Yoga Jeans.
That’s a thing.
WAAAY more stylish and acceptable than the pajama jean, of which I have no personal beef with, but from what I’ve heard around the interwebs, those are a bit of a faux pas.
I had some business in the area and 20 minutes to kill when I noticed their really cute window display from about a block away and decided to give it a whirl. I was greeted right away by the shop girl, who wasn’t overly friendly, but she was helpful and didn’t put on one of those phoney sales people acts, and I really appreciated that.
They’ve got a cute selection of jewelry, some kids stuff, workout clothing, dresses, casual wear and the aforementioned Yoga Jeans, which look like really nice jeans, but when you wear them they feel like yoga pants. Super comfy and stretchy– but they don’t look like stretchy jeans (like when stretchy jeans look kinda cheap). They were pricey and definitely the most expensive pair of pants I’ve ever purchased, but for the past few months I knew I was in desperate need of new denim. All the pants I’ve currently got are from sale racks at Target and cost no more than $ 22, which is fine and totally works – I don’t need expensive designer stuff, but I did need a pair of nice black pants that I could wear to ‘business casual’ type meetings with a blazer or something that I can dress up and it would’ve been great if I could find something that fit my needs at Target, but all their women’s section stuff is all too big for me and their juniors stuff is too young to look even semi-​professional, so I’d been putting the act of getting adult pants off for quite a while and felt like I could justify the $ 120 price tag for these pants that were comfortable, nice-​looking, and fit me well.
Be warned that as far as sizing goes, the shop didn’t offer a lot of wiggle room with their selection. Definitely geared towards a person with a bit of a smaller frame. When I was looking through the denim selection, they had quite a few 26 and 27-​sized pants, which worked out great for me, but the largest size that I saw (not that I took inventory of everything they had) was a 31.
They also had a small section of fun party gifts and bottles of bubbly and accompaniments — Sort of like a paired-​down, less-​cheeky and higher-​end Francesca’s Collections in that sense.
One thing that really caught my eye about the store was the workshop space in the back. They have a huge, open, beautiful room where they host yoga demos, painting classes, wine-​tastings, art workshops — just a really cool event space and would be perfect for a girl’s night out gathering.
Really cool place. Not a place I could afford to shop for everyday items, but nothing seemed outrageous for the quality of pieces.
Oh, and they sell really cute vegan handbags and clutches, in case that’s your jazz.

I had the pleasure of visiting Rouse during the recent Girlfriends Night Out event. Rouse is a cute women’s clothing & accessory boutique. They carry a wide selection from workout clothing, jewelry, clothing, home fragrance to items for kids such as smelly pencils and sparkly bracelets.
I really liked the clothing selection but found that the prices were a bit high. It would be nice if there were promos offered during events such as the Girlfriends Night Out. When I entered the store, I asked about any promos being offered. I was told they were offering free manis/​pedis/​makeup in the back as well as a free gift with purchase. I made a purchase and never received the «free gift». I inquired and was told there was no such gift. I am happy with my purchase but overall, info relayed to customers during the event was a bit confusing.
Addison Ave. doesn’t seem to receive as much foot traffic as York so hopefully Rouse manages to overcome that obstacle.
