Jeanine Fontenot. The best hairdresser ever. Her coloring is awesome (I go blonde) and her blow outs will make you look like a porn star (in a good way).

I highly recommend Maravilla and Maravilla’s. She was recommended to me when I moved to Encinitas a little over a year ago. I have been getting great hair cuts from her ever since. I am writing this review now as I decided to become a red head. Maravilla not only did a great job but she was super patient and helpful as I decided exactly what red I wanted. She coached me through the whole process. We selected a color that looks great on me. She custom mixed multiple red tones for a dimensional, awesome effect. My hair looks and feels great. The other good thing about Maravilla is how friendly and easy going she is and the whole salon. You won’t be sorry.

Even though they were nearly full, they were able to squeeze me into their schedule. Augie gave me a wonderful haircut and was incredibly friendly.

I’ve been going to Maravilla for about a year, since we moved to North County. I was lucky to have another gifted stylist where I used to go in Normal Heights, but the commute was too far, so I found Maravilla on Unilocal.I got very lucky! It’s a fun salon with a really cool and friendly vibe. She is an exceptional stylist and is able to work with my naturally curly/​wavy/​frizzy hair, to make it look presentable. That’s a feat and a half! Word on the street is they’ve got a new stylist on board. If she’s as good as the others (I’ve been creepily watching the other stylists creating masterpieces like Maravilla’s), you’ll be wise to try her out and find out why they all book up way in advance :) :)

I love Augie. She has done my cut and highlights for 8 years now and keeps me looking beautiful and current. She is up on new styles, cuts, colors. She has also surprised and delighted my referrals. If you’re done with the rest, try the best.

I have been going to Maravilla’s Hair Studio for over 4 years now! My hair has turned an 180 since I met Jeanine! I cannot believe how much my hair has grown, strengthened itself and amazed people with thinking my hair is completely natural! The whole staff is AMAZZZING, the energy in there is so fun and friendly! I recommend this salon to everyone! Btw Maravilla Rocks at doing hair too ;)

I love Maravilla’s Hair Studio! Maravilla has been doing my hair since the early 90’s and I’ve followed her from various salons to her opening her own hair studio! She has always does a great job on my cuts and color. I’ve had many changes through the years and she always has great ideas or can do exactly what I’m requesting! She’s very talented stylist and savvy business owner. Maravilla recently styled my hair along with my bridesmaids at my November ’11 wedding! She did an absolutely fabulous job. We all loved our hair and it was lots of fun too! If you are looking for a creative hair studio that makes you feel like a million bucks when you come out, check out Maravilla’s Hair Studio in Encinitas. She and her stylists are FABULOUS and the salon is a fun place to be while getting beautiful!

I love love love Maravilla’s. My stylist is Jeanine and I have been going to her since I was about 18. Which for the record was just three years ago (cough, cough, shift in seat, cough). I have referred several people to her and no one has ever been disappointed. This is a bold statement considering one of the people I referred is my Mom who is not known for her easy going nature. She freaking loves Jeanine! Not only is she a great stylist, but the prices are totally reasonable and you will not be in there for five hours getting highlights. Plus, if Jeanine doesn’t have your sides hurting from laughter than no one else will.
I have also had the pleasure of having Maravilla, Juliane & Keeley work on my hair when Jeanine was unavailable. NEVER had a less than stellar experience.

I have been going to my stylist, Jeanine for well over 10 years. She listens to everything you say. if you say just a trim, she doens’t cut off all your hair like other stylists I have been to in the past. Best hair cuts and color EVER! I have referred many friends to her and they are now loyal clients as well. I highly recommend! The salon is intimate with a great, caring & talented staff.

Maravilla has been cutting my hair since 1991. She does great work, is always a pleasure to talk to, and she has a great team of stylists. She also cuts my wife’s hair, and she does a wonderful job on her as well.
I actually look forward to my haircuts, which for me is saying a lot!

My stylist Juliane is the best. I always leave happy and satisfied with my haircut. She is precise and always makes you feel comfortable. I referred my Mom and she loves her. The atmosphere is awesome you are offered a beverage when you walk in and the rest of the stylists make you feel at home right away. The place is a little hard to find the first time but it is in the lot where Taco-​Bell is on the opposite corner.
Overall great place for a hair cut.
Ohh. Juliane washes your hair before she cuts and after. This is nice because you can go about your day without being itchy…

Maravilla has been cutting my hair for over 10 years. As a Paul Mitchell trainer, I trust her completely. She knows how to cut my hair (curly, thick and generally unruly). She has followed me through my red stage, to my blond stage, to my dark with highlights stage and back to red and has never steered me wrong. I can’t praise her work enough and have referred many happy clients to her throughout the years.

Damn, Nikki beat me to it! So I’m the sis’- in-​law and I have been going to Maravilla since I was 11 years old. My mom had been going to her for about about a year or two before I met her, but one day my school schedule collided and my mom had to rush with me to her hair appointment.
My hair is thick and straight, like my mom’s and it has this very unique natural color (reddish brown with blonde highlights) that Maravilla swears she’s never seen on anyone and can never produce any dye match to it. She loved my hair so much (has told me she’ll kill me if I ever let anyone dye it, even herself) that she begged my mom to let her cut it for some ridiculously low price and ever since then I have gone devotedly to Maravilla.
Over the last 13 years I have learned to let Maravilla just HAVE FUN with my hair. This is when she is at her best. Just tell her the length and if you want any layers and bangs and let her have at it. She’s taken me from mid-​back length to ear-​length and back down to shoulder and I can tell you my hair has never once looked bad. She’ll fix anything you don’t like a week later too!
Maravilla has been cutting hair for over 25 years. She’s a Paul Mitchell teacher, which means she’s always getting the latest technology and hair trends ideas in her salon door. She specializes in color, short and curly hair (which she herself has).
I’m not sure as to whether or not these girls still work there — Kiki is great with crazy haircuts and color –she’s absolutely wild! Jeanine does fabulous up-​does (she did my hair twice in highschool for prom and homecoming).
We followed Maravilla from her original salon-​slaving days at a major branch to her own private business. The parking lot is deceiving, but Maravilla and her girls are amazing!!! Now that I’ve left Santa Barbara, I can’t zip down to SD for the weekend to see her. I wish I didn’t live 9 hours away, but anytime I come home I plan appointments to see her. And, of course, my mom still sees her. She’s booked constantly-she’s that good– so make sure you call at least a month in advance.

My husband got a pretty decent haircut here at a great price by a younger stylist. Nothing super fancy. Maravilla herself used to cut my hair in high school and she was GREAT at coming up with really unique cuts involving layers. She cuts my sister-in-law’s hair to this day and she’s always getting compliments, i’d definitely get in to see her if you can!
P. S. Maravilla has a lot of experience and has worked in posh salons before opening her own. Support a local business! And don’t diss on the fact that it’s in one of those strip malls, that us Nor cal people are so judgemental against.
