While I miss this place as a bar, the restaurant is really good. I had a rude hostess once but the waitress Olivia made up for it. The food here is all good. I typically order a burger and fries and finish it all. The fries are the perfect amount of crunchy too. I also get the fried mac and cheese appetizer every time and one day I’ll just order two for my meal. I look forward to trying a lot more items on the menu in my last semester at Elon. I also love the drinks they have here and the French roast coffee. The coffee is the perfect after dinner drink. Highly recommend coming here when you visit Elon. Update: service here is simply not good. While I LOVE the food, this isn’t the place to get good service. It takes forever to get your food and I always feel like they are understaffed. I still love the food but if you’re in a rush, this isn’t the place for you.

Best brunch in town! The owner Herald does a great job changing up beers on tap as well as menu specials. I eat at West End at least once a week and always have a great time chatting with the Bar staff. Jeans and Alice are great!

I wish I could provide a full accounting of a proper West End Terrace experience, but I’ve been completely unsuccessful in my three attempts to do so — and it’s not for lack of trying. On my first visit — Sunday brunch — I sat at the bar with my girlfriend. It wasn’t particularly busy, yet it still took 10 minutes to be acknowledged and another 15 minutes to receive our drinks and place food orders. After another 20 minutes went by, we’re told that the kitchen couldn’t make one of our orders. I asked, «why?» and was told to hold on while the bartender found out. The answer, which apparently wasn’t properly communicated from the jump, was that they were out of certain ingredients. Fine. There was no rush placed on the replacement order, and when both came out together, the other dish has clearly been sitting there the entire time, lukewarm and just gross. The second time we returned was to try the fishbowl they have on Friday nights. The ginger-based fishbowl is great — really the only reason to ever consider returning, if at all. It was around 9:15 on a Friday night, and I asked to order food, but was told that the kitchen was closed for the evening. At 9:15. On a Friday. The only night of the week you serve these giant alcoholic beverages. Okay. Not that it was slow at the time, but okay. The following weekend, a Saturday, I called ahead earlier in the day to make sure it’s not standard practice for the kitchen to close early on weekends, and was ensured that they serve food until 10 p.m. Well, I arrived at 9 p.m. to watch a particular NCAA tournament game there, and guess what? The kitchen was closed. The reason? «We just got so slammed this afternoon, that they decided to give the kitchen the rest of the night off.» My message to the kitchen staff: Welcome to the restaurant industry. I worked in it for many years. It can be grueling sometimes, but there are still customer expectations to meet, particularly when they’re explicitly agreed upon beforehand. Hence, the impetus for this review. Eat at West End Terrace at your own peril. This is not a restaurant where great customer service is a priority. Chances are, you’re going to walk away really angry.

If you go at lunch time be prepared to get a parking ticket as parking in street is for one hour and waiting another 20 to 30 minutes to get your food. No drinks offered for wait. Many groups left due to wait. Food is good but the management of restaurant is horrible. Hire a Manager to run the business.

One of the best burgers in the area featuring local grass-fed beef. Good deals on local brews and the julienne fries are crack! There’s a nice patio for hanging out in warmer weather too. The setting is extremely casual with an open bar feel so don’t expect ambiance. Just a good place to get a good burger, a cold beer, and take in a game on tv.

This is as the description indicates, a casual atmosphere. We have visited several times. Tonight was a bit disappointing. Pay special attention to the dogs allowed in the description on this post. I would not be surprised if I were sitting outside, but a loud smelly dog inside was not appetizing at all and I am both surprised the dog owner did not leave or mgmt ask them to leave. It was in the way and simply not a place to have a pet in the middle of a loud restaurant where people are trying to socialize and enjoy a meal. If you have to have a dog with you and it’s not a service dog, then stay home. I left versus stay, watch the game and spend money.

My wife and I have been to West End Terrace many times before. Each time we find the staff to be friendly and attentive. Excellent local brew selection and this is one of the few places I’ve been that actually have local brew specials. Food is superb. Yesterday I ordered the ribs based on Chef Anthony’s recommendation. Absolutely delicious! Everything we’ve eaten has been top-notch. My wife hasn’t been able to break away from the nachos and orders them every single time we visit. You get the sense from this place that they truly care about the customer experience and will see to it that yours is a good one!

We came here for an early Sunday lunch after doing some berry picking at a local farm. We were influenced by the other Unilocal reviews and our experience was pretty positive as well. We had the«Spin Dip»(Spinach Dip) appetizer, which was very smooth & creamy along with lightly fried pita chips — both items which they made themselves. Their beer menu is pretty numerous, although it didn’t feature a Scotch Ale or anything real upper-tier.(I’m speaking as a beer snob here.) However they do have a great deal on draft, including a couple of $ 4 specials. We were both big fans of their ecelectic taco menu. I ordered the Buddha Belly tacos and loved it. My spouse ordered the Phoenix tacos and was also a fan. Our server was very gracious and everything came out in a very timely manner. I also appreciate that the staff follows the reviews on here. I would just advise them to note that under the«suggested gratuity amounts» listed on the bottom of the bill, that it’s supposed to NOT include tax. Otherwise that 20% suggested gratuity is somewhat misleading. Also, I would recommend the place have a little better indoor lighting. But overall we had a pretty good experience, and this may be the best restaurant in the area. We would certainly come again.

X came in a very busy Saturday night and they were very friendly and accommodating. The server put in our order for the children first which was great however the tenders were out of a box albeit only four dollars. The Waldorf salad with grilled tuna was disappointing but they quickly took it back and removed it from our bill. I should have realized that when there was only a three dollar up charge for adding tuna which came out as a very thin well done over dressed piece. The chicken wings with the citrus sauce were excellent. The fish tacos were fantastic. They had Greenman Rambler on tap for only three dollars a pint. Small negatives and big positives and very good service which was understandably slow considering how busy they were. I would recommend this place.

Come one hour before you are hungry because that’s how long it will take to get your appetizers. And the entrees – you’ll be waiting around for so long you forgot what you ordered. As our waitress explained, they put a thirty minute wait period on all orders to keep it in order since they were behind. But behind for hours? There was no one in the restaurant. There were at most twenty others in the restaurant and we waited over an hour to get our food. It was fine but we won’t be coming back.

I enjoyed the chicken quesadillas. There was a nice mix of fresh ingredients. It was, however, browned a bit too much.

We were in town with the kids for a tournament and stopped by for Sunday brunch. Most people were eating outside. It was very informal, which is what we wanted. The atmosphere is such that I probably would not take the kids for dinner, but it was great for them at brunch. Among other things, our table had the Big Papas tots, french toast, turkey delight, Benny & June and Lumberjack Special. Everyone really liked their meal. The poached eggs in the Benny & June were overcooked, but overall it was still good. Our server made our meal a fun and enjoyable experience. We will return next time we are in town.

We were really excited to eat here and the menu looked awesome, but the service didn’t allow us to even get a glass of water. After being seated, our waitress forgot about us for at least twenty minutes because she was socializing with other customers. It wasn’t until a member of our party stood up to get her attention that she came back to our table. She apologized but didn’t offer any solutions that would work for our time constraints.

Loved the food and atmosphere! Bartender was so nice and they were so attentive. We got just the tater tot app and the bleu flat which were both out of this world!!! Wine and beer selection was great too!

The food was pretty good, we really enjoyed the fried pickles too. The service wasn’t very good though. My husband had to wait like 15 minutes just to get his beer and it took about 20 min after we ate to get a check. My glass of coke wasn’t refilled the whole time we were there either.

New menu is banging. I cant begin to describe it. Amazing, but that’s not enough. I had the drs note. So good but beware the cheese. Ghost pepper cheese… Boom. Our server(Jennifer) was also pretty amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable about food and beer(much much more than«yeah I like it.» Actual descriptions) Bangin

We were visiting Elon and were lucky enough to hear about this place. Loved sitting on the terrace, and the food was fantastic. I had the duck and arugula salad– excellent recommendation from another post. My son had the buffalo chicken flatbread and really enjoyed the flavor. Everything seemed very fresh! Appreciated the friendly and attentive service too.

Really great place. This is NOT just a college frat bar anymore. The last time I came here was five years ago and I’ll be honest, the wings were great and they had cheap beer. However, it reminded me of all the college bars I’ve ever been to-dirty, cheap, anyone goal-get drunk. My wife and I went back today for lunch. Apparently they are under new management and things are much cleaner, their beer selection is better, and they menu is amazing. They said during our visit that they were trying to reach out to the locals more and I can definitely see it working. Gone are the college bar days, and now it’s a bit more sophisticated, with much better food and a cleaner setting. I had Bells two hearted IPA on draft and this is one of the few bars out here to carry that on tap. For an appetizer, my wife and I shared the fried mac and cheese. It was really crunchy and creamy without being battered to hell and back. For our mains, I got the honey chipotle wings and a side of fried pickles. My wife went the healthier route having the arugula salad with duck. The wings are breaded, which I normally don’t like, but the portion was great(6 of these wings are HUGE) and it had a great amount of crunch and the sauce was excellent-no ranch needed. The fried pickles were amazing as well. Great seasoning without being overly battered and it still had the tangy zing of dill. My wife’s salad was amazing. It’s really more of a main course but each flavor really complimented the other. This is the one salad that they don’t let you choose the dressing. It comes with a vinaigrette that compliments the other flavor. I’m really glad they did this, as all too often people waste the meaning of getting a salad by throwing a gallon of ranch on it, losing any flavor the salad was meant to have. Way to go, west end. The only detriment to the salad was the duck was a bit overcooked compared to how we normally like it. I’d say it was medium and we prefer medium rare. HOWEVER, we did NOT say how we wanted it cooked so I can’t fault them for this. Maybe a tip to the waiter next time-ask how we want the duck cooked. The service was fast and friendly. Great job and we will visit again!
