We were looking for something other than fast food. Traveling east on I-80 about 50 miles from the Ohio line we pulled into a small town named Emlenton, PA. The Oil Rig Lunch Depot sparked our interest. Just a short 4 mile drive from the Interstate and we were rewarded with great food, friendly service at an economical price. Breakfast till eleven, and then daily lunch specials, cooked fresh to order. Serving sizes were generous so plan on another treat later in the day.

Nice find! Very unique and different. They operate out of an old part government part oil riggers museum building. You definitely feel like you walked backwards in time to your old elementary/middle school. Food was good quality, reasonably priced. Although I love kielbasa and sauerkraut which was today’s special for $ 4.99, I knew my stomach couldn’t handle it today, so I got the grilled roast beef, bacon and cheese sandwich on rye bread, and it was really tastey. They only do breakfast until 11am, then lunch. I’d definitely go back if traveling route 80 during lunchtime in the future.
