We love elmhurst american legion. My husband was a member before. We had our wedding reception

Was in the area at lunchtime and decided on a lark to try this place. Had a great Reuben sandwich with more meat than I’ve ever seen. The service was very friendly. Atmosphere was a little off-​putting but not too bad. I will definitely return and this time it would be on purpose.

Love the burgers here, they are one of my favorite. I come here for lunch as they have daily specials which all include a cup of soup. The food is great, you won’t be disappointed in the home cooking at an affordable price. The Friday fish fry is fabulous and very tasty.

You wouldn’t normally think of the American Legion as a restaurant, but they do serve food. They have very reasonable lunch specials and generally a Friday night fish fry. I was recently there playing bingo and found out that they serve individual pizzas. Sadly I didn’t win the $ 4k pull tabs jackpot, or anything for that matter, but the pizza and beer was good. If you’re looking for something to do on a Wednesday night, and for some reason you enjoy bingo, pizza, and beer, this is your place.

Decided to have lunch here on a whim. Wasn’t expecting much. Was very surprised. The Reuben I had was one of the best I’ve ever had. My wife had a burger and said it was great.
The atmosphere is a little quirky, like something right out of the 50’s. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return and it won’t be on a whim.

The BEST burgers in Elmhurst (and the surrounding area!). It’s a shame that so many people don’t realize this little gem is open Monday thru Friday to the general public for lunch! In addition to burgers, they have a full menu AND daily specials. They have a cast of regular characters at the bar everyday that never cease to amuse and entertain. And cheap drinks to boot. The burgers (served on a pretzel roll) rival some of the best in Chicagoland, including Kuma’s and Lockdown! Come visit some day and see for yourself!

The legion is open for lunch on week days from 11 – 2. You wouldn’t typically think an American Legion would be a great spot to grab a meal, but in Elmhurst it certainly is. You can eat for under 10 bucks and be in and out on a lunch break. They provide a daily special that ranges from steak sandwiches to pasta bolognese. There’s also a Burger of the Day which includes a New York Patty Melt and a Texas Rancher served with bacon and BBQ sauce! The soup changes daily as well, with choices like Italian Wedding and Zesty Chicken with Rice. These are just a few choices aside from their daily menu. If you like Reubens, BLTs, homemade mac & cheese, chopped salads and much more, stop by the legion for lunch. I’m never disappointed!
