McDonalds

This McD’s is a complete dump. It’s so bad it makes the crappy BK next door look clean. Tear it down now.

When I tell people from work that I’m going to McDonalds for lunch it always seems to elicit some type of negative comment about how unhealthy and fattening McDonalds is. Well, in my option, you can eat healthy at almost every restaurant. However, you need to make good choices, and with all the nutritional information on-​line and even on the menu boards, you have no excuse. McDonalds has salads, grilled chicken wraps, yogurt parfaits, and oatmeal. This McDonalds is not fancy by any means (needs remodeling), but it’s clean and quick.
As of this writing there are ninety-​six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Unilocal

It’s a McDonald’s, you can’t expect much. But it’s around the corner from Elmhurst Hospital, and it’s open 24hours. So when you’re tired of hospital food, and in a hurry, it’ll do.

One word sums up this location — terrible. In their quest to never get a drive thru order right, they have been 5 for 5! How hard is it to fill a drive thru order?

Definitely not one of the better McDonalds of the area. The dining room is always cold and there is no self serve fountain. The franchisee comes across really cheap and the bathroom has a certain smelly dirtiness about it. However, The drive through moves quickly.

Ok, so twice a year I’ve just got to have one. My choice is the happy meal, just enough to get
that Burger and Fry buzz on !! First I do the fries, don’t want them to get cold. Open the bag and I see this new Barbie doll size french fry container. «sad face» first thought they have downsized portions just like everyone is doing. and of course raised the price. I stick my hand back in the bag for my cheeseburger and I feel cold. Apple Slices !! no no no… I want more fries.
Well at least I know now.

LOL– McDonalds is McDonalds — I’m 31 so I’m a little old school. Erik H’s comment is funny because — in this day and age how do you get an order wrong.
Back in my day — you had to take an order, flip the burgers, fill the pop, and give out the change.
Now — there are people in India asking you what you want over the intercom, the burgers pretty much fry themselves with all the technology, the soda machine pretty much fills itself with one button, and the only thing the cashier has to do is put in the amount and the change comes out on it’s own they just have to pull out the right dollar bills.
All of this. and yet people STILL GET IT WRONG. Plus to make matters worse — they are blocks from the McDonalds corporate office.
I’m terrified –when I’m 80 –these morons are going to be the leaders of the world — we’re all doomed!

After my ⁰³⁄₂₇ review of this McDonald’s I promised myself I would not go back, and assured myself that if for some reason I did things would have to be better. Promise broken and assurance wrong…
Me: «You don’t have free refills on orange juice, do you?»
Server A: «Yes.»
Me: «I’d like an orange juice with my meal»
—Ten Minutes Later—
Me: «I would like a refill on my orange juice.»
Server B: «No.»
Me: «Excuse me?»
Server B” «Orange juice no refills.»
Me: «The other server said I could get a refill.»
—Manager Comes Over—
Manager: «No refills on orange juice.»
Me: «I asked the server before ordering if there were free refills. She said yes. I would not have ordered it otherwise.»
Manager: «No refills on orange juice.»
Me: Could you refill me with something else then? Soda?“
Manager: «No. You can buy a soda.»

The food was once again not great either. The only upside to this story is that I decided to call the mcDonald’s service number on the side of my cup. They were quite pleasant and apologetic, and said the would be sending me some coupons for free food that I could use at any location.

Well they were pretty great; atleast the morning crew was. All the cashiers were pleasant and sincere and my food came out fast. I choose to go in because the drive-​thru line was too long.
Ya know … I really appreciate these workers. Yeah, they know this isn’t the best job but they make it happen, and it’s great that they start my morning off in a good way because the last thing I need is some piss-​ant ruining the remainder of my trip to where ever I’m going that morning!
And the thing I miss about the McDonald’s by my house, all creppy old dirty men and women now, is the nice elderly people that come and have breakfast as a group. There for about 5 groups just hanging out like the «old days», chatting amongst each other.
