This is definitely the place to go in the area. They have everything you need from making keys to fixing a yard or garden. They also have the small propane tanks I use for my Weber grill Outstanding service and ultimately friendly! Cheers! To: My favorite Ace Hardware.

very helpful better than the big box stores

This Ace Hardware has saved my buns and $$$ many times when I lived in the neighborhood. Owner Larry and the staff are fantastic whether you have a plumbing, electrical, carpentry or painting problem. They know their stuff!
Example: I had a ceiling fan where the pull chain broke INSIDE the housing. I thought I was faced with buying a whole new fan because I could not see where you could just replace the switch. (OK, I’ll admit, I’m not the sharpest crayon in the box when it comes to home repairs.) Instead of immediately going to a big box store and buying a new fan, I decided to take a trip to my friends at Ace Hardware on Harlem Avenue. I explained my problem to Larry. He found the right switch and sketched a diagram of how to remove the switch from my existing fan. It took me 5 minutes to replace once I knew what to look for. This is just one example of how they saved me money. In another instance, he saved me the cost of a new bathroom faucet by special ordering a cartridge (that no one else was interested in ordering for me) for a leaky faucet. Ten years later that faucet was still working fine after we sold the house. These are just two examples of excellent service we experienced in over 20 years of doing business at Colandrea Ace Hardware.
If you want OUTSTANDING service from people that know what they are talking about, this is the place to go. I can’t say enough good things about Larry and his Uncle, and the rest of the staff at Colandrea Ace Hardware. You won’t get service like this at the big box stores.

Forget Lowes and Home Depot down the street. This is like your dad’s workbench, but better. It comes with a dad! Not really, but the helpful guys remind me of my dad and how he could fix anything. Door sweeps not in my size? No problem! They trim it down, no charge. Need to fix some random thing in your older home? These guys get creative. Go here first. Seriously.

I have to agree with the other reviews of this place. I have found the staff there to be extremely helpful, courteous, and well informed. I have now made this place my first stop when looking for hardware or household items. I have found the prices there to be extremely competitive, and I strongly suggest wandering around the place after you find what you need as you will inevitably find something else you need and didn’t think of.
