This place feels like home! Cheyenne Stables is located in the tiny town of Elverta where the sunset stretches on for miles down a little gravel road in the country. The ladies who run the stables are fabulous and they made my family feel very welcomed. My daughter is on the riding team with 2 other children her same age. They learn a lot and prepare for shows. She absolutely loves her teacher Molly and has already learned so much. The rates are beyond reasonable. They also give private lessons and group lessons. My son goes with us just to pet and feed the various farm animals and horses. We also board our horse here and know that she is in great hands when we aren’t there. When our horse got sick, Robyn called us immediately to let us know and we were able to treat her ASAP before the vet even needed to be called! She was so on top of it! Very happy with this stable, the location and the people who run it. Extremely kid and newbie friendly.

To people who know little or nothing about horses and equine facilities, this place may seem fine. I was looking for a place my board my young horse and visited here. I was very put off by the dirty facility and underweight animals. The barn was filthy. They have farm animals roaming around. The fencing is in poor condition. You get what you pay for. It definitely is low end. Too bad that whoever runs it doesn’t have a little more pride in their business. I found a wonderful boarding place for an amazing price elsewhere. They’re out there.

I have never been to a place as unprofessional as they are here at this ranch. I am not boarding a horse here so I’m not sure how they are when it comes to the boarding side of the business. My daughter with anxiety that has been horse riding for a while now was upset the day we left there and said she never wants to horse ride again but once I said I won’t take her back there she was OK with still horse riding. Luckily the next ranch we found was more professional and cheaper and my daughter loves it. Please be cautious for those who do take their kids there.

Robyn is wonderful with my daughter and son. She is extremely patient(even with crazy 5 year olds) and starts with the basics such as grooming and leading the horse with a bridle. She has all sorts of rescue animals that she introduces you to and I do not think that I have ever seen happier pigs and goats. We all love Cheyenne Stables and Robyn. She always lets us stay beyond our lesson time but we never want to leave!

Cheyenne Stables is a great place to board your horses and for the kids to ride and play. As an owner of 3 horses and 2 young children I feel like I am speaking from experience. Great trail that you can get to just by riding out of the gates… no trailer needed. Group rides going out all the time and if the group is going in trailers and there is extra space all you need to do is ask. I have kept my horses in many different kinds of places through out my life and I feel that Cheyenne is the best. Before Cheyenne Stables I kept my horses in Elk Grove, if you had a child under 8 years old you had to hold their hands the entire time you were out at the stables.(Try doing this while you are working a horse!) I love that this is a safe place for my children to wander around and know that an adult is always willing to jump in if they are doing something wrong or unsafe.(I have seen how this can cause trouble for parents that do not believe in controlling their children!) As a far as the pigs, dogs and sheep wandering around as well as the kids riding their bikes, flying their kites and doing kid things. As a trail rider I love this, what better way to help my horses get used to things they might run into on the trail. Thanks to this type of environment my horses are as «bomb proof» on the trail as a horse can get and still be alive! I have been blessed with Robyn’s knowledge and her FREE help and input. I had been in a bad accident on my horse that left me afraid to ride her. Robyn not only helped my with this issue by getting on my horse before I would ride, she would walk around with me while I rode and let me ride her horses until I got my confidence back. Of course there is going to be gossiping at the ranch there are more women then men at the ranch. Need I say more! I just wish she was closer to my house!!!
