around the grill style sitting! I ordered the filet and shrimp, with the fried rice(extra for fried rice) It would be nice to included the fried rice with the meal. Chiefs give a great show!
