I’ve been dying to take my husband here because I first tried Bull Taco’s amazing burritos while camping at San Elijo in Cardiff. We decided to go to the San Elijo location first even though it was 10 minutes further because this location had poor ratings. When we arrived in San Elijo, they were temporarily closed due to construction. We then drove another 15 minutes to the this location and took the chance since we were already in the area. When we first got there, there was only one party ahead of us in line, but it took SO long to order. There was only one guy working and he seemed overwhelmed. We overheard someone from the kitchen come over to tell him that they were out of carne asada. We asked the cashier if we heard right and he confirmed. We really wanted to order one Surf & Turf Burrito and one California Burrito but changed our mind to shrimp burritos since they ran out of carne asada. We ordered and sat down. Then the party behind us ordered a Surf & Turf burrito no problem. My husband went and asked him, «I thought you were out of carne asada?» Then he said, «Oh, no, we have some now» We were so confused! Why would they 86 carne asada for 5 minutes? So we had to change our order, get a refund, and order what we had originally wanted. It was a mess. The food was still really good which is why I give this place 2 stars instead of 1. The service needs work! We will be going to San Elijo from now on.

With only a few people in line the wait was long to order. The wait for the food was even longer and at best only gets one star. All we ordered was 4 chicken tacos and chips and guacamole. I guess with a location like that you could probably get away with putting dried dog turds on a taco and still do a pretty good business.

Came for Rooster Ramen… opens at 5:30 so we decided to stay for tacos for lunch. I ordered Carne Asada tots & hubby ordered Surf & Turf burrito. The pot sounded so good but when they came, they are the regular frozen tater tot you by the store and there was no guacamole on them. When I asked about the guacamole which was supposed to come with the tots, San they were out. The place has only been open for 20 minutes so I guess the cook or manager from night before didn’t order Avos. Guacamole is key to lube the tots! The gal that served us: her personality is the reason why I’m scoring this place so high. She is awesome, fun, and she offered us rice and beans instead of the guacamole. But the refried beans are Rosarita beans, canned so it’s not like that was a good substitute. Burrito: not worth the $ 9. Bull Taco needs to bring back the calamari tacos, which is what they were famous for! Hubby used to order them in high school & we looked forward to having after surfing at the Reef. We are coming back tonight for the Ramen, hopefully that is much better than our lunch.

The food was off the hook! I had the California burrito and the duck taco! Gianluca, Tanner and Tyler made sure I was taking care of and my meal was cooked to perfection!

Amazing service, amazing California burrito. Tater tots and you have my heart. Thick chunks of good steak AND tater tots… In a hearty burrito. I’m all yours. Haha thank you, Bull Taco!

Make sure to try the California and the Surf & Turf, both are insane. I have been slowly working my way through their menu as I don’t get down to Encinitas more than once or twice a month. The staff have always been great and the prices are just as nice. The place gets busy so make sure to plan accordingly.

We stopped for Ramen since they had a sign out. Found out it’s only served after 5pm. Then I ordered a bowl but they were out of forks. Place wasn’t the cleanest. Food was mediocre. I would skip this place.

Dear Taco Fans, This was by far in my 26 years of life the worst tacos I’ve ever had. Maybe there were other items on the menu I should of had like the carne asada tater tots. I regret not taking a pic of the fly I found in my water cup that came from the complimentary water pitcher right next to the salsas that needed CLEANING there was freaking dusts everywhere Now… let me tell you about these«Tacos» ppl are saying how good they are and blah blah witcho 5 stars Haha The tortilla was cold bruh The duck taco taste like carnitas… –_– NUTHIN special about it The mahi taco was ok but the damn tortilla was cold too and hard like a taco shell Save your money and Go to Salud in Logan! Way better tacos that will make you leave your Vato because they are that GOOD! I dont get why this place is a 5 star lmao that is so funny to me. Yall need to hit up the South part of San Diego if you want some REAL tacos This condition of this place is unacceptable! Bulldog employees you guys need to find your motivation or something. Maybe in the beginning it was good! But its not now. Clean the salsa bar! Make sure theres clean water with no flies and most of all make sure the tortilla is just as warm as the food! Good service but the tacos cold as a frozen dinner :(

This place has definitely taken a turn for the worst. Employees have lost all motivation or something. Last two times ive arrived I’ve awkwardly waited at the register with no one to be found. Waited almost 5 min today until another loud patron let out a loud yell to get someone’s attention. A young man scurried out of the back and took my order. He was very polite and after I was served he promptly returned to the back office. Not sure what they were doing back there but they def could have spent a few min cleaning the place up. Tables were dirty the salsa bar was empty and filthy. There was a thick layer of greasy dust and old salsa that were turning moldy. This will be my last visit. Food might taste ok but if the customer facing portion of the restaurant is this dirty I’m worried the food prep areas are just as dirty.

I like this spot better than Cardiff mostly cuz it’s cleaner and better parking etc. I still loved Oceanside spot better so sad they closed.

There is no other choice for non-traditional tacos in Encinitas/Leu. The salads are insane and Gianluca makes sure your dialed in with the exotic specials. Elk, Lengua, Pork Belly, assorted fish etc. Go for lunch…

Consistently delicious and on point with fun ingredients. Always be on the lookout for heir specials because it can range from a bison burrito to an uni breakfast taco. Personal favorites are the SBC taco with shrimp bacon and chorizo. Lighten it up with some lime and it’s just delightful. Another highlight is the Don Wayne or PBJ burritos but those are specials, so snag em when they pop up. The go to classic is truly he breakfast burrito. Thing is killer. Their portion sizes are admittedly medium, but when the quality of the ingredients is this good it’s fine. I generally enjoy having a burrito and a taco anyways, so now I can eat both.

I am going to start off this review by saying that I am a tried and true fan of Bulltaco, their tacos, in my humble opinion, are off the hook good. No question that the quality and combinations and preparation are excellent. I was at the Encinitas location last Mon, President’s Day, at around 1:30/2p. I met some friends there who had never been there before. They were not disappointed by the food. What was a very big disappointment was the lady who was working the cash register. I am writing this so that the owner/manager is aware that she probably needs a bit more training in customer service and how to control your attitude even when your day has«been a long one»…we’ve all had them honey but you gotta pull that sh$$ together and put a smile on your face when you’re public facing. I’ve been in the F&B industry for years and the hostess/cashier is usually the first impression of the business. To make a long story short, she didnt crack a smile once, didnt seem to hear well and her memory was nothing short of completely absent. Her makeup looked really good though… for going out to the club. It doesnt take much to slap a smile on and«seem» half way interested. My friends were pretty«amazed» but they were good sports and let the food be the star for this visit. Hopefully«she» will get some good training and wake up on the right side of the bed for her next shift. Thank you… your product is great. I will continue to be a local patron! Cheers!

We love Bull Taco in Oceanside, but my family was in Encinitas so we thought we would stop in and grab burritos to take to the beach. My 7 year old wanted nachos with cheese, so I asked what came on it and the man working the register responded with ‘just cheese.’ We found out later, as she was eating her nachos in the dark that there were also jalapeños. That was fun(sarcasm)! My husband and I had burritos, and while they weren’t horrible, the CRUNCHY rice in my burrito left something to be desired. We will stick to visiting the Oceanside location.

Is the Don Wayne breakfast burrito on a secret menu? Well its the best dam breakfast burrito I’ve ever had so if you don’t know about it, try it. The over medium eggs + tater tots make the burrito. Lately these days, places have been telling me I can’t get over medium eggs on my breakfast burrito because it will be too messy… well I tell them about the Don Wayne. I don’t even know everything that’s on this delicious monster, I just love it. Here are some of the ingredients I think are included… Over med eggs, bacon, carne, chorizo, chedder cheese, onions, cilantro, tater tots, sriacha sour cream + guac. Amaz salsa bar too … ghost mixed with green is my jam. Would have given them 5 stars if they weren’t out of guac almost everytime we go. come on make the guac please! It would also be nice if they opened a tad bit earlier — I’m ready for my breakfast burrito as soon as I wake up.

Great lunch spot during the week. Quick ez creative menu. I had the chicken quesadilla, it was ok, good enough. But the best is the nice ocean breeze accompanied with a great ocean view. They have outside bench style seating with some covered. The salsa taste a bit watered down. They also have water.

I had big expectations for this place. They say«inauthentic Mexican» and I guess… The décor upon walking was cool urban-skate-surf and the menu is pretty good with options. Chicken, carne, shrimp, fish, veggie, etc., tacos, quesadillas, burritos are available. We ordered chips and guac to start. The chips were good, but the guac was liquidy and seemed a little artificial in color, texture and taste. We also ordered the chicken tacos. They were pretty good, although the chicken was a little dry. I asked for a side of salsa and was given a tiny container that was more like hot sauce than salsa, but it was fair in taste. The service was great, counter help was quite friendly. The atmosphere is casual and breezy, there’s indoor/outdoor seating, and the place was clean. Too bad, I love a good taco joint, and this place looked pretty rad, but no bueno.
