This is a decent dog fair. Cardiff is a cute little beach town, probably the only one in North County I can tolerate. The best reason to come here is to adopt a pet! I was working the Open Arms Rescue booth and we did seven adoptions! It was a great day for us! The event had more non-pet-related vendors than pet-related vendors. I saw cleaning products, jewelry, candles, clothes, non-profit organizations, etc. Of course, you had a handful of pet clothes, leashes, food, etc., but nothing that seemed worth buying. All the prices were so inflated. Parking will be a challenge. Be prepared to walk far or circle the residential neighborhood for 20 minutes. I got there at 10:30 and I didn’t find parking until 11 a.m. I am sure it gets easier as the day goes on because people come and go. I got there right after it opened, so no one was leaving yet. If you want to find your new best friend, come here for the adoptions!

Our first year in attendance & will not be our last year. Although the crowd was huge and the passageway was small, this did not deter us from strolling past each and every booth that was there. Everybody did pay attention to ensure that nobody stepped on anybody’s dog, including our 7 lb., «Sophie.» There was an on-site vet there who took his time to answer each and every owner’s dog’s health question. We will definitely be there for the up n coming future«Cardiff Dog Days of Summer!» Thanks for being there for all of us Dog Lovers!

My husband and I attended this event last year with our two boxers and loved it! But this year I have to say wasn’t as great. I believe it was a little bigger this year. What I didn’t care for was all the food vendors and vendors that were just there to sell people items, like the one selling jewelry or the guy trying to sell home renovations! Really?!? This is an event for dogs and that’s specifically why we went! The other thing I didn’t care for was some of the people working the vendor booths. A lot of the people weren’t very engaging and would sit there and ignore you or just make it plain awkward just staring at you while the browse their selection. Say hello, ask if you can help me, and make conversation! That’s just good business! Not sure if I will go next year:/ Last year I’d have given 5 stars. Oh and one more thing they didn’t even bother to to sell any dog days of summer shirts for the event, which last year they did and ran out before I could buy one and I was looking forward to buying one this year:(I’m generally am too lazy to make review but I do like to read other’s reviews before I go some place or buy something but I really felt this review had to be written to make it better for next year.

This is the second year we have attended this dog fair. It’s really big and has a ton of vendors to meet with and ask questions. It’s your typical fair, you can buy things that you may not be able to find in a petstore. Positives: big tons of give a ways LOT’S of other dogs to meet and photograph MANY holistic vendors Negatives: parking is a real bi*** it gets really hot not enough cooling stations for the dogs food area is on blacktop and is horrific for the dogs to be on in the heat so we never eat there.

So many booths!!! They lined the streets with astro turf so it’s not too hot on the doggies paws-very cool. Lot’s of free cat and dog food samples!!! Great day to be out and about with so many dogs to see and many pet paraphernalia, plus food and drink for people.

We love going to festivals and I gotta say, this one was right up there as one of the best we’ve attended! With our«grandson» in tow , we took a road trip to the lovely community of Cardiff By The Sea for their annual Dog Days of Summer festival. We caught the free shuttle(bus, really) at the City Hall parking lot. It’s pretty fun to ride a bus with all the dogs and their people. This ride was appreciated because parking was limited in the venue area. We were dropped off and picked up right there. Very short wait too since the bus came every 15 minutes. Tip– Come early to ensure a parking space & a short wait for the bus. Lots of vendors(mostly dog products & services). We received some really great freebies! Lots of food samples, gadgets & info pamphlets. Checked in to the Unilocal booth & met the very nice San Diego CM Trish. Check out the awesome«Original Unilocaler» bandana we brought home for our Weezer. Some contests(Cutest puppy, Ugliest, Best Dressed, Best Kisser, etc. Um, best kisser!!!) We missed out on the Blessing of the Dogs by the Tibetan Buddhist monks. Plenty of food options in their food court area and nearby restaurants. What made this festival extra enjoyable was the friendliness of all the people there! We were having conversations left and right and the pup was being a social butterfly. This was a great opportunity for the pup to learn socialization skills. I especially loved seeing all the different breeds, big and small. Coolest dog in the crowd– Well organized & fun! Thank you, Cardiff!!!
