Found this little gem on a lark. Food very good — BBQ — Love the pulled pork. Cole slaw a little vinegary for me but still tasy. Have been back a couple times for take out. I suggest seeking out this gem. Small Eat in area or take out.

So pleased! I have always loved the items offered on the food truck, but I needed to make use of their ‘brick and mortar’ catering services so I placed an order for a last minute catering event for a small gathering of six who had suddenly lost a young family member. The staff was very courteous on the phone and arranged everything within the parameters that was needed, all on very short notice. They even went so far as to deliver flowers for the grieving family as well as the meal. The family thought the food was delicious and they were very pleased. Thank you so much for going above and beyond! A+++

I have had this a few times: the truck, as catered, and as take-out from the physical restaurant. Overall, it was ok — just nothing memorable. Pulled chicken was dry. Cole slaw wasn’t good. Didn’t even like the corn bread. Pork n beans and the mac and cheese were good. $ 10 platter includes 1 meat, 2 sides, and corn bread. Or $ 10 for a sandwich combo: sandwich, 1 side, corn bread, and a can of soda.

For a cool April Saturday, I had a craving for BBQ and wanted to try something new. I didn’t want to drive too far, so I decided to go on down Transit after reading about R&R BBQ opening a sit-down restaurant. I was flying solo, so I just wanted some take out. I got to R&R around 3pm and I was the only one in there the whole time. The truck was out front as they were prepping I believe for Beerology downtown. I don’t know if this should have been a sign, but it was in the middle of a Sabres game and in between lunch & dinner. The inside area seats a little over 20 and is painted like you are in a ketchup and mustard bottle holder, much like their truck. It was clean and neat and if I had some friends with me, I wouldn’t hesitate to eat-in. I had looked at the menu at home and decided to go with a half rack of ribs which came with two sides and cornbread($ 14). I picked the hand cut fries and mac & cheese. I had to wait about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. Overall, I really, really wanted to like everything, but each component of the meal came up short. It seems like the truck has really good reviews for the sandwiches and such, but I was pretty underwhelmed with my meal today. 1) Ribs — They were cooked, but lacked any sort of smokey or tangy flavor in the meat itself that screamed«BBQ!» They had more of a spongy/rubbery texture to them. Yes, they came off the bone, but the meat didn’t really separate from itself easily. There was no crunchy or grilled texture to the outside and only the sauce they were glazed in was there for flavor on the very outside. I do not want to guess how exactly they cook/prepare them, or how far ahead of time, but there probably could be some improvements. 2) Sauce — Speaking of the flavor, didn’t really stand out to me as something super unique or different. It was sort of a generic BBQ sauce flavor and nothing that would make me crave it/want to buy it/remind me that it was R&R. The cook came out and put a little container into my to-go box because he realized he didn’t drizzle it on top of the ribs. I was glad to have it, because I had to dip most of my bites of the rib into it to at least give some flavor. 3) Sides — If I would have known there was a seasoning salt on the fries, I probably wouldn’t have gotten them. Not my favorite. They came out orange and extra crispy. The mac & cheese was just ok. They used the mini shells which I find a little too thin of pasta for restaurant-sized batches of mac & cheese as it can get soggy. The cheese sauce was more runny and thin than ooohy-gooey/stick to your ribs. Decent cheese flavor, but I was just noticing the pic of the mac & cheese on their menu they gave me that looked baked and bubbly and this did not look like what I got. I will compliment them on the large portion though. Cornbread was pretty plain and done a little too well on the bottom. 4) Desserts — I didn’t get any, but they had some sitting out, like a PB bar and chocolate chip cookie that looked pretty basic. The apple pie they had out looked decent($ 3.50 a slice). I would like to go back and try something else, maybe the pulled pork and chicken, and try some other sides as I don’t like to give up on a place right away, especially a local small business. Maybe it was just an off day, but the average-ness of everything left me wanting more.
